Welcome to this guided meditation for sleep,
As it's been designed not only to help you drift off to sleep,
But also for those who may feel anxious at sleep time.
I'd just like you to just place yourself in a position where you can comfortably fall asleep,
Or you can always sit and listen and then take yourself to bed,
Just ensuring that you're comfortable.
If you are laying down,
Just ensure that you're supported and can drift off gently without having to get up again.
And if you're ready,
Just take your attention to your breath,
Just gently breathing.
And if you are feeling a little anxious,
Just focus on your breath and just know that you are safe in this moment.
And tell your mind,
Violently within your mind or out loud,
However you feel comfortable,
That you're okay and that you are safe.
And that it's quite all right to just surrender.
And just allow this meditation to do its work and help you drift off to sleep.
It's okay.
Just take your attention back to your breath.
Nice big inhale and exhale.
Just finding your own rhythmic pattern of breath.
Not too fast.
If it is fast,
Just try and slow it down.
And while you're laying or sitting,
I'd like you to imagine that you have this beautiful placement of a hand on your forehead.
Just gently touching your forehead.
Noticing the feeling,
How this feels.
The warmth and attentiveness.
The relief.
Then imagine this hand being taken away,
But that same feeling remains on your forehead.
This gentle touch remains.
I'd like you to take that energy from that touch and turn it into a beautiful ball of warm light.
Almost like a full moon.
Imagine this beautiful light moving to the top of your head,
To the crown area.
And then just beautifully and gently entering down into your,
Into your skull,
Into your mind.
Just moving slowly and gently through your body.
Right through your brain,
All the way.
Top of spine.
Moving all the way down.
All the way through the spine.
Gently soothing each nerve within the body.
All the way to the base of the spine.
Imagine this beautiful light just gathering.
All those little anxieties along the way.
Maybe some you don't even know are there.
Allow it to stay down in with your,
In between your hips.
Allow this light to move within your hips.
Nourishing.
Soothing.
Even moving from one side to the other,
Just releasing tension.
Gathering any stress that may be residing there.
Allow this beautiful ball of light to move up through your organs.
That beautiful light shining all the way,
All the way through to the back,
Front,
Sides.
Moving up to the ribcage and circling each rib,
Bone,
Your beautiful armour.
Protecting your precious,
Precious organs,
Your lungs and your heart.
And as you breathe in,
Imagine this beautiful,
Fresh energy entering your lungs,
Your prana.
Soothing the lungs.
This beautiful ball of light moves to your heart space.
Just gathering any aches,
Worries.
Your heart may be holding any anxieties.
And take that light back down into the stomach area.
Just above the belly button.
And let it do the same thing there,
Just let it gather any anxieties.
And then let it float all the way back up your body,
All the way back up into your brain.
Almost like a magnet just collecting anything that doesn't serve you.
And then imagine that light coming outside your brain,
Sitting outside your body,
The top of your crown.
And just take a nice inhale.
Exhale.
And just in your mind's eye,
Just imagine this beautiful ball of light starts to move up into the sky,
Into that night sky,
That beautiful night sky of stars.
Just gets further and further away until you just can't see it anymore.
Just taking away all that stuff that no longer serves you.
And then just let that vision go and come back to your space,
Come back to the surface that you're on.
Where you are.
And just take a deep breath here.
New energy.
Just noticing your eyelids.
Noticing your eyelids touching.
How marvelous it is that our eyes can close to allow us to drift off to sleep.
Take comfort in this.
Just allow these veils to set in your mind.
Stay and allow yourself to drift.
Just feel that breath.
Just enjoy this stillness.
You're totally safe.
Just release any tightness within the feet and just allow them to just fall naturally.
If you're sitting,
You may like to lay down now.
Just let your feet relax.
Just let your palms relax.
Maybe move your legs a little.
Just finding a comfortable position.
Just release those thighs.
If they're tense,
Sometimes we tense our legs when we're thinking.
Just allow the legs to be loose.
Nice big inhale and exhale here.
To wherever they need to.
If you need to roll over you can or stay,
That's okay.
Take that breath down into your belly.
Just allow those shoulder blades to relax now.
Your arms.
No more thinking.
Just drifting.
Face relaxes.
Your eyes are heavy.
And just breathe.
Just allow yourself to drift to sleep.
Knowing that when you wake,
You will have this beautiful fresh energy within you.
And you have a restful sleep.
