Anchor Into How You Want To Feel

Hello and welcome everyone to this amazing NLP technique that I have been using to really establish and cultivate exactly how I want to feel in my life.

This technique is called anchoring and it has been so effective in helping so many of my clients,

Myself included,

Really manifest exactly how they want to feel in their lives.

So wherever you're at,

I'm going to ask you to find a comfortable seat.

So find a place where you can quiet your mind,

Where you can at least have little to no distractions so we can really focus on how we want to feel.

So once you establish that place,

Get nice and comfortable.

I suggest having both feet anchored down into the ground here.

This is going to help you feel safe to feel how you want to feel.

And then once you find that comfortable seat,

Go ahead and close your eyes,

Helping to turn all of your awareness inward,

Where you can focus on your body,

On your feelings,

And on any sensations that might be coming up for you.

And from here,

Take a couple nice big deep breaths.

So inhaling through the nose,

Filling up the lungs.

And as you exhale,

Imagine the body just relaxing into the seat that you're in.

And doing that two more times.

Inhale filling up the lungs,

Taking that nice big nourishing breath,

And then exhale,

Allow the body to relax.

Last time,

Inhale,

Breathing in.

And exhale,

Relaxing even more here.

So step number one in this anchoring technique is to determine how it is that you want to feel.

So how do you want to feel today,

In this moment,

This week?

Do you want to feel more confident?

Do you want to feel more joyful,

More connected,

More empowered,

More free?

Whatever it is,

Use that intuitive guidance to establish how it is you want to feel.

For this example here,

I'm going to be using confidence.

So once you have established and identified exactly how it is that you want to feel,

Bring to your mind's eye a time when you felt this way.

So for this example,

When you felt really confident,

That's what I'm going to focus on.

When was a time you felt this way?

It can be a memory of when you were feeling this way.

Under any circumstances,

You do have an example,

Believe it or not.

I want you to really start bringing in all of the feelings,

The emotions,

The sensations,

The conversations that this memory entails.

So really start to go into that memory.

Really start to relax here and let that memory come to mind in which you felt exactly how it was that you want to feel.

Especially focus on the feeling and the sensation.

Now step number three is to choose an anchor device that involves touch.

So a couple examples here are touching the thumb and index finger together or making a fist or placing your hand on your heart or interlacing your hands together.

Just choose an anchor device that involves touch that feels natural and something that you can use when you're out in public.

So you can really use this technique anywhere.

So something you won't be feeling awkward or weird about using.

I personally love to do a hand on heart.

That just feels really good.

But you choose what feels best for you.

So going back to that memory,

Once you have established what that device,

That anchoring device is for you,

Return back to that memory where you felt exactly how you wanted to feel.

So literally put yourself inside this memory as if you're reliving the entire experience.

Don't view this memory from a distance as like a third party.

The feelings won't come back.

Really step into it and start to relive that feeling that you felt.

Joy,

Confidence,

Whatever it was for you.

And from this place,

I want you to amplify that feeling.

Step into it even more.

Amplify the feeling that you want to feel.

Maybe you start to feel it in your entire body,

In every cell.

And then amplify it even more.

Step even more fully into this memory and into this feeling,

Really allowing that feeling to expand even beyond the physical body.

And one more time,

See if you can amplify this feeling even more.

And in this amplified state,

In this state that you want to feel,

Anchor it in with the device that you chose.

So taking the index and thumb together,

Hand on heart,

Making a fist,

Whatever it is,

Do it now.

Anchor it in.

Increase that feeling even more as you anchor in to the feeling.

Take a nice big deep breath and breathe in this feeling.

Breathe and anchor in with that device that you chose.

And then on your exhale,

Allow the hands to come back into the lap and take another deep breath here,

Breathing in and exhale,

Breathing out.

Now you can keep your eyes closed and just take your time coming out of this anchoring exercise.

The next step that you can do is you can test your anchor.

So you can test your anchor by,

You know,

Sometime throughout the day to day when you want to feel the way that you want to feel.

You connect the thumb and index finger.

You take your hand to your heart.

You do whatever it was that you had chose as your anchor and you should be able to feel that emotion immediately in your body.

It's a kinesthetic visceral experience.

So really step into that belief and allow this exercise to serve you as you go throughout your days.

It's so empowering to really know that you get to choose how it is that you want to feel.

The imagination is a beautiful thing,

Right?

We can make meaning out of anything.

We can imagine anything.

So why not imagine and step into the good?

Pretty cool,

Right?
