This meditation explores forgiveness as an act of self-liberation — not forgetting, excusing, or accepting harmful behavior, but releasing the grip that pain has on your heart. Through breathwork, reflection, and affirmations, you’ll learn to forgive others without losing your boundaries and forgive yourself without carrying shame. Discover the strength it takes to forgive, the peace it brings, and the space it creates for the life you deserve.

Welcome to Peace Over Everything,

A collection of meditations and affirmations.

Find a quiet,

Comfortable place.

Close your eyes.

Let this be a moment for your heart to breathe.

Take a deep inhale through your nose.

Hold.

Hold.

Exhale slowly through your mouth,

Letting your body soften.

Again,

Inhale,

Fill your lungs completely.

Exhale,

Release the tightness you've been holding.

Let your shoulders drop.

Let your breath settle.

Today,

We meet forgiveness.

Not as something you should do,

But as a gift you choose to give yourself.

Forgiveness is not pretending it didn't happen.

Forgiveness is not saying it was okay.

Forgiveness is not letting someone bypass accountability.

Forgiveness is release.

It's release.

It is unhooking yourself from the grip of the past.

It is choosing peace over what hurts you.

Now gently bring to mind someone who has hurt you.

I know.

Try not to dive deep into the details.

Just acknowledge your image.

Notice how your body feels.

And say silently or aloud,

I do not excuse what happened.

I do not forget what I've learned.

But I choose to release the hold this has on my heart.

I choose my freedom over my resentment.

I choose peace for myself.

Let that release ripple through you.

Even if only a little.

Now turn that same light inward.

Bring to mind something you have held against yourself.

A mistake,

A regret,

A moment you wish you could redo.

Place your hand over your heart and say,

I forgive myself for what I did not know then.

I forgive myself for being human.

I release the need to punish myself for growing.

I choose to carry compassion instead of shame.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Forgiving yourself for anyone else is not weakness.

It is how you make it.

It is how you make room for the life you deserve.

And here's the truth.

Forgiveness is not the end of the story.

It is the opening of a new chapter.

When you forgive,

You create space for joy.

When you forgive,

You reclaim your energy for what matters.

When you forgive,

You remember that you are stronger than the hurt.

Say to yourself,

Forgiveness is my strength.

Forgiveness is my choice.

Forgiveness is my gift to myself.

I release.

I reclaim.

I rise.

I release.

I reclaim.

I make room.

Take one last deep breath in.

Inhaling peace.

Exhaling release.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes gently.

Carry this truth with you.

Forgiveness doesn't change the past.

It changes your future.

And today,

You choose peace over everything.

I think forgiveness is one of the most misunderstood and yet freeing acts that we can offer ourselves.

This meditation holds both sides.

Forgiving others and forgiving ourselves.

I feel like when we do one,

We can usually do the other.

And for some reason,

Forgiving ourselves can feel a lot harder and heavier.

So just remember that forgiveness is not condoning or forgetting,

But releasing the grip the hurt has on your peace.

I hope this honors the strength that it takes and the transformation it can bring you.
