Transcript

You have been through the start of your meditation now several times,

You know exactly what to do when I say break the flow of rumination by engaging fully with the sensory present.

So spend a minute doing that.

Now as you maintain your peripheral awareness narrow the scope of your attention to only the tactile.

Sound remains in peripheral awareness and rather than being an enemy of your meditation it can be an ally by helping you to keep your peripheral awareness expanded.

As you again narrow the scope of your attention now to only the tactile sensations of the breath wherever they occur in the body.

Your peripheral awareness is also the source of your introspective awareness.

It is simply focused on your mind rather than on the senses,

The five physical senses.

Let your introspective awareness give you real-time reports,

Continuous introspective awareness,

Reporting on the stillness of your awareness.

You You are practicing the fusion of stillness and motion as you primarily know the stillness of your awareness.

Also know these tactile sensations of the breath directly by shifting now from the tactile to the mental experience of the breath and simply know the rhythm of the breath directly.

Just as the potter knows the revolution of his wheel is long or short just simply know the rhythm of the breath.

While you continue to get real-time reports from your introspective awareness about the stillness of your awareness this is the fusion of stillness in motion.

You are practicing the fusion of the breath directly by shifting now from will be set in motion.

It will be shanghaied by a fantasy or a memory taking you off,

Default wandering.

When you discover that,

Let your reflex be to release,

Rejoice,

Return to that stillness,

And then remain in that balance of stillness in motion.

Your still awareness illuminates the fluctuations of the breath but is not carried away by them.

And your awareness becomes more and more still,

Like the glassy surface of a vast body of water without the slightest ripple.

Your introspective awareness continuously monitors the stillness of your awareness as it illuminates the continual motion of the breath,

Knowing both simultaneously.

You If your awareness has been set in motion by grasping to an appearance,

Release,

Rejoice,

Return,

And remain in that fusion of stillness and motion.

Responding to another review, I find the guidance concise while encompassing much established learning. This meditation fits well with my current level of practice
