Hello and thank you for joining me.
If you found your way to this track,
You might have been wanting to meditate,
But you have been putting it off.
Maybe you don't feel like it,
Or perhaps it has been a busy season at work and little things just keep calling for your attention.
Suddenly,
You realize that there is no time left in the day for a meditation practice.
Even when your meditation practice is a great source of pleasure,
You may find yourself avoiding it at times.
Become aware of the resistance and my invitation to you is to work with it.
First of all,
Congratulations for making it here today.
Now let's pause for a moment to take a deep breath.
Breathing in deeply,
Exhaling fully.
Without judgment,
Ask yourself.
What it is that is stopping you from being able to meditate?
Is it busyness,
Boredom,
Restlessness,
Anxiety?
See what comes up and just name it.
What does it feel like to not want to meditate?
Does it have a texture,
A color,
A temperature?
Is there a feeling of resistance?
If so,
Where do you feel it in your body?
See if you can breathe into these feelings without avoiding the emotion and just be with it.
Congratulations on making it this far.
I know it may have been a little bit challenging,
But you have done really well.
Your meditation journey is a lifetime of practice.
There will be days or even periods that you will experience resistance and the key is to take small steps.
If it feels right,
I invite you to try a little longer the next round or perhaps revisit this one again.
Remember to be kind to yourself and there is a reason why this is called a practice.
