Take a moment to lengthen your spine.

Tune into your breath.

Notice.

Notice how your body feels.

Where you're holding your tension.

And then take a deep breath.

And on the exhale,

Release the tension in the body.

Let it melt away with the breath.

If nothing else,

Just keep your focus on the breath.

The inhales and exhales.

Using the exhales as an opportunity to release.

And relax.

To all the artists out there,

At a time when you're feeling non-essential,

The world needs you.

The world needs you.

Remember this,

It's the artists that are making us laugh and giving us hope right now.

It's the artists that are showing us the beauty in the world and uncovering hidden joy.

And it's the artists that are putting their hearts and souls out there for a world that needs a whole lot of hugs right now.

It's a scary time to be an artist.

It's a scary time to be non-essential.

It's a scary time to be an artist.

I'm certainly examining my life path and wondering how I ended up here,

Unemployed and fearful.

And it's also a time of creativity and rebirth.

You can't do the paid jobs,

So all you can do are the passion projects.

You can't sell anything,

So all you can do is serve.

You really don't have a lot to lose right now.

Let that set you free.

Let that set you free.

You're free to create with abandon and imagine without limitations.

Trust it.

Embrace it.

Use the freedom to heal yourself.

Now,

More importantly than ever,

We have to remember how to put fear aside and access the connection to our hearts.

We have to connect to our soul and our true nature.

We have to connect to the artist inside and reclaim creativity.

Feel the fear.

Experience it.

Question what it is teaching you.

Feel it in the body.

Locate its hiding place.

And then kick it out.

Replace it with the simple power of your breath.

Replace it with love,

Compassion,

And empathy.

Relax it away.

Take it away.

Aggressively.

Fiercely find your peace.

That is essential.

Sit with your fear.

Sit with the fact that you are essential.

Listen.

And breathe.
