If you've been feeling overwhelmed,

Restless,

Or burdened by the weight of the day,

This practice will help you let go of tension,

Calm your nervous system,

And drift into deep relaxation that you deserve.

Inspired by the full moon,

A time of stillness,

Reflection,

And renewal,

This session invites you to embrace the quiet power of rest.

Just as nature slows down in winter,

You too can surrender to peace.

Welcome to this yoga nidra for stress relief and better sleep.

My name is Danielle,

And I am honored to guide you through this practice.

Yoga nidra is a powerful sleep meditation that helps activate your body's natural relaxation response.

Through this guided journey,

We'll move through different layers of awareness,

Allowing your mind to slow down and your body to deeply rest.

Now,

Find a comfortable lying down position.

You may choose to place a pillow under your knees or use a blanket to stay warm.

Let your arms rest gently by your sides,

Palms facing upward to open across the chest.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in.

Exhale fully.

Give yourself permission here to let go of the day,

Knowing that you are safe,

Supported,

And free to simply be.

Begin by bringing awareness to your breath,

Allowing it to flow naturally.

Feel the rise and fall of your abdomen,

The soothing rhythm of your inhale and your exhale.

Just notice with each breath you take,

Feel yourself becoming lighter,

More at ease,

And more open to deep relaxation.

Now,

We'll start the practice with a psychological sigh.

Start with two short breaths in through your nose and one breath out through your mouth,

Like this.

We will begin together.

Ready?

Inhale,

Inhale,

Exhale.

Again,

Inhale,

Inhale,

Exhale.

Now,

Listen to your natural breath without control.

Just listen and feel.

Where is the breath going?

Is it shallow or deep?

Does it go into your belly or your chest?

Just observe and feel your breath.

Visualize the silvery glow of the full moon cascading over you,

Moonlight shimmering on freshly fallen snow,

This soft,

Luminous energy melting away tightness,

Stress,

Or heaviness,

Leaving you with a sense of ease.

Scan your body now from head to toe,

Consciously relaxing each area,

Sensing where you might be holding tension.

Again,

Soften your forehead and release any tension in your jaw.

Allow your shoulders to drop away from your ears,

Melting into the ground.

Feel your arms resting heavily,

Palms open in complete surrender.

Let go of any tightness in your abdomen,

Hips,

Legs,

As if you are sinking into a soft,

Soft bed of snow.

Feel a wave of softness and stillness moving through your body with each breath that you notice.

Start to feel now the support beneath your heels,

Calves,

Your hips,

And your spine.

Feel the weight of your body sinking into the earth as if it is being held in a nurturing embrace.

With each inhale,

Imagine drawing in fresh,

Cool air,

Filling you with serenity.

With each exhale,

Visualize a gentle snowfall carrying away any residual stress or tension.

Feel yourself surrendering to the stillness,

Just as nature slows down under the weight of a quiet hush of winter.

Your breath is steady,

Your body soft,

Your mind is at ease.

Now that your body is deeply relaxed,

Your mind is quiet,

Might you connect to your entire attention that's deep in your heart,

Your Sankalpa,

A positive affirmation that aligns with your highest well-being.

Let it emerge from within.

Give yourself a few moments to listen.

Listen to the stillness.

Listen to the space within the stillness.

If nothing arises,

You might try this phrase,

I am calm and at peace,

Or I release stress and welcome deep rest.

Visualize your intention appearing before you in words,

Perhaps written across the night sky,

Illuminated by the full moon.

I am calm and at peace.

Silently repeat your intention three times,

Planting the seed of transformation within you.

Now we'll move through the rotation of consciousness as you hear my voice.

Move to the part of the body that I mentioned and repeat it to yourself silently.

Bring your awareness to your forehead where a single snowflake lands,

Cool and light.

Feel it melt into your skin,

Washing away tension at your forehead.

Awareness drifts to the space between your eyebrows where a delicate frost settles,

Quieting your thoughts.

Move to your right temple,

Left temple,

Right eyelid,

Left eyelid,

Corner of the right eye,

Corner of the left eye,

Both eyes together,

Each soft and still,

Like frozen lakes reflecting the moonlight.

Feel the tip of your nose,

Cool and refreshed by the winter air,

Right cheek,

Left cheek,

Neck,

Lips,

Throat,

Where the crisp night air soothes and calms.

Awareness glides to your right collarbone,

Right shoulder,

Upper arm,

Right elbow,

Forearm,

Forearm,

Right wrist,

Palm of your right hand,

Each fingertip as if dusted with the finest glistening snow,

Thumb,

Index,

Middle,

Ring,

Pinky,

All five fingers,

Your whole right arm.

Shifting now to your left collarbone.

Left shoulder,

Upper arm,

Left elbow,

Forearm,

Wrist,

Left palm of your hand,

Each fingertip melting into deep relaxation,

Thumb,

Index,

Middle,

Ring,

Pinky,

The whole left arm,

Both arms together.

Bring your attention to the center of your chest,

Your heart center,

Warm and steady beneath the hush of winter's stillness.

The soft glow of the full moon radiating calm.

Feel the calm within at your heart center.

Now shift to your abdomen,

Hips,

Both hips,

Thighs,

Both thighs together,

Knees,

Both knees,

Right and left,

Calves together,

Right calf and left calf,

Both ankles,

Sole of each foot.

Feel both feet and all 10 toes,

Each resting under a soft,

Pristine snowfall,

All 10 toes.

Feel both legs,

Right and left leg together,

Weightless,

Peaceful,

Embraced by the quiet of the night,

Both legs.

Now your whole body is now still,

As if lying beneath the full moon,

The luminous glow of the full moon,

Completely at ease,

Resting in serenity of the winter's night.

Now shift your awareness to your breath.

Visualize your inhale beginning at the soles of your feet,

Feeling your breath like a wave of fresh,

Cool air rising up through your legs,

Filling into your belly,

Your chest,

And all the way up to the crown of your head.

Inhaling cool air to the crown of your head.

As you breathe out,

Exhale,

Imagine the breath slowly cascading down from the top of your head,

Washing down through the chest,

Belly,

Legs,

And finally out through the soles of your feet like melting snow returning to the earth.

The exhalation slowly releasing down from the top of the head to the soles of the feet.

Inhaling with each breath,

Feel this cycle of renewal.

Breathing in and out,

Releasing old energy to make space for new beginnings.

Watching the breath,

Watching the wave.

Breathing cool,

Crisp moonlight rising from the earth to the sky.

Breathe out soft snow melting,

Releasing all tension back into the ground.

Continue this flowing wave-like breath.

Take a few more cycles and feel the harmony between the breath,

The body,

And the stillness of the winter night.

As you start hearing my voice again,

Return to your sankalpa,

Your personal intention.

As you breathe in,

See it written in the sky,

Illuminated by the soft glow of the full moon.

Trust now that this affirmation is already coming to life within you.

Repeat it to yourself silently three times with full conviction.

Now,

As you start hearing my voice once again,

Bring awareness back into your body.

Feeling the support of the ground beneath you.

Feel your body being cradled.

And notice all of the points,

The hands,

The feet,

Or the heels,

The spine and the back of the head.

And become aware now of the space around you,

The temperature of the air,

The sounds in the distance,

The sounds that are a little closer to you.

And if your breath drifted away,

Just start to notice your breath once again without any control,

Just watching and feeling the breath come and go again,

Just as we did at the beginning of the practice.

Again,

Noticing if it's shallow or deep in your belly or your chest.

And start to awaken your fingers,

Wiggle your toes,

Move your hands and your feet.

Just starting to feel some energy return to your body.

Can take a deep breath in now,

A nice,

Nervous breath.

And naturally sigh out.

You might stretch your arms over your head.

Just give yourself a moment to awaken with ease and so much gratitude.

You can push yourself to the side.

Pause for a moment.

Notice how you feel.

Do you feel calm,

Rested?

Are you ready for a peaceful night's sleep?

As you transition into sleep,

Or back into your day,

Please carry this sense of stillness and renewal with you.

Thank you for joining me in this Yoga Nidra meditation for stress relief and deep sleep.

Wishing you serenity,

Deep rest,

And renewal under the full moon.

Peace,

Peace,

Peace.

Until next time,

Namaste.
