Welcome to this guided meditation for putting your child to sleep.
Now is the time just to drop into the environment,
Scanning the space as you take fuller breaths to see if anything needs to be arranged better to make you both feel more comfortable.
Checking the light,
Temperature,
The sounds to make sure that you can feel relaxed and undisturbed.
Even if you need to adapt to a new environment,
Just check that you can feel relaxed here.
Check into your own posture,
Your shoulders,
Your spine.
If you're standing and rocking,
Make sure that your spine feels straight and your core is engaged and your feet feel strong and firm against the floor.
If you're in a relaxed position,
Take some fuller breaths and allow your body to sink.
You might just take a few breaths here to the count of four.
So slowly breathing to the count of four in,
Feeling right up to the top.
And an exhale,
Sigh,
Letting that out.
Into four and out for four.
If that feels good for you right now,
Regardless of what the child is doing,
You start to ground yourself into your calm and peaceful center.
You might bring a little bit of movement into the body,
Even if it's just the movement of your breath,
Making small adjustments against the ribs,
Spine,
Back of the neck.
You might breathe into the back of the hips,
Creating a little bit more space.
Or if you're standing,
More structure,
Stability.
Feel your awareness engage down into the body,
Creating your own peaceful energy before we transfer that into the child.
The breath's moving in and out of your heart space.
You might already be able to connect to the love that's there,
Especially in the background of whatever context is here right now.
There's a deep,
Heartful,
Tender love living at the core of your being,
The exact same love that flows between you two.
Full breaths in and out of the heart,
Sensing the love that's here.
You might feel a contact with the heart.
Maybe a body part is touching the heart,
Or you might place your own palm there.
You might feel the vibrations between you two,
Stimulating the center of your chest.
It might just be the vibrations of your breath stimulating you in the middle of the chest.
Another relaxation of everything that's above the shoulders,
Allowing the tension from the forehead,
Eyes,
And brain to start to melt down.
Below the shoulders and breathing it into your middle.
Trying to stay connected to your body,
Your posture,
And a sense of alignment inside.
Even if you need to adjust,
Not worrying that you're going to disturb the environment.
Trusting that you can resettle from this heartful place any disturbances that arise.
Feeling the vibration of love from your heart space,
Filling the space between you and filling the bodies.
Your eyes might close if that feels good.
As you enter into the heart space,
Love the longing in your heart to be connected to your child or your baby.
And smiling with the recognition that the connection is here.
The yearning your heart has to be together,
To spend time together,
To fill up your heart and their heart with connection.
It's here.
Smile with this gratitude.
As you breathe,
You might synchronize with their heart,
Their vibration,
Their breath,
And listen to any message from their system,
Attuning yourself deeper together.
A smile softens across your face.
Feeling smiling energy like the bliss of the universe pouring into your body,
Expanding inside your system.
And then with your breath,
Pouring it into your child's body,
Expanding in their system,
Blessing them with healing,
With light,
And with that which they desire the most,
Your loving presence.
Checking that your breath is still full.
Scanning for any discomfort in the environment between you.
Might be in their body or might be in your body.
And offering it love and the sense of allowing it to be here.
Relaxing around anything that feels tight.
Your shoulders,
Throat,
And neck soften.
And all the tension from your scalp and brain are melting down.
Breathing into the heart.
Breathe down the legs.
Circulating your breath through the tissues.
As you connect to your heart space,
One last time you might offer a blessing.
Offer some words or listen to a message and respond with the heart space before you close off your sleeping practice.
