Thank you very much.
Now please turn off your mobile phones.
Even better,
Throw them in the dustbin and have a nice peaceful life like me.
It's really great not having a mobile phone.
So if I need to call someone,
I usually call somebody else's.
So now is the time for some peace and quiet,
Some meditation,
And some nice calm,
Soft,
Gentle time with yourself.
So please close your eyes.
Keep with your eyes closed.
Bring all your attention into this hall,
Into this moment,
Into this body.
We do spend such a lot of time running all over the place,
Which we have to do.
Very so often we set time aside for the purpose of peace,
For the purpose of rest.
Such a time is now.
It's called meditation,
A special time which we reserve for calm,
Not for doing things or working out the meaning of life,
Just for resting,
For being still.
We begin by experiencing our body,
Using our mindfulness to be aware as much as we can of the physical feelings and seeing whatever we can do to calm them down and make them more peaceful.
We begin by experiencing our body,
Our mind,
Our mind,
Our mind,
Our mind.
Just relaxing the body in which you live.
If you want to adjust your physical posture,
Moving your legs,
Adjusting your bottom,
Stretching,
Scratching,
Please do so.
But do so with your eyes closed,
So you can become much more sensitive to what your body needs.
You can do this,
You can do this,
You can do this,
You can do this.
You can do this.
Just keep focusing the mind in this present moment,
Just now.
Just now.
Or the future,
We're not going to be concerned or worried about it.
Understanding the best place we can do anything about our future is right now.
Right now is where your future is being made.
So focus in the present.
And the past is like this huge,
Heavy backpack we keep carrying around with us.
Now in meditation you're allowed and encouraged to take that backpack off.
So you can be in this moment carrying no burdens from your past,
Just being now free like a bird that carries no backpack.
I've never seen a bird carrying suitcases.
I've never seen a bird carrying suitcases.
I've never seen a bird carrying suitcases.
I've never seen a bird carrying suitcases.
I've never seen a bird carrying suitcases.
I've never seen a bird carrying suitcases.
I've never seen a bird carrying suitcases.
I've never seen a bird carrying suitcases.
Being in this moment,
See if you can calm down the inner conversation.
So you're feeling this moment rather than thinking about it.
Shhh.
Calm down the inner commentary.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Shhh.
Getting close to the end of the meditation,
As the lights go up,
How do you feel?
What is the change from the beginning of the meditation to this moment towards the end?
Because this is the result of thirty minutes of letting go.
The deeper you let go,
The more power,
The more peace,
The more bliss.
Let go a little and you have happiness.
Let go a lot.
You have ecstasy.
That is the saying of the Buddha in the Dharmapada.
I'm now going to ring the gong three times.
Please listen to every sound from the gong and let the last ringing take you out from meditation back into the world.
Shhh.
