Welcome,

Welcome to this I Ching reading for hexagram number 18,

Known as disruption,

Sometimes corruption.

Let's take a few moments to tune ourselves into the here and now,

Which provides the platform for one to receive more easily and readily information in a way that is in alignment with your whole self right now.

Facing your attention on your feet,

Notice for a few moments the tops of your feet and then the soles of your feet.

Feel into each toe,

The big toes,

The second toes,

The middle toes,

Your fourth toes and baby toes.

Can you sense now into the center of both feet?

You might like to do this exercise individually or with both feet at the same time.

And as you take your awareness deeper into the flesh of the one foot and the other foot,

Relax into all the tendons,

The joints,

The skin,

Every part,

Every vein,

Every meridian current.

Taking a slow breath into both feet.

Then as you gently exhale,

Slowly move your awareness up your body,

All the way up,

Right into the crown and feel the center of your crown just as it is without trying to change it.

Notice the space just above the crown,

And then drop your awareness and sense into the area just below the crown,

In the skull,

In the brain.

Slowly breathe into the space and release.

And once more,

Breathing slowly and gently into your crown,

Relaxing the crown,

Relaxing the facial muscles,

The whole body,

And trusting that the information you're going to receive,

Your interpretation of it,

Is for your highest good.

Breathing that intention in,

As you exhale,

Let it go,

Allowing it now to unfold in the way that is aligned with you.

Keep your heart open and your mind open,

Your heart softened and your mind softened.

As we move through the symbology,

The Tao teachings,

As well as the participatory experience that the I Ching provides for us.

We are looking now at a hexagram comprised of the mountain above wind.

So in the lower trigram,

We have the lines of yin yang yang,

And above that,

Yin yin yang.

So while it may appear that there is a balance of yin and yang,

Three of each,

It is the positioning that provides for us the awareness and the guidance.

And the two inner trigrams are also important to be aware of.

Yang yang yin,

Symbolizing the marsh or the lake,

And above that,

Yang yin yin,

Symbolizing thunder.

So we've got wind and we've also got thunder,

A lot of movement that is happening below and within the stillness of the mountain.

And this continuous movement which grows and builds from a gentle breeze into something much bigger can result in disorder,

It can create illness,

But it can also evoke memories of past errors.

And so there is the opportunity represented by the joyous lake of reconciliation for an opportunity to work through something.

It could be something that is new,

But most often when this hexagram shows up,

It is in relation to the past.

And this can have a connection to one's belief patterns,

And these are often learned,

They are passed down.

And so we see ties in this message here to ancestral patterns.

It might be beneficial for you to consider what has been passed down through your mom or your father's side,

It could be from them directly,

It could be through them,

It could be something,

A habit that you have acquired,

Something one or both of your parents used to do and without thinking you now find yourself doing it as well.

Or it could be a reaction that you've had to one or both of your parents.

But it could also be to those in life that have an authoritarian position,

Which could be parent-like.

And perhaps it is in that relationship,

Something is calling for attention,

Indicating that the time is right,

Look at this now.

And the presence and the strength of the mountain is part of the indication that you are supported through your awareness and through your uniqueness,

Through your own inner strength.

Now a further possibility is that this message is referring to your own inner parent.

And our inner parent can be super loving,

However it can also be super critical.

Where do you find yourself judging yourself?

Judging yourself repeatedly,

Judging yourself unnecessarily,

Being hard on yourself.

Where has this happened for a long period of time?

And you know that it's time for this to transform,

It's not necessary anymore.

Maybe it never was,

But perhaps there was a time that it was important and valuable for you to have awareness of yourself in a certain perspective.

But since then things have changed or shifted and yet this pattern is still there.

Or perhaps you've been judging yourself about something that really never needed judging at all.

Just feel into all these different suggestions.

And maybe there is just one word even that sparks the connection for you.

Allow yourself to journey from there and let it unfold in a natural and free-spirited manner.

Just really trusting the process.

Sometimes that's all we need is just one word,

One perfectly positioned instigator that propels us in a direction.

And it might have been a direction that you've been moving in or being called to move in.

And this is simply a reminder.

Allow your relaxation to remain with you as you flow through some memories and bringing into your mind's eye now,

Right now,

That which is needing to move.

Or if it doesn't,

It can fester and perhaps sink deeper if it is not attended to.

Just like if we don't attend to a physical wound,

It may become infected,

Inflamed,

And now we have something even bigger to deal with.

It's feeling rather uncomfortable what you are looking at,

What you are experiencing,

What is inside of yourself,

About yourself,

Or perhaps remembering experiences.

Please place one hand on your forehead,

The other hand over your heart center.

Creating a supportive link between your shin,

Your mind,

Spirit,

And your heart.

Continue to breathe in a way that is most comfortable.

As you ask yourself now,

Show me all-knowing self,

Higher-wise self,

Intuitive self.

Show me and guide me to transform this old state into one that is aligned with me and my uniqueness.

Breathe in and trust you are being guided from this moment from your position of request.

Sometimes we receive responses in a conscious way that is quite literal,

But most often not.

Most often it comes through and we're not even aware of it.

And then we look back weeks,

Months,

Even years later and we realize hmm I used to have a certain mindset or a certain perception and interesting how they change.

And this is how we can guide our transformation in a gentle and aligned manner.

It takes courage to acknowledge our responsibility in relation to difficult situations,

Challenging beliefs,

Stuck patterns,

Symbols and language and this hexagram 18 is a reminder and an encouragement that we do have the strength to stop blaming,

Shaming,

Ignoring,

Looking for excuses,

Putting things off.

And it all starts with acknowledgement,

Which is done in the quiet of your heart.

In closing a few words from the I Ching.

There is possibility of restoring a situation to one of health and harmony.

It will require much of you in terms of strength of mind and character,

Your sincerity and good faith and prolonged effort.

You will have to discover the root causes of the problem and remedy them accordingly.

When things are restored to wholeness,

You will receive great benefits.

Let's close with a few slow breaths in and out,

In and out,

In and out and simply let this information and your awareness slowly start to fade now.

There has been much rising to the surface through the stimulation of this wisdom.

And equally important is the space that we offer this following the receiving of it.

So as you let this completely go now,

Know that it will continue to work and process in your psyche and with the intentions that you have set,

You will be guided accordingly.

And so please do offer yourself some grounding after receiving this information.

Grounding in the forms of sleep or having some water or tea,

Looking out into the distance,

Connecting with an animal or plants allows for further integration.

And then as you move forward into your next activity,

Completely let this awareness go and move forward in complete trust and peace.
