Good morning and welcome to the Artist's Morning.
My name's Darius and today's guided meditation practice will be on the theme of unconditional love,
Specifically our worthiness for unconditional love.
I'll guide you the whole way through.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable seat and if your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to close them as we go inwards together.
Finding our meditation nice and slow.
Taking a moment just to land.
Taking the seat beneath you.
Noticing your breath.
The rising and falling of your chest.
Just giving yourself permission to feel exactly as you are.
Taking a nice deep breath here as we begin to go a little deeper.
As with all of my meditations,
There will be invitations,
Opportunities for you to play with me,
To explore with me.
Each morning is different.
You get to feel into how far,
How deep you'd like to go.
Take a nice deep breath,
Holding at the top of your inhale.
Just hold for a moment as you hold the tension,
Bringing your shoulders up and letting it all go on your exhale now.
One more time,
Breathing in,
Holding and letting it all go.
Allowing any tension,
Perhaps around your shoulders,
Your back,
Just to melt away here.
There's a lot we hold.
A lot emotionally,
Physically.
Tons of others,
Of our family,
Our friends.
It's an invitation to let,
Let it all go.
You can put it all back if you'd like,
But for now,
If you're open to it,
What's it like to open your heart space?
What's it like to sit up tall and strong?
Maybe it feels nice.
Maybe it feels something else.
There's no way you need to feel here,
Just opportunities to see what comes up for you naturally.
I know many of you listening to this meditation have built a life with dreams,
Aspirations,
Accomplishments,
Successes,
Titles,
Status.
No matter how big or small,
All of us have accomplished things and all of us have things we are longing to accomplish.
All of that is great.
And with this meditation,
I'd like to remind you that you are worthy of love without your accomplishments,
Without your status,
Your title,
Your kindness.
You are worthy of love.
You've always been worthy of love.
It's wonderful that you have goals and you do things in the world,
But please,
Dear artist,
Please dear creator,
Don't get it mixed up and think you need to do things and be someone to be worthy of love.
I'm going to say that again because it's really important.
You do not need to be anyone,
Do anything,
Accomplish anything,
Have anything to be worthy of love.
Notice how that statement is received by your heart.
All of the things,
All of the accomplishments,
Perhaps they are lovely and add so much to your life and for this moment,
I want you to imagine they are layers of clothing,
Sweaters,
Jackets,
Coats.
Imagine they're draped over you.
Yes,
They might feel comfortable,
They might provide you with some protection from the weather.
They might even look really beautiful and stylish and it's great to be thankful for them.
For the purposes of our meditation,
We're going to play together here and I want you to imagine taking off those layers,
The big winter coat,
The smaller winter coat,
The jackets,
The sweaters getting lighter and lighter,
The shirts getting lighter and lighter and underneath it all,
There's a beautiful child,
A five year old version of you in a shirt and shorts with a big smile on their face.
Can you see this five year old version of yourself?
Can you love this five year old version of yourself?
Beautiful child.
This child has the energy of the first week of summer,
Ready to play,
Ready to explore.
Beautiful child,
This five year old version of yourself does not need to do anything,
Does not need to make money,
Does not need to have status or own anything to be worthy of love.
Will you take this five year old version of yourself for a little walk?
Will you hold their hand and go for a little adventure?
If you are open to it,
I want you to imagine their little hand in your hand.
Can you see their haircut?
Can you see their little smile?
Are you willing and open to love this beautiful little child?
Bravo,
Dear artist.
Maybe you felt very connected with this five year old version of yourself and maybe it was very hard for you to stay there.
With this last track,
I'd like to invite you to begin again,
To let go of the past,
To let go of the beginning of this meditation and to begin again.
I'm going to stay quiet for most of this song and give you an opportunity if you're open to spend some time with this five year old version of yourself.
Where will you go together?
Maybe you'll stay right here and that's okay too.
What will you do?
What will you share with your little self?
And what perhaps does your little self have to share with you?
Come on.
Oh Oh You You You Bravo dear artist you made it to the end of this meditation For that I am grateful For those of you joining us live at the artists morning I'm gonna put 20 minutes on the clock and invite you to do some private personal journaling If you're catching us on a replay You can do the same put some time on your own clock and see what's here and ready To work its way through you through your pen onto your paper Thank you for meditating with me.
