This practice is designed to cultivate loving-kindness for ourselves and for our lives at this lockdown time. If we can be grateful and compassionate towards others, it's time we are compassionate and grateful towards ourselves; the most important relationship of them all. Let me guide you on this beautiful meditation to cultivate the human nature of self-love, that each of us has access to during every moment of our lives.

We begin with our eyes closed.

Taking a few long deep breaths.

In through the nose,

Out through the nose.

Getting comfortable in the space.

Through the belly we breathe in.

Belly rises on the inhale.

Falls on the exhale.

Belly rises on the inhale.

Exhale letting go of what does not serve you in this space.

Deepening the breath.

Feel the whole body with your breath this morning.

Allowing the breath to create the space for you to be able to cultivate a gratitude practice in the present moment.

In through the nose,

Exhale letting it go.

Choosing this time just for you.

Your body is relaxing.

Your breath is your guide.

Tuning in today,

How does your body feel?

Scanning from head to toe.

What energy are you carrying around with you today?

Maybe you feel fidgety or excited or lethargic.

Tuning in,

See if you can tune in without judgement.

Like you're observing rather than participating.

Let the judgements go,

The expectations go.

Allow every cell in your body to be relaxed with the breath as you scan your mind and body tuning in to how you feel today.

To help you with this breath,

The lightness of the breath moves through the body.

Start to envision a glowing light.

As you breathe in,

The light expands throughout your body.

As you breathe out,

It reaches your fingertips,

Your toes,

Reaching out a little bit further than your body.

Like you're creating a glow around your body too.

Inhale,

The light glows.

Exhale,

The light grows bigger.

Maybe you feel lighter.

Or if you find your mind begins to take over,

Bring it back to the breath.

In this space we've just created,

I want you to think,

Who or what are you grateful for today?

Who or what are you grateful for today?

Does this light help you feel the gratitude in your body?

Envision memory,

Or conversation,

Or reflection.

Whatever helps you embody this gratitude.

If you're grateful for a loved one,

Envision the loved one in the room or sending them a message of how you feel.

Not dwelling in this for too long.

As you are capable of feeling this love and gratitude for external things in your life,

You are extremely capable of feeling this love and gratitude for yourself.

Take that feeling,

That embodiment that you have,

And let's go inwards.

Radiate your body with gratitude for yourself.

Any thoughts you may have that make us feel unworthy of this feeling,

Of this love.

We don't deserve it,

Or we just don't matter.

Or any other stories you tell yourself.

Letting it go on the next exhale.

This story no longer serves you.

Feel this self-love,

This gratitude that you have for others,

For yourself now.

Maybe if you can,

Say in your mind,

I love you.

Or envision something about yourself that you're proud of drawing on anything right now for you.

And as you fill your body up with this feeling,

Even if it's difficult,

Feel your body feel brighter with this light.

Every cell in your body is being touched by this light,

By this love.

You are worthy of this love.

It was always there,

Inside of you.

You are love and loved.

Just bask in this light.

This is yours.

You're finding it difficult.

Maybe just smile.

Smile with this light.

I deserve to see myself in the same warm glow that I see others.

My light is abundant.

My joy is important.

I deserve to take up space.

Allow these words to ripple through you.

You deserve this space.

Coming back to the breath.

Basking in this light,

Space that you've created for yourself.

No matter how challenging,

That feeling is there within you.

Deepening the breath.

Coming back into the body.

Maybe slowing it down.

Setting an intention to remind yourself throughout the day of what you're grateful for.

Blinking open the eyes.

Coming back into the room.

Maybe noticing how you're feeling.

Notice the colours,

The space around you.

Maybe even your hands,

How you feel.

Thank you guys so much for joining me this morning.

Loved this mediation and exercise! It really resonated with me and I am truly grateful. Self love and allowing myself to take up space are things that I still struggle with. Thank you!🙏❤️
