Namaste sannyasa family and everyone.

A very warm welcome to all of you in this daily live meditation session with me,

Dhyan Se.

We are meditating on 112 meditation techniques of Vigyan Bhairav Tantra.

On this spiritual path,

As the ray of awareness,

It strikes you and it opens your consciousness.

As your meditation starts to show you something new,

A new clarity appears in front of you and you start to see the world with those new eyes,

With that awareness which arises on this spiritual path.

Suddenly,

Everything that was making sense does not make sense anymore.

Suddenly,

You realize you are in the middle of a madhouse.

Suddenly,

Everything was fine and for a moment,

In this spiritual awakening,

In this new clarity,

Nothing makes sense anymore.

In this phase of the journey where the awareness opens up a new door,

A new way to look at things,

As you meditate regularly,

As this meditation becomes this door,

This opening,

This third eye into the world,

And you start to see the madness all around,

You start to see the absurdity of the mundane all around,

The temptation and the initial reaction is to run away,

Is to renounce,

Is to somehow leave this mundane,

Leave this world,

Leave this madness and go somewhere,

Escape somewhere.

This temptation,

This feeling,

This thought,

It arises to every meditator,

To every person who goes through this awakening,

Where in the sleep the dream was beautiful,

Everything looked fine,

You knew what to do,

You knew what life was,

You knew somehow who you were,

The definitions of who you are,

But when the real awakening happens,

When this spiritual journey comes to a point where meditation opens up a new clarity,

A new vision to look at life,

You suddenly see all what you know,

All what you knew does not make any sense anymore,

And the absurdity,

The craziness,

The madness of the mundane,

Of how everything is around you becomes overwhelming.

In that phase,

In that stage,

In those moments,

This thought of escaping to a monastery,

Renouncing everything and going somewhere,

It becomes very overpowering,

Everyone feels that thought,

Some even may think of leaving this life itself,

All these crazy thoughts come up,

All these temptations come up to go somewhere,

To escape this mundane.

But wait,

This is just half the circle,

This is just a milestone of the journey of spirituality.

Meditation,

Spirituality is not an escape,

It is rather participation in life,

It is rather participation in this journey of life to the very fullest.

You have your eyes closed in meditation,

But it means that you are having your eyes open to life,

With full awareness and with full participation into life.

You are not running far away from life,

Rather you are at the very centre of life.

You were earlier at the periphery of life,

And by this awakening,

By this awareness,

You want to be somewhere else.

You don't want to be on this periphery of the mundane,

Of the routine,

Of how this world is,

How other people are,

And all that stuff.

You may want to run far away,

But the destination is at the centre,

At the centre of life,

And being in this world,

Participating in this world,

Participating in the mundane with new awareness.

As this journey becomes from the doer to the observer,

In other words,

When you were just doing all the time without knowing what you were doing,

And you were just caught up in doing on the periphery,

When this takes a jump from the doer to the observer,

When for the very first time you are the observer,

You see what you are doing,

You want to leave the doing,

And you give that beautiful names,

Beautiful explanations,

Beautiful rationals,

Why you are doing nothing,

Why you shouldn't be doing nothing and just meditating or renouncing the world.

Two wives,

They were talking about things,

Many things.

One said to the other,

In the last meeting,

You said your husband,

He lost his job,

And he was doing nothing.

How about now?

She said,

Yes,

Now he is meditating.

The other said,

Meditating?

What's that?

The first wife said,

I also don't know,

But it's somehow better than sitting and doing nothing.

Don't use meditation and spirituality as a substitute to doing nothing,

As an excuse to doing nothing.

Go participate in the world,

Do something,

Because without the doer,

The observer is also useless.

What will the observer observe?

What will the observer learn?

How will you learn about yourself?

You will not learn about yourself in the monastery.

In the monastery is also the mundane waiting for you,

In that renunciation,

Once again that mundane is waiting for you.

So if you are living that mundane,

Live that mundane fully,

Why be also the observer,

The doer and the observer?

Keep the doing,

Continue the doing,

Because without doing,

The observer has nothing to observe.

The observer cannot learn anything about yourself.

You will not know who you are unless you are both the doer and the observer.

And comes a point when this doing and observing fall in a certain synchronicity,

When this action and inaction falls in a certain synchronicity and the action becomes inaction,

The inaction becomes the action.

It is known as this Vai Wu Vai in Taoism and there is a reference in every tradition of this action becoming inaction,

The inaction becoming the action.

But don't stop the action,

Don't stop the mundane,

Don't stop living,

Don't stop participating in life,

Participating in the world.

While you do that,

Be the observer,

Learn about yourself,

Maintain that centeredness,

Maintain that center from which you observe the periphery.

On this journey also many questions arise,

Let us take one short question before we jump into the technique for today and move into silence.

The title of the question from the meditator in our community is,

How long is too long?

When I am able to get in deep meditation,

Time doesn't matter.

I have always used an app or children to bring me back.

How long should I go deep?

Is there a negative if you go for too long?

Let me repeat this question.

When I am able to get in deep meditation,

Time does not matter.

I have always used an app or children to bring me back.

How long should I go deep?

Is there a negative if you go for too long?

I could give you some words of appreciation for touching those depths,

For being in the depths of meditation,

But here the question arises which says something about your practice,

Worth being aware of,

Worth noticing.

If in your depths of meditation,

Really time did not matter,

Then this question would not have come up in the first place.

So please see that this question came up,

It simply shows that time still matters.

You are still in the time.

What you are calling as the time does not matter in my depths of meditation is still somewhere a suspension.

You are somewhere in a suspension.

You are maybe not at the periphery,

You are not with the mundane,

But you are somewhere in a hangover,

In a suspension.

You are not yet to those depths where time does not matter.

Because if that would be the case,

This question would not arise.

How long should I go deep?

This is once again,

Understand that once you are touching this dimension of timeless,

What does this mean to touch this dimension of timeless?

That it does not matter how long you were there in the depth.

It is not a matter of time,

It is a qualitative shift in your consciousness.

Once you touch those depths,

There is a shift in your consciousness.

There is a distance that is created with this whole mundane.

And in this qualitative shift of your consciousness,

This shift can happen in a second,

This shift can happen in minutes,

It can take hours,

It can take lifetimes.

So it is not a matter of how long you sit in those depths of meditation.

It is a matter of this shift of consciousness.

And you will know this shift.

When this shift happens,

You in your own experience will know when that shift has happened.

When that shift has happened,

The irony is that you may not sit in meditation anymore.

And it would not matter whether you come out of meditation.

So therefore,

When that shift happens is the true timelessness.

Where it would not matter if you would come out of the meditation and move into the mundane.

And it would also not matter if you just let everything be and go all the way into those depths.

This idea of coming back,

This idea of how long do I need to be in those depths would not arise.

Is there a negative if you go for too long?

If you go for too long in the suspension,

In this imagination that you are in the depths of meditation,

Yes,

There is a pitfall there,

There is a danger there that you get caught up in the imagination that you are in the depths,

That you are in meditation and you remain in that hanging,

In that suspension.

So please remember meditation is also not that suspension.

It is not just that visualization which is created by your mind that you are somewhere in a silent space.

You may use that visualization as a technique,

That space that your mind also projects that you are in this bright white light.

Or you are in this empty space.

Or you are in this space where there is no time.

So all these projections can be used as a technique.

And Tantra is using all these projections from your mind,

Your imaginations,

Your visualizations as a technique to show you something,

But to not keep you held in that imagination,

To keep you held in that technique,

To keep you held in that suspension.

What you have to do is also leave the technique.

It's to completely drop all effort,

All that technique.

So if you touch those depths once again,

Drop those depths,

Drop those ideas of those depths.

As they say in Buddhism,

When you come across the Buddha,

Kill the Buddha.

Kill all what your inner space is showing as a projection to you.

In those moments of silence,

In those moments if you feel that you are touching those depths,

Kill those depths.

Let that visualization go.

Drop that visualization and let things continue on their own.

And the minor practicality of it is,

If you need to manage your time in a way that you are requiring to go somewhere afterwards,

You may use an app or something to bring you back.

But while you are in these true depths,

While you are in this awareness of meditation,

You are also aware of everything.

There is this inclusivity of everything in those awareness.

This meditative awareness is not exclusive.

It is not eliminating the mundane.

Everything is there in that inclusivity of the awareness.

So if you were to move somewhere afterwards,

You will know how to come out of the meditation,

How to carry that awareness into the mundane as well.

Let us move on to the technique for today,

Briefly understand this and practice this in our meditation.

Bhairava says,

While sitting or laying down,

Imagine one's body as being supportless.

In moments when mind becomes empty and supportless,

One is liberated from mental dispositions.

Let me repeat.

While sitting or laying down,

So this technique can be done while sitting or laying down.

I would recommend you to do this technique while sitting,

But if you must,

If for some reason you have pain in the body,

You are suffering for some physical ailment,

You may lay down for this technique.

Imagine one's body as being supportless.

So it is an imagination where first of all,

Physically you put your body posture in a balance,

Which is allowing this imagination of you being supportless,

Your body being supportless.

And therefore you could also lay down or you could sit in a posture which is allowing your body to be so restful that you can move into this imagination that you are completely supportless.

Please remember this is an imagination that you are imagining your body to be supportless.

In that imagination,

What happens is,

Why to do this imagination?

Then your mind follows.

Bhairava says,

In the moments when mind becomes empty and supportless,

So in those moments while you are imagining your body is supportless,

Your mind follows along.

It also starts feeling that it is supportless.

All these thoughts,

All these ideas,

All these images,

All these emotions,

They provide a certain support to your mind.

They provide a certain support to constantly be engaged with.

When the body is supportless,

The mind also wants to be supportless.

Also,

Let's go of these thoughts,

Let's go of these emotions,

These imageries for a while and in this space without any support.

This may be referred to in many traditions as that spiritual levitation,

Which is misunderstood as the body being levitating.

The body is not levitating,

You are utilizing this as a technique that your body is supportless.

In that imagination,

In that contemplation of body being supportless,

Your mind starts to feel the same and gives you a sense of levitation,

Gives you a sense of supportlessness that you are floating in a space,

In a vast space,

Completely supportless.

When that happens,

One is liberated from mental dispositions.

So all what you are carrying in your mind,

Your past and all these ideas,

All for a while they are dropped and you are a part of this vast space.

Which is created first of all by the imagination of your mind,

Felt by your body and then your mind follows that as well.

Once you reach to that,

Drop this imagination,

Drop the technique and be in that silence,

Be in that awareness.

Please remember to drop the technique,

Please remember that you have to move from the technique to this silence and awareness which is real.

The technique may take the path of an imagination,

Of the unreal,

But it is to point at the real,

It is to take you to transition from the unreal to the real.

Let us close our eyes and take the next moments to practice this in our own silence.

Please close your eyes,

A sitting posture or laying down.

If you are sitting,

Make sure that your body is in balance,

That your head,

Neck and back are aligned.

Your body is not leaning forwards or backwards,

Nor to the right or to the left,

Nor feeling upwards or downwards.

It is finding its restful center.

Let us close our eyes and take a moment to practice this in our own silence.

Please close our eyes and take a moment to practice this in our own silence.

In your mind is visualization that your body is supportless.

Please close your eyes and take a moment to practice this in our own silence.

Please close your eyes and take a moment to practice this in our own silence.

Engaging your mind,

Your thought,

Your visualization,

Your emotion,

All your energies into feeling,

Into visualizing that your body is supportless.

Please close your eyes and take a moment to practice this in our own silence.

Please close your eyes and take a moment to practice this in our own silence.

Let us close our eyes and take a moment to practice this in our own silence.

Energy from all different directions pulled to your center and that center is supportless.

Thank you.
