To begin,
May you find a position that makes you feel both relaxed and attentive.
It could be on a chair with your feet flat on the ground,
Lying down on a soft surface,
Or any other posture that feels good to you.
The important thing is to ensure your back is straight and you feel comfortable.
Now gently close your eyes.
Take a moment to become aware of the space around you.
Notice the temperature of the room,
Any sounds in the distance,
Or even the sensation of clothing against your skin,
These are all neutral sensations,
Just pieces of information that bring you into the present moment.
Now focus inwardly on your breathing.
Without trying to change it,
Simply observe it.
Notice how the air feels cooler as you breathe in,
And slightly warmer as you breathe out.
As you continue to breathe,
Mentally scan your body,
From your toes to the crown of your head.
Notice if there is any part of your body holding on to tension.
Often,
We carry tightness in our shoulders,
Our jaw,
Or even our hands without realizing it.
As you breathe out,
Imagine releasing that tension,
Allowing it to flow out of you and dissipate into the air.
Let's do this for a few more breaths.
Inhale deeply,
Feeling the air fill your lungs.
Exhale slowly,
Letting go of any tension or tightness.
With each breath,
Feel your body becoming more relaxed and grounded.
Remember,
This meditation is a safe space,
A time for you.
There's no right or wrong way to feel,
And any thoughts or emotions that arise are ok.
Allow them to come and go,
Like clouds in the sky,
Always bringing your focus back to your breath.
Take one more deep breath,
Filling your lungs completely,
And then releasing them fully.
Now,
Gently rest your attention on the space of your mind.
Think of it as a wide open space,
Like a beautiful field.
This field is ready and waiting,
Receptive to new seeds of experiences and challenges.
When given attention and care,
These seeds can grow into strong,
Resilient trees,
Each representing a new skill,
Understanding,
Or facet of our personal growth.
Consider a recent challenge you've faced.
It may have been something at work,
A personal project,
Or even a conversation.
Now,
Instead of viewing this challenge as a setback or something negative,
See it as a seed.
This seed holds within it a lesson or a strength yet to be realized.
Gently plant this seed in your vast field.
Feel the potential it holds.
Just like any seed,
It needs care.
Water it with patience.
Patience to understand that growth takes time.
It's not about immediate results,
But about the journey and what you learn along the way.
Now,
Imagine the sun shining down on your field,
Representing the positivity and openness of the growth mindset.
Every beam of sunlight encourages the seed to grow,
To push through the soil and reach upwards.
