Welcome to Insight Timers,
The Daily Insight.
I'm Elliot and I'll be your guide for this morning meditation.
Today we'll be focusing on a meditation designed to offer a complete morning energy cleanse.
I've imagined it like a shower in the morning,
Except for your entire energy system.
We'll be using the breath and mantras as tools to cleanse your energies and let go of anything that isn't serving your highest self.
Settle into a cross-legged posture with your hands open facing upward.
Maintain a straight back with its natural curves.
Sit with your face slightly upturned and allow your focus to shift between your eyebrows.
Then gently close the eyes and mouth.
Let's admit,
As humans,
We're sensitive creatures by nature,
All the way down to the way we're designed.
On one side,
We hold this immense potential to create our own reality.
And on the other side,
We are capable of losing it all by our own hands.
We hold this incredible power through our genetic and chemical makeup,
As well as faculties for higher consciousness.
Part of being a responsible human is discerning what to get involved with and what to pass up,
What to keep,
And what to let go.
What serves our desire for growth and what doesn't.
So let's check in with the body and observe our breath.
Gently create some space for the breath to be relaxed and natural.
Just noticing how the body,
Mind,
And emotions are in this present moment.
If at any point during this meditation you become absorbed by thoughts,
Physical sensations,
Or emotions,
It's okay.
All we need to do here is notice and come back to the physical sensation of breathing.
Many enlightened masters have described the breath as our seat in life.
When we are fully in it,
We're in control of our lives.
And when we're not in it,
We lose hold of the mechanics which operate our life and we crash.
The breath is always there,
And when we're conscious of it,
We can access real power to help steer our lives in the direction we want them to go in.
The inhale is welcoming new life.
The exhale is letting go of what we don't need.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Feel the breath's cleansing essence as it brings in energy for you.
Feel the breath's cleansing essence as it leaves and makes space for another inhale.
At the top of the inhale,
Pause for a moment,
Then release.
At the bottom of the exhale,
Pause again,
Then open.
Resting through the breath.
The breath is being moved so very effortlessly.
Just there.
Supporting everything that you're experiencing right now.
Inhale.
Choose what you no longer need.
Exhale,
Releasing it through the breath.
For the next few moments,
Keep your awareness on the breath.
Observing how energy is carried in with the breath and how energy is carried out with the breath.
Feel your breath cleansing your body as you progressively allow the body to be breathed all on its own.
Rhythmically,
Naturally,
At ease.
It's okay if distractions come up or if you're not totally at ease yet.
Just come back to this very moment with your breath moving in and out of you.
Becoming thinner and thinner.
Lighter and lighter.
Taking in the necessary energy that you need to cleanse yourself and letting go of what you no longer need.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Continue at your own natural pace as your energies further sync up with the breath.
Breathing easily and fully is one of the basic pleasures of being alive.
When we get in touch with our cleansing breath,
The experience brings us closer to all life.
And in opening to what no longer serves you on your path towards the light,
You may employ the entire body's intelligence to distinguish what is necessary on your path and what is discardable.
The cleansing breath means discernment and action all at once.
The breath is the vehicle to making all of this happen.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathing in,
Taking the energy you need to cleanse yourself.
Breathing out,
Let go of what you no longer need.
Continue breathing deeply,
Fully,
And rhythmically as your energies sync up with the breath.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Here's a quote by Charlotte Erickson.
And you can make it one more.
You're doing just fine.
This quote reminds me that there are many ways to cleanse our energies,
To come back to the present moment and connect to life in a stable and wonderful way.
Nothing fancy,
Just breathing can make you ecstatic.
It's up to you how you wish to breathe,
Which ultimately puts you in the driver's seat of your life.
The quality of your breath determines the quality of your life.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathing in,
Taking the energy you need to cleanse yourself.
Breathing out,
Let go of what you no longer need.
The following mantra is to bring us closer to our true nature.
Act with care.
Every decision I make has repercussions.
Acquiring things will not lead to happiness.
But letting go will increase my capacity to be fulfilled.
Everything I'm searching for is already inside of me.
I am all I need.
Act with care.
Every decision I make has repercussions.
Acquiring things will not lead to happiness.
But letting go will increase my capacity to be fulfilled.
Everything I'm searching for is already inside me.
I am all I need.
Act with care.
Every decision I make has repercussions.
Acquiring things will not lead to happiness.
But letting go will increase my capacity to be fulfilled.
Everything I'm searching for is already inside of me.
I am all I need.
I am all I need.
I am all I need.
I am all I need.
It's okay if distractions come up or if you're not totally at ease yet.
Just come back to this very moment with your breath moving in and out of you.
Becoming thinner and thinner.
Lighter and lighter.
Taking in the necessary energy that you need to cleanse yourself.
And letting go of what you no longer need.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
In bringing this session to a close,
Come back to a full awareness of the body.
Gently take your own time and when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
See if you can take the breath's ability to cleanse with you into the rest of your day,
Into your life,
As it unfolds moment by moment.
Thank you for sharing your meditation practice with me.
Namaste.
