Hello,

My name is Dr.

Brett Wade.

Welcome to this meditation called Jhangama Dayana,

Meditation on the eternal existence.

The sage Patanjali,

Who wrote the Yoga Sutras,

Has described this meditation as an excellent way to focus the mind.

In this meditation you will simply be focusing on the conscious mind and focusing it on the chakra located between your eyebrows the third eye called the Ajana chakra.

The color associated with this chakra is the color indigo.

The Ajana chakra or the third eye is said to be associated with spirit communication and clairvoyance.

If you're ready,

Let's begin.

To begin this meditation,

Begin seated in an upright and dignified posture.

Do not hold yourself rigidly,

But seek to find a balance point with the head floating on the shoulders.

Have your legs in a symmetrical position.

This may be seated on the chair with your feet flat on the floor or seated on the floor in your preferred asana or seated posture.

If you are familiar with the Ajana Mudra,

Adopt that now.

For those unfamiliar,

Curl your fingers so the backs of your fingers contact each other.

Extend your long fingers so they form the peak of a triangle.

The pads of your thumbs are touching each other and pointing straight backwards towards you.

With your long fingers pointing up,

Press your thumbs gently into your breastbone.

If you notice,

It is if the long fingers are pointing straight up towards your forehead,

Towards your Ajana or third eye.

Allow your shoulders to be relaxed and if at any time during this meditation your hands become uncomfortable in this mudra,

Just release them and have them rest comfortably on your lap.

If you're comfortable,

Begin to close your eyes.

If you prefer to keep your eyes open,

Just focus on the tips of your long fingers.

We'll begin with chanting six omes,

Which you can follow,

Listening or repeat out loud if you prefer.

After the sixth om,

We'll move into a silent meditation in which you will focus your Ajana Chakra between your eyebrows and focus on the color indigo.

Don't worry if you can't see the color,

Your intention to that location is all that's important.

When your mind wanders,

Focus on your breathing and with each inhalation,

Imagine this in-breath going straight to the third eye and expanding the color violet.

Let's begin.

Now bring your full awareness back to the Ajana Chakra,

Your third eye.

Visualize the color indigo swirling in this area.

Again,

As your mind wanders,

Gently bring yourself back to noticing your inhalation breath through your nose,

Going straight to the third eye and expanding this color indigo.

Again,

As your mind wanders,

Gently bring yourself back to noticing your inhalation breath through your nose,

Going straight to the third eye and expanding this color indigo.

Visualize the color indigo swirling in this area.

Again,

As your mind wanders,

Gently bring yourself back to noticing your inhalation breath through your nose,

Going straight to the third eye and expanding this color indigo.

Continue to focus on your third eye,

Your Ajana Chakra,

And the color indigo swirling in this area.

Notice if you can start to feel some warm or energy building in the Ajana Chakra.

Music playing Gently bring your awareness back to this time and place.

Begin to release the mudra if you had kept that position in your hands for the entire meditation.

If your eyes are not already open,

Gently allow them fluttering to the open position.

Notice how you feel.

This meditation called Jangama Dayana was a meditation on the eternal existence.

You may notice throughout your day or the evening a heightened sense of connection with spirit,

Or perhaps an increased sense of clairvoyance or clear seeing.

I look forward to meditating with you again soon.

Peacefully,

Brett.

Good meditation and music. But don't stop the music when you are speaking, it cuts the feeling.

Another outstanding exercise from a masterful teacher. Brett’s approach to the chakras is one of the clearest I have come across on IT or anywhere else, and I am eager to hear even more. My only (& very minor) complaint is that if you listen through earphones, the transitions from the pre-recorded instrumental passages back to the speaking voice tend to be a little jarring—which took me out of the meditation for a split second. Just be prepared—and if this sort of audio glitch bothers you, an easy fix would be to listen through speakers instead. (<—note to self) Definitely lends itself to multiple listens. If you are new to meditation or especially chakras, hold off on this till you feel like you at least grasp the concepts.
