Self-Reiki Hand Positions, Pt. 2
This meditation walks you through the lower self-Reiki hand positions. While being Reiki Level 1 attuned is recommended, it is not necessary to just be with your body in this way. This is also a part of a larger meditation series incorporated in a Reiki Level 1 and 2 practice. (25)

Hello,
My name is Eden and I am a therapist,
Reiki teacher,
And meditation guide.
Now whether you've found this meditation through one of my Reiki courses or just through the web of life,
Welcome.
These meditations are intended to deepen your relationship to your intuition and gifts,
And facilitate an understanding of your own internal landscape.
Each meditation is also a tool that can be offered to yourself or a client,
So I invite you to notice what shifts within you before,
During,
After,
Beyond the meditation,
Cataloging the effects with words and feelings and sensations,
Just letting yourself take note.
Allow it to be personal and universal.
Let's begin.
And today we are going to be walking through the self-Reiki lower hand positions.
Again,
This can be used even if you are not Reiki level 1 attuned,
Because there is just benefit in being with yourself in this presence,
Holding yourself with love and care,
Noticing what moves through you,
What's here.
And again,
It is recommended to hold each hand position for about 3-5 minutes,
So you're always welcome to pause this recording if you'd like.
But this meditation is really intended more to just familiarize oneself with this flow,
Knowing that it is always accessible to you,
This practicing of presence with self.
So wherever you are,
Finding comfort in your body,
Relaxing any tense muscles that you're finding in the face,
In the shoulders,
In the belly.
Let the body go.
There is nothing more that needs to be held in this moment.
We release the muscles.
We release the thoughts.
So that you can get just a little closer to your present moment experiencing.
Go ahead and rub the palms together,
Creating a little bit of warmth.
And then gently lay the palms over the rib cage so that the middle fingers are touching and the base of the palms are close to the side body.
Right where the ribs start to open in that solar plexus area.
Breathing here,
Low and slow.
Presencing yourself with your body.
What do you notice?
And what are you calling in here?
This solar plexus is the seat of your personal power.
It's this fire in your belly that drives you.
There's self esteem here,
Self worth,
Power.
So just noticing anything that comes up or moves through you here.
Taking stock.
And then gently letting that go.
Maybe rubbing the palms together again.
To re-center,
To re-ground,
To release anything that moved through you in the solar plexus.
And we move down into the sacral,
So below the belly button or in that womb space.
Middle fingers gently touching,
Palms away from one another towards the side body.
Letting the breath be even lower now,
Moving the hands in and out.
Relaxing any tense muscles in the body that are trying to hold the arms here.
Can you just usher in some relaxation?
Can you notice what's here?
The sacral being that seat of creation,
This creative force within each and every one of us.
Whether that is artistry or even just the simple fact that every day is new.
And every choice is new.
Or maybe that is parenthood.
This could truly be so many different pieces here.
It's the inherent act of creation.
And choice lives here.
Potential lives here.
Feeling something moving through your mind,
Your body,
Your palms,
Your awareness.
Without needing to grasp for a reason.
Experiencing what is.
Deep breath in,
Long breath out.
As we move on now to the next hand position,
Again rubbing the hands together if that feels supportive to you.
And then moving down into that root,
Into the hips,
The pelvis.
Maybe you feel the hip bones under the base of your palms.
And the fingertips can be touching here.
Or they can just be gently pointed down at a 45 degree angle with the palms rooted near those hip bones.
Just finding some hand position here that is comfortable.
That's natural.
That embraces your body as it is and does not try to fit into whatever box I am prescribing.
This root chakra here is our non-negotiables in life.
The things that we need.
Food,
Water,
Shelter,
Work.
And those personal non-negotiables live here too.
Quality of relationship.
Priorities in life.
Noticing what's right here within you.
Relaxing.
Opening.
Noticing.
Can you let something unwind here?
Find space you didn't even know you had access to in the hips,
The pelvis.
And then we gently release this hand position,
Moving on.
Rubbing the hands together again if that's in your practice now.
And we just take a few hand positions on the back of the body.
So this first one being that low back area.
Above the hip bones.
And wherever you can comfortably reach is perfect.
Letting those thumbs tuck alongside the other fingers.
Moving the shoulders away from the ears.
Still opening through the chest.
Letting yourself notice what's here.
And this area is just the back of that solar plexus,
That sacral.
Just depending on where your intention and attention are.
But no need to put attention anywhere in particular.
You can just be with your senses here.
Noticing anything moving through your mind,
Your palms,
Your body.
Deep breath in.
Long breath out.
Taking another moment being right here.
And then letting that hand position go.
Rubbing those palms together again if you'd like.
And we move down.
Taking those hands to the back of the body,
The back of the hips,
The back of the pelvis.
Right at the top of the glutes.
Maybe your fingertips touch.
Maybe the thumb tucks back in with the rest of the fingers.
Just finding some comfort here.
Again,
Opening through the chest.
Focusing on the back body but not neglecting the front.
Continuing to find length in your body.
Noticing,
Noticing,
Noticing what's here.
In and out,
No rush.
And then gently letting that hand position go.
Rubbing the palms together again if you'd like.
And then we move on to the feet.
So bending both knees,
Bringing the feet closer to your body.
And if this is inaccessible to you,
You can just hold the shins or the thighs,
Intending as if they were the feet.
And really you can hold the two feet,
However is comfy for you.
Yet again,
I recommend the left hand to the left foot.
And right hand to right foot.
Maybe resting the palms on top of the arches.
Maybe letting the heels be on top of the palms from underneath.
Just toying with what feels good and then letting yourself rest in that.
Again,
Not neglecting that front body by curling forward.
It's very easy to want to do that as you reach.
But can you maintain a tall spine,
A supportive core,
While still staying as relaxed as possible.
Holding the feet in a way that's good for you.
Noticing what's here.
One more breath right here.
And then we gently release the focus and the feet.
Finding whatever posture in the body feels good.
And just taking a few slow,
Calibrating breaths all the way through your system,
Head to toe,
Front to back,
Left and right.
Allowing yourself to fill up with more prana,
More chi,
More life.
Can you find wholeness in yourself,
In this moment,
Right now.
And then we gently let that go.
And whenever you are ready to return to the day,
You can gently do so.
Welcome back.
