Bija Mantra Chanting Meditation (No Music)
Bija mantras are "seed sounds" of the chakras. I invite you to chant along with me or just listen to my chants as you rest your awareness on each chakra, moving up along the spine. There will be time to observe the results of this chanting and attention, as sensations may come up physically, emotionally or mentally. Please enjoy the practice. Much love!

Welcome to this Bija Mantra meditation.
For this meditation,
I invite you to sit up with a nice tall spine,
Using your back muscles to really hold yourself up while softening the front and the rest of the body as much as possible.
By keeping a nice tall spine,
We allow the energy to flow in the spine and through the chakras that we'll be working on in this practice.
But if this is not possible for you,
Please by all means feel free to lie down.
So finding a nice comfortable seat,
Settle in and perhaps take a few moments to look around the space that you're in and consciously take in everything that's around you,
Noticing that there's nothing that you need to do,
Everything is in its place and you can turn your attention inwards.
Perhaps there's something in your environment that when you look at it helps you to feel calm,
To feel centred,
Perhaps a plant,
A tree,
A beloved pet or an object that you love.
And then either gently closing the eyes or taking a soft gaze down in front of you,
Let's take three deeper breaths to relax the body.
Inhaling into the belly,
Topping up at the chest and long exhales through the mouth.
Deep breath in,
Topping up at the chest and exhaling as if through a straw.
Last time,
Deep breath in top it up at the chest and long exhale,
Relaxing the body down into the seat.
And bring your attention to the body,
Relaxing any obvious areas of tension in the body and just allowing the sensations to be as they are.
Notice the parts of your body that are in contact with the floor or with the chair and how gravity holds you up and you can settle down into her embrace.
And bringing the attention now to the any emotions that may be present,
Allowing them also to be just as they are.
Maybe bringing an inner smile,
Gentle smile of welcoming to any emotions without the need to cover up or change anything,
Just opening up things exactly as they are.
And bringing our attention to the mind in the same way,
Noticing any thoughts or beliefs that may be popping up and again allowing them to be here without the need to push them away or to follow the story of them.
And bringing the attention to the spine.
Notice if you can feel the physical extension of the spine,
The vertebrae,
All the way from the tailbone to the crown of your head,
The energetic extension of the spine.
And perhaps you feel this energy as a column of light running down through the crown of your head into your spine from the heavens,
Down through your body,
Into the earth,
Through the tailbone,
Connecting you to heaven and earth.
And moving the attention now to the base of the spine,
Muladhara chakra.
The root of this chakra is located on the tip of the tailbone,
The coccyx,
And the flower opens towards the pelvic floor into the earth.
The Bija mantra is LAM.
So feel free to chant along with me or simply listen to the vibrations as you keep the attention at this chakra.

Or any thoughts that may arise.
Gently bringing the attention up now along the spine to svaristana chakra.
The root of this chakra is located in the sacrum and the flower opens towards the lowest part of the belly.
The Bija mantra is VAM.
So keeping your attention anywhere in the area of this chakra that feels natural,

Sahasrara chakra.
The root of this chakra is located on the physical crown of the head,
And the flower opens up into the space above the head towards the heavens.
There is no Bija mantra for this chakra,
So we will chant three rolling OMs at our own pace so if my pace does not match yours,
Feel free to chant for a shorter or longer time depending on your breath.
And after we finish chanting,
We will sit and marinate in the sensations and vibrations we've created for a couple of minutes.
Inhaling for OM.
OM OM OM OM OM OM OM Gently bringing your hands together at the heart,
And bringing the attention and energy to the heart.
Notice how you feel.
Thanking the heart.
Thanking our bodies.
Thanking all that brought us here,
And offering up the benefits of this practice for all beings everywhere.
Bowing the head to the heart,
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
And whenever you're ready,
Gently blinking the eyes open,
Coming back to the room that you're in,
Wishing you a blessed day,
And hope to see you again soon.
Much love.
