The me is the illusion.
The self is the illusion.
Based on this illusion,
There's the past and the future.
Can one see this actually in one's living?
The speaker has emphasized this question quite a few times today.
Because it is very tricky to convey this fact from one person to another.
Because the mind is always thinking,
Always translating,
Always avoiding,
Escaping.
Fact is fact.
It is not an idea or theory or speculation.
It can be only seen by a mind that can imitate the thoughts by itself.
Which means that if you really see the facts actually,
The mind has already imitated itself.
Because seeing the facts actually is already embodying this quality of mind.
This moment,
There's no future.
When there's a future,
The mind never really sees this moment.
It is in two different dimensions which are never compatible.
When the mind sees it only belongs to this moment,
Its relation with everything in this world is totally transformed.
When the mind is trapped in the future,
All those relations are mere thought processes,
Concepts.
The relationship between the husband and the wife is a thought process.
The two minds don't see each other at all.
The husband has an image about the wife and the wife has an image about the husband.
Therefore,
There's only relationship between the two images,
Not two persons.
Also,
The friendship.
The mind regards the other as one's friends because of one's own preference,
Liking or disliking.
Based on whether one can really derive pleasure,
Satisfaction from this relationship.
So this relationship is always conceptual.
Therefore,
It is always contradictory,
Always confusing.
And such a mind which is trapped in its own future actually only loves oneself.
Because the mind is trapped in this future,
This personal experience,
This self-isolation.
Conceptually,
One thinks one has a lot of friends,
A lot of relationships.
But actually,
One is merely isolated by thoughts.
One has no relationship at all in such an existence.
And this is a fact.
But the mind is afraid to see that.
