Welcome!

Today we're going to be exploring the embodiment of joy and play.

We often struggle with joy and play as adults when we have to grow up too fast as children or when we're taught that joy and play are not admirable traits for whatever reason,

Perhaps role modeling or maybe overt messaging when we are children.

Joy and play are vital to our life force,

Despite the lack of space we have for it in our current culture as adults.

So even based on the unspoken messages of our cultural norms,

We may repress our need for joy and play as adults.

Eventually,

This creates a block for us to accessing joy and play all together.

So today we'll work on experiencing the embodiment of joy and play so that you can begin to release the blocks you may have and start embracing more joy and play in your daily life.

Find a comfortable position,

Blankets,

Pillows,

Whatever you need.

Lay down and close your eyes and begin to empty your mind.

Make it simple.

Simply let go of the thoughts,

Agendas,

Fears,

Stories of your daily life.

Just let them leave your brain with ease.

Breathing them out or letting them go,

However feels good for you.

And then begin to tune into your body.

Imagine that you are a beautiful tree,

Whatever tree you desire,

That begins to grow leaves and roots and branches,

Extending bit by bit into the sky,

Feeling the sun on your leaves and branches as you grow.

Becoming more and more stable and strong.

As you do,

You release all the human concerns you once had.

Simply living in the now.

As a stable tree swaying softly in the breeze.

Notice how it feels to be supported by earth and one with nature.

No need for agendas,

Intellectualizing,

Problem solving.

Your only job is to exist.

Taking a moment to experience in your body what it feels like to just exist.

The calm,

The centering,

The freedom to be in the moment.

Taking three more breaths here to let go of anything else in your system that still needs to go.

For now,

Without trying to analyze it or make it complicated,

Just simply exhaling.

Now,

In your mind's eye,

Find a safe space that's meant just for you.

This space is supported by your spiritual support team,

Whoever they may be.

Animals,

Ancestors,

Nature.

Even if you can't see them,

They're there.

And here in this space,

It's the perfect temperature.

It's the perfect weather.

And it's just for you.

You find a beautiful spot to sit and here you invite in your inner child.

The part of you who's free from history and pain and embodies your wild child self.

The part of you who loves to play and is not afraid to feel joy.

Noticing how your wild inner child looks,

Their body language,

And what they are doing.

What does your wild inner child like to do?

And how do they feel?

Just observe this part of you that so often does not have the freedom they deserve.

Does your wild inner child want you to join in with them?

If so,

How do you feel about it?

Releasing the inner critic.

Giving the inner critic part of you that may come up with judgments about being embodied,

Enjoying play.

Allowing that part of you to be held in a separate space with a spiritual support that allows that part of you to feel fully seen and loved while you return your attention to tend.

To your wild inner child.

Turning back to your wild inner child,

What would it feel like to join them?

Allow yourself to do so,

If even just a little bit.

And as you do,

Notice what changes in your body,

What changes in your energy as you begin to join with your wild inner child,

Or even when you witness your wild inner child.

Taking your time to explore joy and play in the way that your body wants to do so.

Letting go of all the rules or expectations you may have learned and just existing in the full embodiment of play.

Really notice how does joy and play feel and live in your body.

Now listen carefully.

Your wild inner child wants you to incorporate joy and play into your daily life.

Your wild inner child will tell you how to do so.

This inner child part may also have an important message for you.

A mantra,

A gift,

A symbol,

Something to help you remember.

Now we'll thank your wild inner child part for showing up and being unapologetically themselves.

Placing a spiritual support with this wild inner child to stay and be consistently there for this part of you.

And then taking the entire space and placing it somewhere safely in your body so you can care for this part of you at all times.

Knowing that you can come back to this space at any time,

You'll begin to return to the space that you're in in the here and now.

Remembering what your inner child said.

You can come back to reconnect with joy and playful energy at any time.

I thank you for joining me on this short meditation and I will look forward to reconnecting with you in the future.
