This is a guided meditation to reflect on the past year and open into the goals we'd like to set for this year.
Instead of making this an intellectual exercise of the mind,
We'll take a few moments to drop into our heart space.
This feeling space.
So we're really making this a heartfelt desire,
Grounded from within,
Not what we think we ought to or should be doing,
But really what we innately desire intuitively from our innermost being.
So everything that's not in line with this can fall away.

Ready for your fresh start?
Grab what you need and let's get started.
Let's take a moment to find a comfortable position.
You may wish to sit on the floor,
On a chair,
Against the wall or even lay down.
And let's take the next few moments to get very comfy.
As you settle into the space around you,
Senses wide open.
Close your eyes.
Relax the body.
Starting to tune into that quiet space inside of you,
Allowing the world around you to slowly fade away.
Deep breath in.
Deep breath out.
Let go of any tension in the breath and body.
You are safe and able to rest completely here.
Now bringing attention to your heart space.
Feeling the ribcage expand on the in-breath.
Release on the out-breath.
Relax deeper with every passing moment.
Imagine relaxation pouring through you from the crown of your head,
And your body.
Let go of any tension in the body.
Let go of any tension in the body.
Let go of any tension in the body.
Let go of any tension in the body.
Let go of any tension in the body.
Rest in the arms.
Exhale the stomach muscles to out your head.
Now control your mouth and eye.
Now think of a space where you feel totally safe,
Comfortable and peaceful.
This could be somewhere you know in real life or in your imagination.
Somewhere in nature or somewhere indoors.
And if it helps nurture these feelings of comfort and peace,
Imagine someone or something you know here with you.
A person,
Animal or plant.
What are the physical sensations of this peace and comfort?
Can you relax just a little bit more and welcome in these physical sensations of peace,
Comfort,
Safety?
As you continue to sense into all of these sensations of safety,
Comfort and peace,
Let go of the images.
This is your inner sanctuary.
At any point you can always bring yourself back to this space of safety,
Peace and comfort.
Now let's take a trip back through the past year.
It's through reflecting on some of the highlights and challenges that we learn about what we can let go of and what else we want to move more towards.
So as you continue to relax into your heart space,
Feel into the highlights from the second half of last year.
Over there people,
Events or commitments you'd made that brought you joy.
Staying with the sensations of joy with an open heart.
Now sensing and feeling into the highlights from the first half of last year and the people,
Events or commitments you'd made that made you smile,
Made you feel alive.
Without going into thinking mode and staying in this feeling mode from last year's highlights,
Are there people,
Events or commitments you made that brought you this immense joy that you'd like to move more towards in this year?
Take a moment to recall and if it's helpful,
Inquiring with the question,
Will this person,
Event or commitment bring me most joy and fulfillment this year?
Relax,
Let go of the thinking mind.
Relax and feel with an open heart.
If it's helpful,
Recall your inner sanctuary,
This space of safety,
Comfort and peace.
Knowing what are some of the people,
Events or commitments we want to move more towards.
Now let's take a moment to inquire into what we can let go of and remember at any point you feel uncomfortable,
You are very welcome to bring yourself back to your inner sanctuary.
Now relax into your heart space,
Staying open with curiosity.
Let's take a trip back through the second half of last year,
Recalling any challenging moments you faced.
It could be with a particular person,
Event or commitment you'd made that you found challenging.
What were the emotions present?
Perhaps some frustration,
Anger.
And if at any point recalling these becomes too challenging,
You can bring yourself back to your inner sanctuary of peace and calm.
Now moving into the first half of last year,
Recalling any challenging people,
Events or commitments you'd made.
Let go of the thinking mind.
Let go of any stories,
Staying with the challenging emotions that may be present.
And how does this feel in the physical body?
Was there anything you might have learned from any of these challenges?
Or perhaps the lesson may simply be that it's time to walk away from these people,
Events or commitments that didn't add to your life.
Taking note of what to let go of is equally important.
Once again,
Coming back to your inner sanctuary of safety,
Comfort and peace.
Opening into your heart space.
Let's ask the question of what would bring me the most joy and fulfillment this year?
Repeat the question and remain open to any and all answers.
Relax.
Listen to your heartfelt desire.
What would bring me the most joy and fulfillment this year?
If any insight comes to you,
You're welcome to take a moment and journal it down.
Use bullet points or a single word if it helps you stay out of the thinking mind and remain in this heart-feeling space.
You're welcome to press pause on this recording if you need a little more time.
In your own time,
Whenever you're ready,
A moment of gratitude for the time you've taken for yourself.
This is just the start to your intentional new year.
I hope you continue to reflect on some of these insights and take those first steps to nurture these intentions.
Wishing you the very best year.
