This is a meditation to do at the end of your luteal phase or in the autumn of your menstrual cycle.
You may also like to try it when anything in life is coming to its end,
To its completion,
If you're in a moment of harvest and letting go.
So I suggest lying down for this,
Make yourself really comfortable.
In the autumn of our menstrual cycle we start to really honor our need for rest and for drawing inwards.
So as you land here there's no rush or expectation that all of you is here at once but start to notice how and where you are present,
How and where you're touching this earth landing on the ground beneath you.
Perhaps bringing attention to your bones,
Your shoulders,
Shoulder blades,
Your joints,
Your hip bones and sacrum,
Really spending some time sensing into the back of your body,
Seeing your attention wander where it wants to wander.
Whether it wants to focus for longer on one place,
If there's sense of comfort and grounding there or if it wants to flow,
To explore.
If you find places of tension or pain,
We honor that and also notice areas that feel more pleasurable or quiet.
Notice how your breath is coming,
Perhaps your breath could join your awareness here in the back of your body,
Moving you against the floor,
Spreading you on the ground,
Inviting the heaviness which is not a stagnancy but is a real depth that lets you know yourself here.
Here is your body,
Your material form,
Here you are and gravity is acting on you,
Moving through you,
Inviting you to yield so you can trust,
Can trust that you are here,
You can have this moment of rest,
Coming home.
You might have noticed there's some place in your body in particular that feels like a real resource,
Feels particularly potent or like it's calling you,
You have the freedom to trust,
To follow those callings and everything I'm offering is an invitation.
So in this luteal phase,
Autumn starts to turn towards winter,
We take a pause to give thanks for the last cycle,
Thanks to yourself and this might be an edge for you,
Might not come easily,
Your mind might be windswept suddenly with all the ways you haven't done enough or are critical of yourself,
Okay,
Breathe with it but here you are,
Here you are and somewhere within there's a gratitude for your recent past self,
Yourself,
For all your work,
Your growth of the last cycle of springtime and summertime,
All your living,
All your surviving,
All your loving,
Even if things haven't gone the way you wanted,
Even if things have fallen apart.
So since now I suggest into your right hand,
You might take your arms out to the sides,
Somewhere comfortable if that's comfortable and open your palms with a softness so however the fingers fall and sense into your right palm,
Sensations across your skin,
Her temperature and here in your right palm you might have a sense of gathering,
Of harvesting all the love and labor of these past cycles,
Of this menstrual cycle that is drawing down,
Down to its winter time.
It might be that you recall events and moments of this past cycle,
The last few weeks,
Gathering them in your right hand,
Knowing that whatever has passed has got you here and how might it be to let all that you've gathered pass over to your left hand to be filtered and released if this is,
This suggestion is picked up by your imagination and your body sense,
Follow that how it is for you,
Of filtering through your body,
Through yourself to your left side and out your left hand or maybe you imagine an arc over you,
An arc spanning your right palm to your left with whatever sense of form,
Space or color or light.
This work your body has done bringing you to this place preparing you for your period to bleed,
To all this incredible,
Incredible processes of your body,
Your body that,
That loves you,
That is you living and all the work you've done in the outer world,
Everything you've nurtured or planned for,
The actions you've taken and gathered in your right and past and honored as they pass,
Digested as they filter over to your left,
Maybe energetically moving through your body,
Across your arm span or arcing above you or even underneath you from right to left,
Noticing the sensations in your left palm and offering your left palm up and offering of your cycle,
Of your body in this moment,
Releasing,
Releasing,
Releasing through your left palm,
Preparing yourself,
Validating your cycle where you're at,
That you're now moving into winter and letting yourself move through this cycle of giving yourself an immense sense of permission and approval or borrowing it from me,
From the earth underneath you,
From mother earth,
The compost,
The soil,
The cycles of nature,
All this is natural and native to you,
Softening and relaxing and as you release,
As you filter through your left arm,
So filling yourself up with whatever you're in need of now,
Drawing on the earth below,
Drawing on the light or qualities in the weather or in the room that you're in,
How can you bring a touch more pleasure or relaxation,
And filling yourself up with your earthiness,
With warmth,
With light in your sacred space,
The sacred space of your being,
Your body that extends around you is setting that arch between your palms as a boundary setting a psychological bubble rainbow around your natural and sacred cycles,
This must be protected,
And find a way to um to appreciate your whole self,
Maybe scanning through your body or landing again in the back of your body on the earth or taking some micro movements or a bigger stretch or a yawn,
Honoring yourself,
Marking this sacred space that you've made,
Thanking yourself for all your growth and all your decomposition,
All your work and all your rest,
Okay,
Make it,
Take it easy as you move into wherever you're moving next,
Sealing this practice perhaps with a deeper breath or some sound,
This one to return to every month or wherever your cycle falls,
Every phase of autumn,
Okay,
Much love,
