Welcome to this practice,
Dear intuitive one.
This is an inward journey to find stillness within,
To soothe and regulate your senses and calm your nervous system.
This gentle centering practice guides you to sense into the movement of your breath within your body,
To lean into the soft somatic pressure that's created with each inhale and each exhale you give yourself.
These little internal somatic pressures can feel like a weighted blanket,
A loving hug from a friend,
Or the safe comfort that's felt when an animal friend leans in close to offer love and companionship,
Helping you to settle down and ground into the now.
For this practice,
If you're able and move to do so,
I invite you to rest on the floor.
Place a pillow under your knees to support your legs and your back,
And let your body settle in,
Giving yourself permission to adjust,
Finding that perfect placement,
Adjusting until you feel supported and able to ease into the loving support offered to you by the earth.
When you feel settled,
I invite you to sense into the areas of your body that are touching the floor.
Softly rest your eyes.
Give yourself permission to allow any outside stimulation to drift farther and farther away.
Open your inner senses.
Give them permission to awaken.
Sense into your breath's rhythm moving throughout your body.
There's no need to force your breath.
There's no need to breathe deeper,
Unless it feels natural and easy to do so.
As you listen inward,
Your breath is free to do what it does best.
To flow.
To pause.
To flow and pause again.
Your breath knows how to breathe.
It knows the way.
Give your breath artistic license to create its own perfectly unique pace,
Flow,
And depth.
Sense into the soothing somatic pressures created by this movement of breath.
Allow this safe sensation within you to soften you,
To nurture you,
To comfort you.
When you're ready,
I invite you to shift your inner listening to noticing the pressure created between your body and the floor with each inhale and each exhale.
Let this soft pressure help you define your edges,
Edges of where you end and the rest of the world begins,
So you feel safe easing home to your center,
So you feel supported in reclaiming your center.
Let these little somatic pressures that you can sense between you and the floor soothe and nurture you with each inhale and exhale you give yourself.
Let this effortless movement of your breath support you in softening your shoulders,
Releasing your jaw,
Relaxing your hips,
So you can rest easy here in this inner space,
This inner calm,
This supported still point within you.
Let these rhythms of your breath teach you about your body.
Let these rhythms teach you about your spirit.
Let these rhythms of your breath flowing through you teach you about the deep love affair between your body and your spirit.
And let these rhythms help welcome you home to your center.
Thank you,
Dear intuitive one,
For listening today.
I appreciate you,
And I appreciate our time together today.
