Welcome,
Take this time for yourself,
A moment to strengthen your inner resolve and deepen your openness to meaningful connection.
Boundaries are not walls,
But gentle guidelines that protect what matters most to us.
They allow us to honor our values while staying open to healthy discussions and relationships.
Let's begin this journey towards balance.
Strengthen your boundaries and curiosity in your connections.
Find a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
Let your body settle into this moment.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Hold it for a moment,
And exhale through your mouth.
Do this three more times,
Allowing your breath to deepen and soften with each cycle.
With each exhale,
Release tension from your body,
Let your shoulders drop,
Your jaw unclench,
And your hands rest gently in your lap or at your sides.
As your body relaxes,
Bring your awareness inward.
Imagine a soft light glowing in the center of your chest,
The home of your values and inner truth.
Now picture yourself standing in a serene,
Open space.
This could be a forest clearing,
A sunlit meadow,
Or a quiet room that feels safe and inviting.
In this space,
You are surrounded by a gentle boundary,
A circle of light.
This light is warm and flexible,
Yet strong.
It represents values,
Your sense of self,
And your boundaries.
Take a moment to visualize this light clearly.
Notice how it feels protective,
But not restrictive.
It allows you to breathe,
To move freely,
And to feel safe.
As you stand within this circle of light,
Reflect on the values that are most important to you.
What do you stand for?
What do you need to feel respected,
Whole,
And supported?
Silently or aloud,
Name one or two of these values.
Feel them anchoring you and strengthening the circle of light that surrounds you.
Now imagine someone approaching the edge of your circle.
This could be a family member,
A friend,
Or a person whom you need to discuss your boundary.
Notice how your circle of light remains intact,
Strong,
And steady.
As they stand outside your circle,
Take a deep breath.
Feel your heart soften and expand with curiosity and compassion.
Ask yourself,
What do I want to understand about their perspective?
What can I share with them that honours my values while remaining open to connection?
Imagine the light of your circle extending gently toward them like a soft glow.
This light doesn't break or shrink.
It grows to include an energy of openness and willingness to listen.
Now visualize yourself speaking to this person.
Your voice is calm,
Steady,
And kind.
With a gentleness to your tone,
Express why your boundary is important to you.
You pause and welcome the thoughts with an open mind,
So you can understand how to create this boundary together.
Notice how they respond.
Even if they seem resistant at first,
Your light remains strong.
You feel anchored,
Not swayed by their reaction.
With each breath,
You reaffirm your strength and openness.
Silently say to yourself,
My boundaries protect my values.
I can hold space for understanding and connection.
I have the strength to honour myself and the openness to hear others.
Notice how your circle of light feels stronger and brighter.
You've stayed true to your values while inviting meaningful connection.
The person outside your circle may remain there,
Or they may step closer to understanding.
Either way,
You feel at peace,
Knowing that you've honoured yourself and approached the situation with grace.
Take a deep breath in,
Feeling the light within you grow even stronger.
Exhale,
Letting go of any lingering doubt or tension.
Slowly bring your awareness back to your body.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Roll your shoulders and take a gentle stretch if it feels good.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Carry the strength of your boundaries and openness of your heart with you into the rest of your day.
You are both grounded and expansive,
Strong and compassionate.
Trust in your ability to navigate boundaries with grace.
