Closure can be hard to find, not because we don't want it, but because our minds tend to want to keep us in what we know (even when that isn't serving!). With this practice, you can cultivate closure with safety (not force), to ease your nervous system into adjusting to a new reality. You will find a blend of breathing and affirmations to naturally arrive at a new place.

Hi and welcome to this meditation practice designed to bring you into a place of closure.

Closure can often be one of the hardest things to cultivate.

Many times we know we need to find it,

But we don't really want to.

We want to hold on to what is,

To what we know,

To what feels comfortable,

Even when we know deep down that this is no longer serving us.

Others,

We look outward for closure.

We think we need to hear words or actions from somebody else to bring us this peace.

Then there are the times that we just so desperately want this closure,

But we don't know how to give it to ourselves.

We want to move on,

But our mind is still going over and over,

Refusing to believe.

I want to begin this practice by honoring all of this experience.

Closure is not something we can force.

When we force it,

It fights back.

Closure is something we need to surrender to.

As we begin this practice,

Roll the shoulders back a little.

See if you can sit taller with a straighter spine,

Relax the jaw,

The space between the eyes,

And then see if you can take a few moments just to notice where else you may be gripping on within the body,

And sending your exhale to those spaces,

Signaling that it is safe to soften here,

Connecting to the breath,

And seeing if you can create an invitation just to slow it down a second or two,

Letting yourself fully arrive in the safety of this space.

As we come into our practice of statements that I invite you to either repeat out loud,

Repeat in your mind,

Or just let land from me speaking them,

You may feel called to place a hand on the heart here to fully cement these words into the space,

Or maybe place your palms up on your lap to receive this energy.

If you haven't done so already,

Closing down the eyes,

Letting your breath anchor you into this space,

As we come to receive.

All the closure I need lies within me.

I am grateful for the lessons this chapter has given me.

I know in my heart it is time to turn the page on this chapter.

I am safe to let go and to move forward.

I trust this redirection is for my greatest and highest good.

I know everything is unfolding as it should be.

I trust all that is meant for me is on its way to me.

I know divine timing is orchestrating for me.

I am ready to let go so I can receive.

Taking a deep inhale in,

Breathing into these words,

Into the energy they have created,

Opening the mouth,

Exhale,

Sigh it out.

Take two more like this,

Breathing in.

And then I want you to bring your hands into fists,

Either out in front of you or down in the lap.

And I want you to squeeze these fists as hard as you possibly can,

Not causing yourself pain or harm,

Just creating this squeezing sensation.

Really building this tension,

Feeling it build and build and build.

Taking a deep out in,

Squeezing even harder.

And then as you exhale,

Release the hands.

Feel the lightness,

The sensation you feel.

Seeing that switch from when we go to gripping,

Forcing,

Struggling,

To just letting it go.

Releasing a hold,

Surrendering to what is.

Feel the lightness that is available to you when you release this grip.

And it's okay to sit with any emotion that comes from releasing this situation,

From cultivating closure.

And I invite you to allow yourself to be here,

And to also come back as many times as you need to.

As I said,

We can't force closure.

Often it's a practice that we must return to again and again,

Showing our nervous system that it is safe,

And bringing our mind back when it wants to wander into what it already knows.

Thank you so much for joining me in this practice.

I honour you for stepping into this space,

And I hope to meditate with you again soon.
