Hi,
Brenda Stott Tomlinson with a guided meditation around releasing the stress and overwhelm that come from having too many responsibilities,
Too many things on your plate.
So get comfortable.
Grab a journal,
A pen,
Have your water handy.
And then take a deep breath in.
It's time to go within.
Getting more comfortable and closing your eyes.
Settling into this moment as you breathe in and out through your nose.
Slow and steady breaths in and out through your nose.
Allow the edges of your eyes to soften.
Jaw slightly open.
Shoulders drop.
Your thoughts will come and go.
And if you start thinking about this or that,
Come back to your breath.
Silently repeating in on the in breath and out on the out breath.
Letting those thoughts pass by and coming back to the breath.
Now slowing that breath down even more.
The edges of your eyes are soft.
The jaw is open.
Your shoulders drop.
The rhythm of your breath helps you to release and let go of any tension your body is holding.
Now using the breath and your imagination,
Bring your attention to your root chakra.
Your root chakra is located at the base of your spine.
Keep your attention there.
And now imagine roots are extending from your root chakra and these roots are moving deep into the earth.
They're going as deep and as wide as they need to support and anchor you right now.
Slow the breath down a little bit more.
Eyes soft.
Jaw relaxed.
Shoulders drop.
And with this next breath,
Take a deep breath in and let the breath fill your body.
And then on the exhale,
Send the breath back down through the roots.
Now in this breath,
Take a deep breath in,
Pulling up the earth's energy through these roots.
Fill your body.
And on the exhale,
Send the breath back down into the earth.
Do this one more time.
Take a deep breath in,
Pulling up the earth's energy into your body and send the breath back down through these roots deep into the earth.
Fully grounding you with the earth's energy.
Eyes melt.
Jaw relaxed.
Shoulders drop.
Feeling fully supported and anchored to go deeper within.
There's so much on your plate.
So many responsibilities.
Allow them all to come and go.
Now,
Moving into a time of releasing the stress and overwhelm from all these responsibilities,
I want you to change your breath.
Breathing in through your nose on the in-breath and breathing out through your mouth on the out-breath.
Using your breath and intention to help move out and release the stress and overwhelm from your body.
So take a slow deep breath in and on the exhale release the stress.
Letting it all go.
Breathing in again through your nose and on the exhale breathing out the stress.
Really moving it out with your breath.
Feel your shoulders relax.
Releasing stress.
And on this next breath,
On the exhale,
Release the overwhelm trapped in your body.
Moving out the overwhelm with your breath.
Taking another deep breath in and on the exhale release the overwhelm.
Let go of the overwhelm,
Letting it go from every cell of your body.
Letting it all go.
Nice mouth,
Jaw slightly open,
Shoulders relaxed.
Now coming back to breathing in and out through the nose.
Slow steady breaths.
Gradually finding again the rhythm of your breath that's right for you.
You feel lighter after letting all that negative energy go.
Your body feels supported.
Now listen for that still inner voice.
Whatever comes through is perfect.
Your body bringing truth.
No judgment,
Just awareness.
Listen for whatever you need to know.
Now taking a little deeper breath,
Bringing you back to just the right level of awareness.
You are the only one who knows what you are thinking about.
You are the only one who knows what you are feeling.
Continue with slow steady breaths in and out the nose.
Then listen from within for any last bits of guidance and direction.
Have a seat.
Now on the out breath,
Let everything else go.
Facing your hand on your heart,
Thank your body for all it does for you.
Slowly breathing in and out through the nose,
Eyes soft,
Jaw open,
Shoulders relaxed.
Remembering again what you need to take with you from this experience within.
And with the next breath,
Slowly open your eyes.
Feeling alert,
Clear of mind,
And relaxed.
Now grab your journal and write down what came through.
Blessings
