Hello guys!

Good morning,

Good afternoon,

Good evening,

Depending on where you are.

I'm very happy to see you all here.

Thank you for joining this live.

Please know that I'm always happy to connect and to hear back from you.

I intend these live events to be like a dialogue,

Both side communication,

So please actively participate in the comment section,

Whether you have any comments,

Thoughts,

Or questions.

During our life.

A few words about me.

My name is Diana.

I'm a Mind-Body Connection coach,

A psychosomatic specialist,

And a meditation teacher.

So this is the third event of our series dedicated to mindful goodbye to the year.

So this is also the name of the course that will be released here next Friday on Insight Timer.

Three-day course that will help you to mindfully say goodbye to 2024 and welcome with fresh energy with strong intentions the new year.

So please guys subscribe to my profile to stay tuned to the upcoming live events that I will facilitate here before the new year and to know when the course is released.

Also,

These live events are recorded and I upload them as talks in my profile,

So they will be released already next year.

If you miss some parts or if you want to re-listen to some parts of our lives,

So please also feel free to do so.

The previous two events that I've hosted in this series were about gratitude,

Cultivating gratitude,

Saying thanks to the passing year.

The second live was about letting go and forgiving,

Which was a very powerful practice.

And we had a great discussion here with the community as well.

I truly enjoyed this live.

It wasn't easy.

I mean,

The practice of letting go is never easy,

Right?

But we did it together with mutual support.

It was amazing.

And today we are here for a not less important topic,

But celebrating our achievements in 2024.

And a bit later,

We will talk about why it is important,

Why we need to dedicate the whole life to our achievements,

To recognizing them,

To talk about them.

Well,

It has nothing to do with showing off,

But has a lot of benefits.

And of course,

Let's take a deep breath into the chest and belly area and release it slowly,

Allowing yourself to fully arrive into our space and enjoy our live event.

Of course,

I know that many of you are multitasking when listening,

And that's perfectly fine.

But just stay mindful of what is happening.

Just be totally present.

That is what I want to say.

It is a great practice at any time.

And let's,

Of course,

Set an intention for this session to celebrate incredible victories that I'm sure each of you had during this year.

We will acknowledge what you have accomplished.

Doesn't matter if it is something big or small.

We'll cultivate a deep sense of gratitude for your efforts and for showing up for yourself.

And this is a simple opportunity for all of us to remind ourselves that we are enough,

That we are doing enough to reclaim our power,

To feel empowered,

To achieve our goals in the next year.

And by the end of this session,

I hope that we will feel a sense of self-belief and inner peace with what was and what is coming.

So we are here,

Once again,

Not to compare ourselves to anyone or to each other,

But just to celebrate you,

Each one of you guys.

And,

Well,

Myself as well,

As I will be also practicing with you.

And each of us has unique paths.

We are all unique.

And we are here just to support each other and to share the victories.

So I hope this sets the tone for our session.

Also,

I would like to emphasize that it is a safe space for all of us just to be ourselves,

To express ourselves authentically.

It is a safe space to agree and disagree with each other.

So I'm always very curious and open to hear back from you guys,

Your opinions,

No matter if we think differently.

I would say even or especially if we think differently.

Well,

And let's go a bit deeper into our session.

And I would like to ask you guys a general question.

How do you feel when you achieve something?

Please try to describe whatever comes up to you,

Your feelings,

Emotions,

Or some pictures from the past.

It can be something very specific or just general.

Please,

Guys,

Let us know.

How do you feel when you achieve something?

I would say,

Speaking from my experience,

When I achieve something,

Of course,

I feel a lot of energy inside of me,

Inside my body.

And,

Of course,

Sense of even physical sense of happiness in my head.

And I often want to dance when I realize that,

Oh,

My God,

That's something that I really wanted and I have it now or I achieved it.

I did it.

I made it.

Yeah,

I celebrate it with a little dance.

I feel very joyful at the moment.

How about you guys?

Whether you have the same,

Similar,

Or different experience?

Another question before I would like to share something else about the feeling of achievement.

Do you guys celebrate your victories or perhaps not?

And if yes,

In which way?

And if not,

Maybe why not?

You may just recall some of the past victories of yourself and remember how it was,

What you did.

Lisa,

A comment from you.

Not as much as I should.

I'm often too busy moving on the next thing.

Well,

Actually,

That is something that I have written here in the plan of this event.

Exactly,

Rushing to the next one.

And you're saying,

Not as much as I should.

So why do you think you should celebrate more?

Thank you so much for sharing that.

I'm curious whether all of us here today mostly celebrate or do not celebrate our achievements.

We'll be curious to have this sort of statistics by the end of this session.

Lisa,

I would like to acknowledge my efforts.

Yes,

That is really important.

And that's amazing that you are joining our live today.

So that's exactly what we are already doing.

And yes,

What I have written to myself,

Whether we celebrate victories or we rush for the next one.

To me,

It also very often happens that,

All right,

I do my little happy dance when I get something or achieve something.

But I don't actually celebrate it.

I would love to maybe have specific time,

Free time for myself,

Doing something that I really enjoy,

Something special perhaps,

Or just allowing myself to do something new or something that I was longing for.

But I often kind of skip that part,

Yes.

And I am almost immediately,

On the same day,

Even maybe an hour later,

I start thinking about the next big thing that I want to achieve,

That I should work on,

What I should start doing and so on,

Actually without acknowledging and celebrating the previous victory,

Even if it was something big.

And I'm sure that most of us,

As I can feel it,

Are kind of guilty of that.

And of course,

That's completely normal.

That's okay.

We are all humans.

That is how our brains work,

Anticipating something,

Getting something and already starting working on the next important thing.

So that's just the mechanism that is inserted in our brains and our minds.

That's perfectly fine.

But mindfulness,

Including meditation practices,

May bring us back to the present moment and allow ourselves to enjoy this celebration a little bit more.

So here I am a big fan of neuroscience,

And it's a big part of my professional career as a coach and a meditation teacher.

So now I would like to share some of the scientific facts why,

For example,

It happens that we rush for the next thing.

And another moment that most people,

At least from my coaching experience with my clients,

And I have noticed it about myself in the past as well,

That I'm really anticipating something,

And it really makes me happy thinking that,

Oh,

I'm so close to achieving my goal.

And it,

Of course,

Gives me a lot of energy to continue with the efforts until I reach that.

And I imagine,

Oh my God,

It would feel so amazing to have it or to get it.

But when the moment comes and it is here already,

My hands,

Literally,

Physically,

Or metaphorically speaking,

I just don't feel as good,

As joyful,

As happy as I imagined I would.

And for many years I was asking myself,

Why?

What is wrong with me?

But here is the scientific answer.

It's called the dopamine rush.

It is the pursuit of goals,

Which is strongly linked to the release of dopamine.

It's a neurotransmitter in our brain that is associated with pleasure,

With motivation,

And reward.

So as we work towards our goals,

We anticipate,

And this progression triggers dopamine release in our brains.

So it creates a feeling of excitement and drive that,

Of course,

Also helps us to achieve this thing.

But once we achieve this goal,

We have what we wanted,

The initial level of growing dopamine surges,

Subsides,

So it goes down.

That is why we do not feel so happy as we imagined.

It is the phenomenon that has the name of hedonic treadmill.

So it just explains why this euphoria fades away so quickly.

We tend to adapt to positive experiences,

And our brains very quickly,

In a few moments,

Instances,

Returns to a baseline of the level of happiness.

So that is the scientific explanation why probably we do not feel as high,

Joyful,

Or happy when we finally achieve our goal.

But it shouldn't,

Of course,

Discourage us from achieving the next one or shouldn't make us question ourselves.

But also,

I would like to say that is the reason why we are today here,

To give ourselves time and space to celebrate,

To feel that happiness,

That joy that probably we didn't let ourselves experience during the past year.

And I'm curious,

Guys,

If this part was clear,

Whether you resonate with that or not,

Whether you ever experienced that dopamine rush,

Or probably something that is unfamiliar to you.

Judy,

The comment from you,

Let me read it.

I celebrate my success related to my physical therapy wins by doing a happy dance,

Sharing my joy with those that get how wonderful even the smallest changes.

And then I pay attention or stay aware of the event and bask in the transformation for as long as it lasts.

Wow,

That sounds amazing.

That's a great process that you have for yourself.

I'm really happy for you that you are so mindful in allowing yourself to take this time to go through the whole process,

Yes,

The transformation and transition.

And I really loved how you pointed out here that you share this joy with the people who get you,

Right,

Who understand how wonderful it is for you.

Because,

Of course,

We need to be very,

I wouldn't like to say careful,

But intentional what we share with which people so it will contribute to our life,

Right,

It will support us,

But not vice versa.

So I'm really happy that you do that for yourself.

And definitely another moment to stay aware,

To be aware of this transformation for as long as possible,

Right,

To see how beautifully this achievement,

This result unfolds in our life,

Right,

What it brings with it,

And how beautiful life,

Beautiful life continues.

Great,

Judy,

Thank you so much for this comment.

Well,

For now,

Also from the scientific,

Neuroscientific perspective,

I would like to discuss the benefits of reflecting on past achievements.

So I hope that it will also motivate you,

Will give you some inspiration to think probably deeper about it after our session and to implement this practice of acknowledging and reflecting and celebrating in your life in the future.

So,

Of course,

It can boost self-esteem and confidence.

I guess it doesn't need any explanation,

But it can generally reinforce a positive self-image.

And we all know how great it is,

Right,

To have a higher self-esteem and to be confident in yourself.

It will be an immense support in the future,

Right.

Another moment would be increased motivation and drive for the future.

So reflecting on our past success can fuel motivation for us to continue,

To keep pursuing what we want and to inspire new goals as well.

The third moment,

Improved resilience,

Which is crucial when working especially on the long-term goals.

Recognizing our past challenges that we overcame them and overcame successfully,

It builds resilience and ability to navigate future obstacles.

So we draw this positive experience from our past.

We acknowledge that we are capable of doing so.

And it's actually a great coaching practice as well.

We already have this positive experience.

And not only it makes us feel more confident in our steps,

But also in our abilities to overcome whatever it is in the future because future is unpredictable.

But we have to develop ourselves,

We have to keep moving.

And knowing that,

Yeah,

There will be drawbacks,

There will be hard moments,

Probably we will not have enough energy at some point,

But knowing that we overcame everything in the past,

It means that we will do the same in the future.

So please,

Guys,

Remind yourselves that you already did a million beautiful things,

And it means you will do millions more in the future.

Arlene,

Hello to you too.

I hope I pronounced your name correctly.

Thanks for your comment and for joining us.

And among other benefits of celebrating is also enhanced gratitude.

And I'm sure that all of us have heard about the positive effects of gratitude in our life.

And it also creates a sense of support,

Not only for ourselves,

But perhaps for others as well.

And certainly celebrating will reduce our stress and anxiety,

Which is,

Again,

A great benefit for all of us living in the modern world of social media,

Of constant probably comparison or chasing a dream,

Especially a dream that is not truly yours,

But it's another topic.

So celebrating accomplishments can shift focus away from anxieties and promote a sense of accomplishment and peace within ourselves.

So it will shift our perspective,

Which is,

Again,

A really helpful thing to happen,

Right?

Well,

To this list of the benefits that we just talked about,

Whether you guys have something to add or not,

I will be really happy also to hear back from you.

And my traditional reminder to all of you guys to please stay hydrated and drink enough water.

All right.

Well,

I hope that we all agree on these benefits that were mentioned previously.

And let me specifically highlight the neuroscientific benefits.

So celebrating achievements will activate reward centers in our brain.

And it will,

Again,

Release dopamine,

Which will enhance our mood and motivation to pursue the future goals.

It will also strengthen neural pathways.

So these neural pathways are associated with positive emotions,

Positive memories,

And it will make it easier to recall these experiences and these emotions in the future.

Again,

How can it support us?

It will give us more confidence in the,

Let's say,

Dark times,

In the hardships during the periods of uncertainty.

And,

Of course,

Going back to those positive emotions and memories,

We can enhance it and get back to in our meditation process,

Right?

And,

Again,

It will help us to keep moving and probably to do better.

And,

Of course,

Just generally speaking,

Celebrating going back through our memory will improve our cognitive function,

The activity of our brain.

All right.

So that was it for the scientific benefits of celebration,

Of acknowledging the victories,

What we are doing today together.

And let me know,

Guys,

If there are any questions or hesitations,

Something that you would like to discuss now before we are moving to the sort of reflective part or journaling.

Let me also know how this year was for you guys.

You may share your experiences and how you're feeling now at the end of the year.

It is,

Yeah,

We are getting closer to the end of December.

Why didn't I want to say September?

Yeah.

And,

Of course,

To those of you who celebrate Christmas,

I hope you'll enjoy this festive time next week.

And to all of us,

Happy coming new year.

Right.

I'm feeling in December a little bit slower.

I give myself more time to relax,

To enjoy,

I don't know,

A Christmas movie,

A cup of hot chocolate,

More time with friends,

Chatting with family.

I guess it's like a universal spirit of December.

No?

But,

Of course,

On the other hand,

I know there are so many deadlines before the end of the year,

And that's another side of December as well.

Kind of trying to balance these both.

Okay,

Guys,

If there are no comments,

Let's move to our next part.

I imagine it being sort of a journaling prompt.

You may write down in your notes,

Or I always encourage my clients to journal with a hand on a paper,

With a pen.

It helps to strengthen the mind-body connection and to release the emotions and memories much better in a physical way rather than in a digital way.

Or if you are not in the mood or not in the space for journaling,

You can just reflect on the questions that I will be asking all of us.

These questions and reflections will help us to prepare deeper for our guided meditation that will be at the end of this session and to enhance our positive experience.

Okay,

Melanie,

A comment from you.

I'm happy to see you here.

Hi,

I've been quietly listening.

Totally agree with the balance of December.

Yeah,

Right,

I think that's a universal feeling.

I'm glad to see you.

Thanks for the comment.

All right,

Guys,

So however it feels comfortable to you,

You may already close your eyes and take a comfortable pose and take it as a beginning of meditation.

You may journal or just be with us in this space.

And think about one of your biggest accomplishments from this past year.

You may think of one or a few ones.

Try to be specific and remember the details of it.

And,

Of course,

If you feel like it,

You guys can share your thoughts and memories,

Experiences here with us in the comment section.

If it is something private and personal,

It's totally okay to keep it for yourself.

And I'm sure there were challenges and difficulties that you had to overcome to achieve these goals.

So reflect on those.

What did you have to overcome to achieve it?

Again,

Try to be specific.

Think.

Perhaps remembering all the steps you had to take to come to that point.

And acknowledge your resilience and your growth through this whole process.

I'm sure you've learned a lot from your way.

You may think of the qualities that you gained or something that has shifted inside of you as a person.

And remember how did these accomplishments make you feel?

So here now concentrate on the feelings and emotions that you had when you achieved your goal,

When you got something you really wanted,

When something great happened.

And try to describe these emotions for yourself with words or with some pictures and memories in your head,

However it may be.

Just try to tap into the experience of that moment.

Here is a comment from Melanie.

Let me read it also out loud.

I was diagnosed with cancer and I was told by the doctor my right lung needed to be removed.

I knew I needed to wait.

I followed my instincts and they were actually able to remove that tumor without removing my lung.

And for now there isn't any cancer.

My feeling is so much gratitude and also trust.

Tapping into that moment was pure joy.

Wow,

That's so amazing to read that.

And thank you so much for sharing it.

I cannot imagine how the process has been for you.

And I'm so proud of you knowing that not only you overcame that,

But that you decided to just wait and trust yourself.

That is immense.

That is so much wisdom coming from you.

Yeah,

Thank you for the comment.

Right,

So if any of you guys also feel like sharing,

Please do so.

We will celebrate you together.

And another question to reflect on is who supported you along the way?

So here please acknowledge other people who were with you during the whole process of you achieving it or at some point.

And,

Of course,

When remembering those people,

Say thank you in your mind to them and feel how thankful you are.

Melanie,

Okay,

Since I'm sharing,

I must acknowledge my husband who was amazing.

Thank you to him.

Yeah,

Absolutely.

That's great that you had such a big support as well.

And here I would like to add also please acknowledge guys yourselves.

You were with yourself every moment of your journey.

The biggest support perhaps.

So thank you to yourself.

That also means a lot.

And reflect on the lessons that you guys learned from your success and successes and failures.

So I'm sure there was a lot to learn,

A lot to gain,

And try to be again as specific as possible.

Acknowledge your growth.

And when we reflect on our lessons,

Something that we had to learn or that we chose to learn,

It also becomes a great foundation for the future achievements because it means we will never start from scratch or from zero.

We always have our past experiences with us.

And that's how we grow.

So think now,

Guys,

How can you celebrate your accomplishments in a meaningful way?

Perhaps doing something special for yourself,

Organizing,

Some kind of celebration,

Something that would be truly meaningful to you,

Something that you would enjoy fully,

Perhaps something that you were putting off for a long time.

Be creative here and think big and allow yourself to have it,

To celebrate.

It doesn't have to cost any money,

Doesn't have to be expensive or big in that way,

But something that brings you most of positivity and just elevated emotions.

Try to be specific and you may make even a list of things of how you would like to celebrate.

Why not?

You guys can do whatever you want.

You are free to choose for yourself and to create your lives.

And of course,

Try to reflect about your future.

What goals would you like to achieve next year?

What would you like to accomplish?

You may just quickly go through the list of goals that you already may have for yourself or just think of one for the purpose of our practice and our guided meditation that awaits us.

Also,

Think about how you can use your past successes to motivate you in achieving your future goals that you just thought about.

How can it motivate you to continue or to achieve something new and perhaps even bigger?

How can you draw inspiration and motivation from your past,

From yourself,

Within yourself?

That's a powerful,

Again,

Coaching practice that will be always helpful,

Will be always with you.

And I'm pretty sure that these questions were answered and not easy to reflect on,

Especially perhaps some questions.

But let's think of it kind of from a side and I would like you guys to answer for yourselves and perhaps for all of us this last question.

What advice would you give to someone who is struggling to acknowledge their own achievements?

What advice would you give to them?

And please feel free to share this one in the comments because I'm sure it would be extremely helpful for all of us so we can not only use it for our best but also feel the support of this community that we have here on Inside Timer.

Erling,

The question again,

Please.

Okay,

The question.

What advice would you give to someone who is struggling to acknowledge their own achievements?

Maybe it can be the advice to yourself or to somebody else.

Again,

I think it is a perfect moment to arrive fully to our space,

Into the here and now and take a slightly deeper breath,

Allowing ourselves to relax and our hearts and minds to soften.

Well,

My personal advice and what worked well for me is to journal,

To journal about the past experiences and perhaps reading again your journal pages and highlighting the positive moments,

Identifying what actually went well,

Where you actually did something good,

And acknowledging that,

Highlighting with a marker.

Let it be.

Let it be just a kind of technical practice,

But it will help your brain to shift to the positive aspects,

To rewire your brain so in the future it will be easier for you to identify these positive moments,

To reward yourself truly,

To think higher of yourself.

Well,

Guys,

Soon we will be moving to our guided meditation and if there are,

Again,

Any questions or comments,

Please feel free to share.

Once again,

I would like to remind you guys that this is a series of events that I'm hosting at the end of this year dedicated to saying a mindful goodbye to 2024.

All of these events are recorded and they will be uploaded as talks in my profile already in the beginning of the next year.

So if you want to listen to some parts of this talk or the previous events that we already had dedicated to gratitude and letting go and forgiving,

You may always listen to them in my profile.

So please subscribe.

And another announcement is that next Friday,

I believe it will be the 27th of December,

Mindful goodbye to the year course,

A three-day course that will help you to effectively reflect on the passing year and to enter the new year with renewed energy,

With a lot of motivation,

With a clear state.

The course will be released,

So please take part in that.

I'm sure it will be very beneficial.

And always I encourage you guys to let me know your feedback.

I'm always open to hear the positives,

The uncomfortable moments,

The negatives perhaps,

So I can serve you better in the future.

Erlin,

The comment from you.

Wow,

Yes to myself.

Look at all you have done this year.

Bravo,

Keep going.

Good.

So that's like a very positive self-talk.

That is amazing.

That sounds great.

Exactly.

Repeating these kind of words and acknowledgements,

Even better out loud or standing in front of a mirror to yourself will play magic.

So yeah,

Thank you so much,

Erlin,

For reminding us about this way as well to support ourselves.

All right,

Guys.

So I guess it is time to move to our guided meditation.

It will take about 20 minutes,

I suppose.

Find a comfortable seated or lying position.

Make sure you feel at ease,

But your spine and back is straight.

Take a deep breath into your belly,

Chest,

And head,

And release it with a sigh.

Allow yourself to take this time to celebrate you.

All of the duties,

Plans will wait.

And set the intention to celebrate your accomplishments and cultivate a sense of gratitude for your journey.

So let's encourage ourselves to acknowledge the strength,

Embrace our growth,

And feel empowered to achieve our goals.

Achieve the goals in the next year.

Imagine this passing year as a timeline with each month represented by a specific image or memory.

You may envision it as pictures.

Perhaps each month has a smell or sound or voice,

However it is for you.

And imagining this timeline,

Recall one specific moment of triumph.

Maybe a challenging project that you completed,

Some difficult goal that you achieved,

Or an act of kindness that you performed.

And visualize yourself overcoming some fear that you had and stepping outside of your comfort zone.

Remember that moment when you showed resilience and acknowledge every step you took.

As you bring those memories to life,

Feel the positive emotions associated with this accomplishment.

Maybe joy,

Pride,

Satisfaction,

Whatever it is for you.

Notice where you feel it in your body,

The physical sensations.

Perhaps it is a warmth in your chest or some lightness in your feet.

Maybe it's a smile across your face.

And allow yourself to fully embrace those sensations.

And imagine this positive feeling radiating outwards from you.

It is filling your entire being,

Your physical,

Emotional,

And energetic bodies with a sense of light and warmth.

And let this joy expand,

Filling your room and the space where you're in.

Now,

I want you to experience the pride that comes from knowing that you have grown and evolved.

Be proud of yourself.

Allow yourself to experience that.

And feel this sense of strength and resilience that go through your whole body.

Perhaps your shoulders feel lighter,

Your posture improved.

Notice what changes happen in your body with this feeling.

And rest assured that you already have this experience of winning.

Let it inspire you every step of your way,

Motivating you to continue growing and evolving.

Allow yourself now to bask in the afterglow of all of your successes.

And let this feeling nourish and energize you for all of your future goals.

And right now,

I want you to celebrate yourself.

However you can do that right now.

One simple act of self-kindness or self-appreciation to give you some ideas.

It may be a gentle tap on your shoulder or your head.

You may hug yourself or simply smile as widely as you can.

Celebrating not only your victories but yourself as a human being.

Now,

Think of everyone,

Including yourself,

Who supported you on your way.

Your loved ones,

Friends,

Colleagues,

Mentors.

Appreciate their support,

Their encouragement.

And acknowledge that this support is always available to you whenever you need it.

Let this gratitude overflow your being and send this light and energy to those people wishing them well.

And open your heart to the interconnectedness of all beings on Earth and the beauty of the whole world around you.

Keep this energy,

Emotions,

And feelings that you've cultivated during our session today and know that you can always come back to them and let them support you in achieving your future goals.

Let this energy be a strong foundation for a beautiful next year.

You may slowly bring your awareness back to your body,

To your breath,

The sensations,

The sounds around you.

Bring some movement into your body,

Into your limbs.

And if it is right for you,

Open your eyes.

I want you guys to remember that it is your time to celebrate your achievements and feel proud of yourself.

You are,

Each of you,

Are capable of great things.

You are worthy of recognition and appreciation.

This concludes our guided meditation and basically our live event for today.

I would be very thankful to know your experience,

How it was for you guys.

Again,

Any comments,

Please,

You are very welcome to share here.

Thank you so much,

Guys,

For your hearts.

I truly appreciate that.

Even when guiding this meditation,

I was thinking about my past experiences and I could tap into those feelings and sensations as well.

Thank you guys so much for being here together,

For nurturing,

Nourishing our space.

And let me do a quick summary of what we went through today together.

We talked about why achieving something doesn't always feel as good as we imagined that.

The benefits of celebrating the achievements.

We had a reflection or journaling practice on your past year and a guided meditation to embody joy,

Happiness,

And your power.

I wish and I hope that it served you well,

Guys.

Your goals,
