This is an alternative chanting practice I learned on metta retreat. It is simply a repetitive melody using the pali words for the brahmaviharas, metta, karuna, mudita and upekkha. These translate to loving friendliness, compassion, empathetic joy and equanimity. It feels so good and soothing to sing along, knowing that the lyrics are as wholesome as it gets.
