Hello Wellness Warrior and welcome to this Amber Buddhi Yoga meditation.
Find yourself a quiet space,
Settle in with a blanket and maybe a cup of tea.
Find a comfortable position either seated or lying down where your spine can remain straight.
Let's begin.
Make yourself comfortable.
Sit comfortably in any way that allows your body to relax completely.
Feel free to sit against a wall or in a chair for additional support.
Wherever you are,
Feel the connection between your body and anything it's resting against.
Elongating through the spine,
Finding comfortable length.
Once you're settled in,
Close your eyes or soften your gaze and tune into your breath.
Notice your breath without trying to change it.
Notice how you feel.
Maybe there's tension or perhaps you're fully relaxed.
No matter the feeling,
Simply observe without trying to change this either.
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.
Become aware of the state of your body and the quality of your mind.
Is there any tension that can be released?
Where is your mind?
Is it wandering or is it at home with your breath?
Continuing to breathe,
Place both hands over your heart.
Inhaling through the nose and exhaling through your mouth.
Ask yourself,
How does it feel to place my hands over this tender area?
This place where I experience love for others and for myself.
Let your breath become smooth and effortless and begin to breathe in and out through your nose.
Feeling the cold air graze against the inside of your nostrils and the warm air float back out past your throat.
With each exhale,
Imagine you are releasing any negative thoughts that may be lingering in the back of your mind.
Continue to focus on your breath and with each inhale,
Think I am worthy.
With each exhale,
Think I am enough.
Let each inhale draw in self love and each exhale release that which is no longer serving you.
Take a few minutes to breathe and recite this mantra internally,
Noticing how you feel as you say these words to yourself.
If your mind wanders at any point,
Know that that's okay,
It's the nature of the mind to wander.
Simply bring your attention back to your breath.
Noticing how your thoughts come and go,
Whether positive or negative and simply allow them to pass like clouds floating in the sky.
Now visualize yourself standing in front of a mirror.
Take a look at your body as a whole.
What do you see?
How do you feel when you look at your vessel?
Love and joy?
Pain and sadness?
Neutrality?
Now hold this image in your mind and fully relax into your space,
Releasing any tension,
Feeling warm and relaxed.
Take a moment to reflect on your body.
No matter what your body looks like,
No matter what its size or shape,
Recognize how amazing this vessel is.
Remembering that it is an intricate creation made of trillions of cells,
All working in harmony with one another day in and day out to give your soul a place to call home while you're here on this planet.
Bringing your attention to your feet.
Maybe your toes are pedicured.
Maybe they're dry and bare.
Maybe your feet are dainty and small.
Maybe they're big and wide.
No matter what they look like,
Remember that these feet have carried you maybe tens of thousands of miles.
They've allowed you to dance and skip,
Twirl and spin.
They have connected you to the earth and carried the weight of your body for years.
Take a moment to say thank you to your feet.
Now bring your attention to your legs.
Maybe they're thin and long.
Maybe they're short and muscular.
Maybe your thighs touch.
Maybe they don't.
No matter how thick or thin,
Strong or weak,
Remember how powerful they are.
Just like the feet they are connected to,
They have carried you far and wide.
They have kept your body upright and lifted you out of chairs.
They have helped you jump and squat,
Play sports and take leisurely strolls.
Take a moment to give thanks to your legs.
Now think about your torso,
Your back and belly.
Maybe they're strong and defined.
Perhaps they're a little loose and relaxed.
Maybe you have a little or a lot to grab onto.
Remember that the extra tissue you hold around your center is to protect all of your internal organs so that they can digest and detoxify,
Release and relax.
Find gratitude for your torso,
Your belly.
Thank it for all that it does.
Bringing your attention now to your shoulders and arms.
Maybe they're broad or narrow.
Maybe they're muscular or plump.
Maybe they're tiny,
Hairy,
Sleek or dimpled.
No matter their features,
Recall how many things they've allowed you to carry or people they've allowed you to hug.
Think of your hands and fingers.
How many times they've allowed you to celebrate with claps or find rhythm with snaps.
Think of all the times they've allowed you to pray or given you a special place to wear a special ring.
Think your shoulders,
Arms and hands.
Finally take a moment to bring awareness to your beautiful face.
There is no other face quite like it.
Maybe lines frame your mouth because of the millions of smiles you've given to others.
The laughter you've found with loved ones.
Maybe your nose is small or big,
Straight or crooked but it has given you the ability to smell food and flowers and rain and fresh laundry.
Maybe your eyes are tired and creased but they have allowed you to smile more brightly,
Cry to release your emotions,
See sunsets and rainbows and allow your soul to shine through your face.
Take a moment for thanking your face to give you an identity.
Now come back to the image in the mirror.
Regardless of what appears in the reflection,
Remind yourself,
I love you,
You are beautiful and you are worthy of happiness.
Know that what you see in the mirror in this moment may be different from what you see the next time you look.
But remember that this image is not a complete reflection of who you are.
Rather than scold this vessel for what it's not,
Remind yourself today and every day to be grateful for all that it is.
No matter how you feel about the way it looks day to day,
It will be with you always wherever you go.
Imagine this body being surrounded in pure positive energy and allow this energy to permeate your skin and sink deep into your soul.
Sitting with this feeling of peace and serenity,
Take three more deep cleansing breaths.
Take all the time you need to sit here and when you're ready,
Softly blink your eyes open.
Sitting for a few moments to acknowledge the unique experience you've had over the course of the last few minutes and maybe take a moment to journal about your thoughts that came up during this meditation.
What did you learn about your body?
What did you learn about yourself?
What did you learn about yourself?
