A reminder that whilst you are thinking and caught in emotion,
You are dreaming.
It's like,
Psst,
Wake up,
You're dreaming.
And it's in this practice that you're learning how to awaken from the dream of thinking and unconscious feeling,
Being caught in the loops,
The programs of the mind.
And it's here in this meditation,
I'm going to share with you some practical tools to help you relate to the mind,
To see the mind and experience the mind without being caught in it.
As I feel your heart,
I feel the expression,
The kindness,
The joy that wants to overflow into the world.
And so we want to allow that to come through,
To really connect to that and allow that.
And that beautiful,
Divine expression of who you are is your reason for being here.
The reality is there's the mind,
And so the thing that stops us from being that expression in every moment of every day is the mind.
And so what is the mind?
The mind is the internal dialogue,
Our identification with thinking and the emotions that are happening,
That are running us.
And so here we break free from that.
And so each day when you sit and you use this practice,
The reminder is that you're not the mind.
And so we practice observing the mind,
Moving beyond the mind.
So that beautiful expression of who you really are may flower into this reality.
The reality is the mind doesn't want to give up control.
It's trying to keep you safe.
It's trying to fix.
It's trying to solve.
It's trying to understand,
But the mind is the problem.
So let's begin our journey here in understanding the mind,
Moving beyond the mind.
And so if you haven't already,
I invite you to find a comfortable position and close your eyes.
And we want to bring our attention inwards to the emotion that's most alive in this moment.
We want to acknowledge it and it helps to label it.
What is the emotion that's most alive in this moment?
And then without going into a story or giving it meaning,
Trying to make it right or wrong,
Just allow it,
Feel it,
Whatever it is,
It's emotion,
Energy in motion.
And then this moment,
Tuning in again,
What are you feeling now?
Once again,
Labeling it and allowing it.
Here we're learning to feel again.
We're learning to consciously bring our attention to the energy that's arising and without going into a story or making it right or wrong,
We just feel it.
The reality is our resistance to feeling,
Not wanting to feel certain emotions,
Making them right or wrong,
Creates resistance and that makes us feel disconnected.
And so learning how to feel all of that means that the energy,
All of the energy,
The great spirit,
The energy that flows through all things can then move through us and we are then connected once again.
And when we feel without going into a story,
It collapses the mental programs,
The mental loops,
Thought that triggers an emotion that drives behavior and round and round and round.
And so learning to feel here.
And so in this moment,
What are you feeling now?
And so acknowledging it and allowing it,
Just feeling it.
And one last time in this moment,
What are you feeling now?
And once again,
Without going into a story,
Just feeling,
Allowing.
And so we're learning to feel it all and in that we learn to be it all.
We rise above the stories.
And so into the next phase,
Which we call releasing tension,
I want to invite you just to bring subtle activation into the body.
So it can feel like a gentle pulling on of the skin,
Pulling on your pelvic floor muscle,
Meditating that,
Gentle curling of the toes and the hands,
It's like a gentle pulling on of the skin on the body.
Can we just hold that for a few moments?
We shouldn't feel like we're uncomfortable,
It's just like a subtle activation.
So we're bringing our awareness to the body and we're just holding it for a moment.
And then we're slowly now,
Over the course of about 10 seconds,
We're just going to release that activation slowly.
And so here we're learning to consciously let go,
Surrender.
And we hold our attention on this once again,
Resisting going into a story,
We're just allowing.
So slowly,
Little bit by little bit,
Just releasing,
Surrendering,
Letting go.
I like to imagine it like a butterfly opening its wings for the first time.
And so now,
We bring our attention to the muscles around our eyes,
We just want to move through the body,
Just scanning and releasing as we go.
Starting at the muscles around the eyes,
Moving down through into the jaw,
Up through the face,
Down through the back of the neck.
I like to imagine it like a wave of relaxation,
Wave of letting go,
Moving down through the body,
Down through the back of the neck,
Into the shoulders and down through the arms.
And then through the upper chest,
Back to the shoulders,
Down through the solar plexus and stomach,
Down through the mid back and back,
Lower back,
Down through the glutes,
Quadriceps and hamstrings,
Shins and calves,
Just like a surrendering,
Letting go even more deeply now,
Down through the feet,
Really letting go.
And you might experience some agitation in the mind,
The mind wanting to be active,
To think.
So we can just observe that,
Do your best to hold your attention on this practice.
All is well,
All is okay.
In this moment,
There's nothing to fix,
There's nothing to solve,
There's nothing to understand.
Safe to surrender,
Safe to let go.
So now imagining yourself as if like a piece of chocolate in the sun,
Melting,
Letting go,
Spilling out across the surface that you're on.
If you're seated,
Keeping a subtle activation in the spine,
But allowing everything else to let go even more completely now.
As if like a piece of chocolate in the sun,
Slowly melting,
Letting go even more completely,
Almost as if we become like goop,
Without form,
Unable to hold form,
Unable to hold thoughts,
So surrendered,
Letting go so completely.
And in this,
We connect to and allow the great spirit,
The supreme intelligence that is us,
That's part of every part of you,
To emerge through us,
Through you.
We trust that you are here for a divine reason,
And you feel that inside,
It's the thing that pulls you forward,
That aches to express itself,
To flower,
To become,
That's already inside you,
There's nothing to understand or fix or solve,
What we do when we meditate is we let go and surrender into that,
Trusting that as we move beyond the thinking mind,
This divine part of ourself unfolds in the way that it needs to unfold.
I want to invite you now just to connect to your breath,
Take a moment just to feel the air flowing in and out of the body,
Ideally through the nose,
But if that's not possible,
The mouth is fine,
Take a moment to just regulate or catch the rhythm of the air flowing in and out,
And ideally breathing down deep into your diaphragm,
So your tummy will expand as you breathe in and contract as you breathe out,
And then as you breathe in again,
Feel nice to envision golden light,
The great spirit flowing into you,
Nourishing every cell of your body,
Renewing,
Healing,
And then as you breathe out,
Breathing out anything that is not that,
So breathing in aliveness,
Knowing,
Certainty,
Love,
Joy,
Bliss,
And as you breathe out,
Breathing out any sense of darkness,
Fear,
Anxiety,
Doubt,
Worry,
And breathing in a sense of knowing you are this energy,
This great spirit,
It is inside you,
It is you,
Here to flower and become,
And then breathing out anything that doesn't align with that,
Feeling the love,
The fullness,
The wholeness,
As you breathe in all the way in,
Deep down into your tummy,
Really feeling on the inhalation and letting go on the exhalation,
Allowing every cell in the body to be nourished by the golden light of being,
That which you already are,
Deepening into it,
Allowing yourself just to surrender and be it,
And we recognize if at any point you feel that you are not that,
And you've contracted into the mind,
A story,
The mind and the stories create a sense of separation,
Disconnect,
It is not who you are,
You are this wholeness,
This love,
This beautiful expression of being,
This beautiful expression of being,
Here to flower and become,
And so we observe that story,
That contraction,
And we recognize it as the mind,
And at the same time feel that connection to wholeness,
Feel the love inside,
And allow that to ooze out of you,
Like an auric field,
Radiating from every cell in your body,
That is who you are,
And so then we watch the mind,
We watch the stories,
That make us feel separate from that disconnected,
And we observe them,
We smile at them,
It's just the mind,
It's not who I am,
And then throughout the day you will remember,
That if you're feeling anything that's not this whole beautiful state of being,
Oh,
It's just the mind,
And then once again rest in being you,
And so carry this feeling,
This beautiful expansive state of aliveness and love into your day,
And remember,
If you're feeling anything that's not this,
Then it's the mind,
And remember,
If you're feeling anything that's not this,
Then it's the mind,
It's not who you really are.
I see you.
Namaste.
