Welcome my beautiful souls to this wonderful meditation about art being medicine.
So take a moment now to arrive,
Find a position that feels supportive for your body.
You may be seated or lying down,
Whatever allows you to soften.
Gently close your eyes,
Take a slow breath in through your nose and a long unhurried breath out through your mouth.
And again breathing in and breathing out.
There is nothing you need to do in this moment,
Nothing you need to solve,
Nothing you need to become.
This hour is yours,
A sacred hour,
An hour of gentle medicine.
Bring your awareness to your feet,
Notice the sensations there,
Warm or cool,
Heavy or light.
Imagine roots growing slowly from the soles of your feet,
Moving down into the earth,
Finding stability,
Support,
Belonging.
The earth welcomes you.
Let that grounded feeling rise upward into your ankles,
Your calves,
Your knees.
Release any tension as you go.
Bring awareness into your thighs and hips,
A place where so much is held and allow softness here.
You are allowed to rest.
Bring attention to your belly,
Let it rise naturally with the breath,
No holding in,
No bracing.
Feel your chest,
Your heart space gently rising and falling.
Your shoulders soften,
Your arms grow heavy,
Your hands unclench,
Your neck lengthens,
Your jaw releases,
Your forehead smooths.
Your whole body now rests,
Held,
Safe,
Supported.
Now gently bring to mind the idea of art.
Not art for performance,
Not art for perfection and not art for approval,
But art as expression,
Art as truth,
Art as medicine,
Art as the language your soul spoke long before words.
Silently ask yourself,
What wants to be expressed through me?
You do not need an answer,
Just openness.
Feel this intention settle gently into your heart like a seed placed in fertile soil.
Imagine now you are standing at the entrance of a beautiful inner space.
This may be a sunlit studio,
A forest clearing or a seaside hut or maybe just somewhere entirely your own.
This is your inner studio.
Step inside.
Notice the light here,
The textures,
The atmosphere.
In this space there is no judgment,
No comparison and definitely no rush.
Only honesty,
Only permission.
Look around you slowly.
You may notice colors,
Tools,
Symbols or simply a sense of creative energy waiting patiently.
And this place exists solely for your healing.
In your inner studio,
Imagine sitting or standing before your chosen medium.
You do not need to create yet,
Just first you listen.
Bring awareness to your heart,
Your body,
Your emotional landscape and ask softly,
What am I carrying right now?
Whatever arises,
Emotion,
Fatigue,
Grief,
Longing,
Hope,
These are all welcome.
And now imagine your heart beginning to move on its own.
Your heart is flowing with color,
With words forming,
Hands shaping,
Sound humming,
Breath moving.
You are not forcing expression,
You are allowing it.
And each movement carries something out of you.
Old tension,
Unspoken feelings,
Stories your body has been holding.
There is relief here.
There is medicine here.
Now notice something gently shifting.
Your heart begins to reflect something back to you.
Not judgment,
Not critique,
But recognition.
You are seen,
Seen in your tenderness,
Seen in your resilience,
Seen in your beautiful courage.
You might place a hand over your heart and say,
I'm allowed to express myself.
My feelings are worthy of space.
My creativity heals me.
And let these truths settle deep into your nervous system.
Begin to gently step back from your inner studio.
And know that this place is never lost.
You can return here anytime.
With a pen,
A brush,
Your voice,
Your breath.
Art is not something you add to your life,
It is something you remember.
Imagine carrying a small spark of this creative medicine every day with you.
And perhaps it rests in your chest,
In your hands,
In your voice.
And the spark glows so brightly whenever you need it.
Now bring your awareness back to your physical body.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Feel the gentle rhythm of your breath.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Slowly but softly.
And take one final deep breath in.
Offer quiet gratitude to yourself,
To your creativity,
To the healing power of expression.
And when you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Art is your medicine and it lives within you.
Blessings,
Dear ones.
Namaste.
