Finding Peace in a Troubled World This guided meditation is designed to help you cultivate inner tranquility and calmness,

No matter the external circumstances.

By focusing on your breath,

Your body,

And positive affirmations,

You'll learn to anchor yourself in peace.

Despite the chaos that may surround you.

Begin by settling into a quiet,

Comfortable space where you won't be disturbed.

Whether seated or reclining,

Find a posture that allows you to feel both relaxed and alert.

Gently close your eyes and take a deep,

Cleansing breath.

Hold it briefly,

Savouring the pause,

Then exhale slowly.

As you release this breath,

Imagine that you're releasing any tension or mental chatter,

Creating space for the calm that is to come.

As we start drifting a little deeper within,

Bring your full attention to your breath.

Inhaling deeply,

Filling your lungs with air,

Feel the subtle expansion of your chest and abdomen.

Pause for a moment,

And slowly exhale,

Allowing your body to soften with this release.

With each cycle of breath,

Gently let go of any distractions or external thoughts.

You're creating a moment of stillness and presence.

Allow each inhale to centre you,

Drawing your awareness inward,

While each exhalation releases tension,

Bringing you deeper into this moment.

As you continue to focus on your breathing,

Notice how each breath invites a greater sense of calm and ease.

You are exactly where you need to be.

Now shift your attention to your body,

Beginning at the crown of your head,

Tuning in to any sensations that you notice.

Without judgement,

Simply observe.

As you take a slow deep breath in,

And out,

Imagine your exhalation dissolving any tension in this area.

Move your focus downward,

To your forehead and eyes,

Softening any tightness.

Continue to your jaw,

Neck and shoulders,

Where we often hold stress and tension.

With each breath out,

Release any discomfort or stiffness,

Allowing these areas to relax completely.

Keep guiding your attention down your body,

Your arms,

Your hands,

Chest and abdomen,

Inhaling and releasing.

Feel your breath flowing into these areas,

Bringing warmth and ease.

As you reach your legs,

And down,

Down to your feet and toes,

Notice how much lighter and more at ease your entire body feels.

With every exhalation,

You let go of what no longer serves you,

Inviting complete relaxation.

Now allow your mind to drift to a place where you feel truly at peace,

A personal sanctuary.

This could be a real location you've been to before,

Or a place created entirely by your imagination.

Consider this peaceful sanctuary vividly.

Perhaps you're by the ocean,

Feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin,

Listening to the rhythmic waves.

Perhaps you're in a lush forest,

The scent of pine in the air,

Surrounded by the comforting sound of rustling leaves.

Wherever your peaceful place is,

Immerse yourself fully.

Feel the textures underfoot,

Hear the gentle sounds,

Breathe in the scents that bring you comfort.

Let yourself soak in the serenity of this space,

Allowing it to fill every corner of your mind and body.

In this moment,

Nothing can disturb your peace.

Now that you are fully present in your tranquil refuge,

Find a spot to sit or recline comfortably.

As you settle in,

Imagine that with each breath in,

You're drawing in the serenity of this place.

The air here is infused with peace,

And every inhalation nourishes you with its calm,

Filling you with a sense of lightness and ease.

As you exhale,

Release any lingering worries or fears.

Imagine them dissipating like a cloud,

Leaving you lighter with each breath.

Feel yourself sinking deeper into the peace that surrounds you.

With every inhale,

Absorb more tranquility,

And with every exhale,

Let go of negativity.

You are safe,

Calm,

And at peace.

It's time to reinforce the peace you've cultivated with personal affirmations.

Silently or aloud,

Begin to repeat the following statements,

Or create your own,

Feeling the truth in each word.

I am at peace,

No matter what is happening around me.

With each breath,

I draw in calm and release tension.

I carry serenity within me,

And it radiates outwards.

I choose peace,

And peace chooses me.

As you repeat these affirmations,

Let their meaning sink into your consciousness.

You are affirming that peace is not something you must search for.

It's always within you,

Ready to be accessed whenever needed.

Now visualise the peaceful energy you've been cultivating within,

Expanding outward.

Imagine it as a soothing,

Glowing light.

This light emanating from your body,

And radiating into the world around you.

See this light spreading beyond your immediate surroundings,

Reaching out to loved ones,

Friends,

And even strangers.

Picture it travelling to places of conflict or distress,

Touching those who need peace the most.

Let this light expand even further,

Covering the entire world in a gentle,

Calming glow.

In this moment,

You're contributing to a global sense of peace and harmony.

Gradually begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment.

By deepening your breath,

Feeling the rise and fall of your chest.

Wiggle your fingers and toes gently to reconnect with your body.

As you breathe in,

Feel the ground beneath you.

And as you breathe out,

Remember that this sense of peace is something you can carry with you.

And when you feel ready,

Slowly open your eyes,

Taking a moment to adjust to your surroundings.

Allow yourself a few more deep breaths before fully returning to your day.

Know that the calm you've cultivated here remains within you,

Accessible any time you need it.

And take a moment to thank yourself for dedicating this time to your well-being.

You've nurtured a deep sense of peace within,

And by doing so contributed to a more peaceful world.

For this inner peace is always available to you,

Whether through mindful breathing,

Visualisation or affirmations.

You have the tools to return to this state of calm whenever life becomes overwhelming.

May this peace stay with you as you navigate life's complexities,

Guiding you with a sense of calm and strength.

Dear Andrew Johnson. 🩷
