Today our topic is inner child.
Your inner child is the part of you that holds all of your childhood emotions and experiences both positive and negative.
Mental health experts and philosophers both agree that the inner child can affect your feelings,
Your reactions,
Your behaviors as an adult.
So could you think about that relationship?
You are the same spirit now as ever as before you came into this body as when you were a child.
Your perspective changes obviously,
Your experience has changed,
But you take you with you wherever you go.
So there's no need to dive into painful memories or sort out traumas at this point.
Of course if you feel the need please seek out a medical professional.
Today we're simply bringing awareness,
We're observing,
And we're sending love that healing energy to ourselves.
The meditation I'm sharing today is one I've adapted from Laura Soltani's inner child visualization.
All right if you haven't already please find a comfortable space either sitting down or lying down.
Get comfortable,
You can close your eyes.
We're going to start by taking three deep breaths together,
Inhaling through the nose,
Exhaling through your mouth,
And focusing on bringing that breath all the way down to your belly,
Really expanding your belly like a balloon.
If you would inhale and exhale.
Again,
Inhale and exhale.
One more time,
Inhale and return to your normal breathing.
And as you relax,
Allow your spine to lengthen and straighten.
You can roll your shoulders back to open your chest and your heart center.
Feel the weight of your body evenly distributed as it comes into contact with the surface beneath you.
Allow the palms of your hands to rest facing up either on your lap or beside you.
And continue to breathe deeply.
Tuning into your breath and into your body.
The next few minutes together you will be going deep into your heart center,
Meeting your inner child,
And listening and loving her.
So if you would imagine in front of you is a beautiful staircase.
You're at the top.
What does it look like?
Where do you imagine you are?
And what are you wearing?
You begin to descend down the staircase.
And as I count to one,
You will be in a deep,
Relaxed,
Focused state at the bottom of the stairs.

8,
7,
6,
2,
1.
Total relaxation.
You will now enter your heart center.
And visualize your heart with gates and the door.
What does the gate look like?
Walk up to the door and open it.
And as you walk through,
You enter a beautiful garden.
As you continue to walk into this garden,
What sights do you see?
What smells do you smell?
As you walk into the garden,
Look for your inner child.
What is she doing?
How is she?
How is she feeling?
Now,
If you can,
Ask her to come over towards you and start to have a conversation with her.
Listen to her.
What does she need that she does not have?
How can you help?
How can you love her in a way that you were never loved?
Now,
Take a few minutes to have a beautiful conversation together.

How did your conversation go?
How is she feeling now?
What is she doing now?
Is she more playful,
Loving,
Or confident?
Take a minute to observe.
When you are ready,
Look deep into her beautiful eyes and tell her how much you love her and that she is never alone.
And because now you know how to reach her,
You will come back very soon to play and to love and to hold her.
She never needs to be scared again.
Give her a big hug and tell her goodbye.
When you walk out of the garden,
You see her skipping away in her beautiful,
Childlike,
Playful nature,
And you feel comforted.
You feel confident that you are running the show.
You've got this,
And your inner child can just be a child.
Upon reawakening,
You will remember all that has been communicated to you.
You will feel refreshed,
Awake,
Feeling happy and aligned with your future self.
On the count of five,
Open your eyes.
One,
Become aware of your hands,
Your arms,
Your feet,
And your legs.
Two,
Feel that energy awaken you.
The feeling of being refreshed.
Three,
Feel balanced and grounded.
Four,
Returning to your fully awakened state.
Five,
Feeling wide awake.
You can open your eyes and welcome back to your new reality.
