
A Deeply Nourishing Rest (Live)
Give yourself a break! Take some time out to give your mind and body a deeply nourishing, nurturing rest. This meditation will leave you feeling calm, relaxed and deeply at ease. Recorded live on the 25th June 2020. Edited June 2024 to remove audio glitches
Transcript
So snuggle into your nest guys,
Make sure that your body feels really supported,
Yeah.
Making any final adjustments that you need to now,
Either to your body or to your nest.
And let's just acknowledge the transition that we're making together now,
Which is a very simple shift from all of the busyness of life,
From the busyness of your day.
And we're dropping now into the very simple and completely effortless space of just being.
So you don't need to go anywhere,
You already are being.
You don't need to conjure it up,
You don't need to imagine anything.
There's nothing to wait for.
Just being here now.
I often liken when we unhook from all of the stories of our lives,
When we give ourselves a break from the whole world and everything in it,
I liken it to taking off a tight shoe.
It's such a relief.
So let's take a nice deep breath together guys,
Inhaling low into your belly,
Hunching and squeezing your shoulders up to your ears and then let your body go.
Yeah and in your own time,
As the energies of your mind-body system settle down naturally,
Take a few more of those really slow,
Deep,
Releasing breaths and take your time,
Go even more slowly than you want to.
No hurry,
No rush.
And really get a sense of the relief as you breathe out of just letting it all go.
More the controlling,
The managing,
The trying to make anything happen.
Just letting it all go.
And see if just for now you can give your full attention to the feeling of the slow and deep breaths and let that breath flow effortlessly,
Really low.
So that as you inhale,
Your tummy is filling up like a balloon.
And then just give the exhalation away,
Handing everything over,
All the responsibilities,
All the trying,
Giving everything away,
Holding nothing to hold,
Nothing to keep.
Let everything come and let everything go within this space of view that is quietly noticing.
How would it be to give everything up and just to be here,
To remain fully present,
Awake and aware,
Even as your body drops to a really deep,
Restful space.
You remain.
Let your mind wander because that's just what the mind does.
But just let thought be free,
Leaving it alone,
Not getting involved.
And just for now,
And you feel the movement of your breath.
As body breathes all by itself,
Can you feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest and the very subtle sensation in the inner passageways of your nostrils.
Let the feeling of your breath come to you,
Less and less effort.
Just body breathing,
Nobody making it happen,
Just breath coming in,
Breath going out.
And let the weight of your whole body fall into the surface that it's resting on.
And let that weight go and let your body be held,
Completely held.
There's nothing to do.
Just being here is enough.
Feel the movement of your breath and if you leave without any judgement,
Just come right back here now.
Body breathing,
Not thinking about it,
But can you feel it?
See if you can stay as the noticing.
That noticing is effortless.
Breath by breath,
By breath.
This body dropping into a sweet and deep nourishing,
Healing rest.
Whilst you remain the you that is beyond,
Before,
Beneath,
Between.
All that is remains.
Feel the inside of your mouth just exploring with curiosity the immediate sensations inside the mouth,
Tongue,
Hinges of the jaw,
Softening open.
Can you rest here wide open to this whole experience,
Just as it is,
With no agenda,
No analysis,
No evaluation,
Wide open to every sound,
Every sensation,
The temperature,
Words coming and going,
In you.
The root of the tongue softening,
Throat settling into a deep rest.
The softening of the whole face,
Skin releasing its weight,
Eyes resting back,
Softening into the support of each socket and the whole area around and behind eyes resting open,
Space between eyebrows,
Forehead smooth,
The sensation behind eyes expanding.
None of this is a doing,
Just words arising,
Body responding in you.
Just being.
Brain releasing and letting go,
Feel the weight of the brain as it rests in the warm fluid that surrounds it.
Back of the head,
Base of the skull,
Back of the neck,
Releasing and letting go in an attitude of surrender,
A surrendering of any energies that want to control or manipulate the flow of experience,
A giving up of trying to make anything happen.
Just being.
You are inherently aware,
Without even trying.
Present,
Knowing and being.
Welcome now the feeling,
Right hand.
Give that feeling time,
The raw experience right hand,
Drop the name,
The idea,
The image and just let the raw sensation right hand flow in you,
Right hand,
Back of right hand.
The natural sensation right palm,
Can you feel the pulsation?
See waves of vibration,
Right palm,
Don't try to keep it,
Just let that sensation unfold.
Thumb.
Second finger.
Third.
Fourth.
Little finger.
Softening open.
Wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Right shoulder blade.
Right side of back.
The places where the back meets the surface the body is resting on,
Just the feeling.
Right side of chest.
Waist.
Hip.
Thigh.
Knee.
Shin.
Carve.
Ankle.
Heel.
Soul of right foot,
Pure sensation.
Can you stay right here fully embodied whether the experienced body is comfortable or uncomfortable,
Pleasant or unpleasant?
Can you be wide open to the direct experience body?
No judgement.
Pure sensation.
Can you feel now left hand?
Let that feeling come to you left hand.
Back of left hand.
The current sensation left palm.
The pulsation left palm,
Don't try to keep it.
Let it flow.
Thumb.
Second finger.
Third.
Fourth.
Little finger.
Resting open.
Wrist.
Forearm.
Elbow.
Upper arm.
Left shoulder blade.
Left side of back.
The points of contact between the back and the surface that it's resting on.
Pure sensation.
Left side of chest.
Waist.
Hip.
Eye.
Knee.
Shin.
Carve.
Ankle.
Heel.
Soul of left foot.
Lingling and alive.
Whole spine.
Releasing and letting go.
Tailbone softening down.
A softening deep down in the belly.
Digestive system.
The gut.
Immune system bathed.
In the healing form of your own presence.
You are aware.
You are awareness itself.
Wide open to this whole moment.
Whatever condition is arising within the realms of mind,
Body and world.
Your being remains untouched.
Unblemished.
This whole body dropping just a little deeper into the sweetest,
Deepest slumber.
Whilst awareness remains.
Unhooking identity from mind and body.
And being as you naturally are.
Safe.
Really,
Really safe.
Home.
This is home.
Your deepest,
Truest self that has never left you.
Always available.
Always here.
Always now.
And now.
And now.
The source and the substance of all that is.
Of all that's known.
Intimately and utterly at one.
With every movement within itself.
And yet.
Untouched.
So give up any remaining trying to get there.
You already are that.
And in the silent space that follows.
Consciously resting in the knowing of your own being.
And any time that you leave.
Just beginning afresh.
Re-relaxing.
Open.
And just being.
And now.

The sweetness.

Wide open to each and every moment.
Just with a yes.
Yes.
To mind,
Body and world as they are.
Hear this yes even to the no.
Where there is a yes to all the resistance.
To the seeking.
To the yes.
Feel where your body meets.
The surface that it's resting on.
Just that plane of contact.
The immediate sensation.
Whole body pulsating.
With life.
Waves of vibration.
Mind,
Body and world functioning.
Perfectly by themselves.
Nobody making it happen.
Just a divine flow and intelligence unfolding moment by moment.
Wide open and free.
Unlocated.
Unbound.
Here.
Now.
Aware.
Conscious.
As body rests so deeply.
Call forward from this space.
Your truth.
A prayer for your life.
Something that you really,
Really want.
Giving that some space.
Your heart's deepest longing without referring to your mind.
What wants to be seen and heard?
What's the deepest calling?
Of your deepest truest self?
What matters?
Let there be a clear seeing that nothing of true value is lost when we let all those stories go.
All the value remains.
The peace.
The love.
The joy of your own being.
Remains.
Let's let the body breathe deeply again.
So let that breath flow really low into your belly.
Hand the exhalation over with a lovely long and soft sigh.
In these precious remaining moments of being wide open.
Free of the middle man.
Let your body take a few more of those really low,
Deep,
Releasing breaths.
And breathe that prayer for your life.
Breathe it in.
Let yourself receive.
And give away as you exhale all that is not in alignment with your heart's deepest longing for your life.
Without having to name it just your willingness for there to be a clear seeing of what's ready to drop away.
Of anything that keeps you stuck,
Holds you back.
Just a willingness to see it,
To face it and to feel whatever feelings are associated with it.
Just to really meet,
To meet whatever wants to come out of the shadows and into the light of your being.
To be set free.
Just enjoying that very simple pleasure like a long,
Cool drink of that fresh life giving breath.
That nourishment.
Like you have all the time in the world.
To receive.
That fresh life giving breath,
Freely given.
And it's here in abundance so let your body receive and any hard edges that you find.
See if you can let them soften so that your body can receive just that drop more.
And then just give the whole lot away.
There's no end to the depths of your being.
So just let those layers one by one peel away of all that's being held and that's not needed.
So friends,
May you be well.
May you be at peace.
And may you be happy.
And I'm going to invite you now either to continue resting in your natural state.
Just being.
I'm going to invite you to stay if you have that time.
Or to let your body move if and when it's ready.
And to stay anchored.
Down.
Rooted.
In this ground of being that remains.
Constant and true.
Throughout all experience.
So we can drop in any moment.
Never lost.
This peace that's yours can never be lost.
Uncaused.
So I hope you get a really deep and peaceful sleep this evening friends.

I really enjoyed this meditation however there are some audio glitches around minutes 10:05 that are rather disruptive to the meditation and it would be really great if you could fix these. ~ty so much Amanda! Can't wait to listen again!!! All your work is a god send particularly when I'm having trouble sleeping. Your voice is so lovely and the have such flow they take me right into the zoneπͺ·
