This Yoga Nidra practice is a tool for you to use for healing yourself on any level,
Be it physical,
Mental,
Emotional or spiritual.
You are a powerful healer and you have within you all that is necessary to return to your innate wholeness and well-being.
If you are wishing to heal a particular issue,
It may be helpful to do this practice regularly.
Begin by finding a comfortable and supported position,
Ideally lying down,
Where you won't be disturbed.
You may choose to place a pillow under your knees to support your lower back and a small roll under the neck to support the head.
Placing an eye pillow over the eyes or a piece of material will support you to rest more deeply,
And I suggest covering yourself with a blanket as your body temperature will drop during the session.
Make any final wriggles and adjustments so you feel really comfortable and can remain still for the duration of this practice.
Allow your shoulders to drop,
Shoulder blades to melt into the surface beneath you.
Feel your arms heavy,
Allow the palms of the hands to soften and open.
Belly is soft,
Hips relax.
Both legs are heavy down into the support beneath you,
Soles of the feet are soft.
Feel length through the spine,
The neck is long.
Feel muscles relax,
Softening tiny muscles around the corners of the eyes.
Feel cheekbones soften and relax.
Allow the teeth to slightly part,
Relaxing the jaw and letting the tongue rest in the base of the mouth.
Your whole body is soft and relaxed.
As you begin,
Identify one issue that you'd like to heal.
Perhaps it's a physical symptom,
Or maybe it's a limiting belief,
Pattern of thinking,
Or a stuck emotion.
It can be on any level of your being,
Just let it come to you.
Know that this can and will be healed in perfect timing.
Release all doubt.
With your eyes closed,
See the room around you,
The walls,
The ceiling,
Windows and floor.
Sense anything else in the room that stands out in your awareness.
Then let the eyes soften,
Feeling the left eyeball relax into its socket,
Relaxing right eyeball into its socket.
Both eyes relax and release the effort of looking.
Bring awareness to the inner ears.
Relax and soften the left inner ear.
Relax and soften the right inner ear.
As you soften both inner ears,
Allow the sense of hearing to soften and open.
Notice how you can pick up on the sounds in the distance.
Let your awareness travel from sound to sound.
Send your listening a little further out.
Move your attention to sounds just outside the room you're in.
Become aware of the sounds inside the room.
You now sense sounds inside your body.
Sense the subtle sounds of your heart beating and your breath moving in and out.
Listen to your inner experience with your whole being.
Sense the way the breath fills the belly like a balloon on the inhale and slowly releases on the exhale.
Allow for a long,
Slow,
Deep breath into the belly and a longer,
Slower exhale as the belly drops.
Breathe in peace and healing energy into all levels of your being.
As you exhale,
Consciously release any stress or tension you've been carrying.
Begin to count down on each exhale,
Starting at the number 11.
As you exhale,
You'll silently say exhaling 11.
On the next exhale,
Exhaling 10.
If you lose the count,
Just begin again at 11.
There's nowhere to get to.
Continue counting down the exhales,
Dropping deeper into rest with each breath.
At the end of your next exhale,
Release the focus on your breath.
Let go of the counting.
Notice the calming effect of the breath and let go into it.
Relax the jaw,
The tongue,
Feel the shoulders melt,
Hips are heavy,
Belly is soft,
The bones in your body are heavy.
Slowly melt into the support beneath you as you commit your body to stillness for the remainder of this practice.
There is nothing for you to do and nowhere to go.
Let your awareness rest in the center of your chest.
Notice a very subtle sensation of breath moving in and out of the heart center.
As you rest into your heart center,
Begin to imagine that the issue you want to heal is already completely healed.
See and feel yourself as you will be when this healing is complete.
See the details of what you are doing,
Believing and feeling in this new state.
Let this become more and more clear and alive for you.
Let the feeling get stronger.
As you sense your wholeness,
Feel the gratitude that arises for this well-being and freedom.
Give thanks and then completely release this intention to spirit to take care of.
I will now lead you through a rotation of consciousness throughout the body.
As I name each body part,
Bring your full awareness and attention to the sensation in that area.
Beginning with both hands,
Become aware of the sensation in the palms of both hands.
Think about it or imagine it.
Just let the sensation in both hands reveal itself as you place your awareness there.
Become aware of the sensation in the fingertips of the left hand.
Beginning with the tip of the thumb,
Tip of the index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger and little finger.
Sense all of the fingers on the left hand and the space between the fingers.
Sense the back of the left hand,
Palm of the left hand,
The whole left hand as a field of sensation.
Follow the flow of sensation to the left wrist,
Center of the left forearm,
Inside left elbow,
Center of the left upper arm,
Inside left shoulder.
Sense the whole of the left arm from fingertips to elbow to shoulder as a field of sensation and energy.
Let go of any idea of the shape or image of the left arm.
Directly experience it as it is in this moment.
Bring your awareness to the third eye center,
Between and just above the eyebrows.
Relax and soften the third eye,
Your intuitive center.
Relax and soften the front of the brain and the thinking mind.
Feel it let go.
Sense the palm of your right hand and the fingertips of the right hand,
Beginning with the tip of the thumb,
Tip of the index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Little finger.
Sense all of the fingers on the right hand and the space between the fingers.
Sense the back of the hand,
The palm of the hand,
The whole hand.
Allow sensation in the whole of the right hand to open up as you rest your awareness on it.
Allow the flow of sensation to the right wrist,
Right forearm,
Inside right elbow,
Center of the right upper arm,
Inside right shoulder.
Sense the whole of the right arm,
From fingertips to elbow to shoulder,
As one continuum of sensation and vibration.
Sense the whole of the right arm.
Sense both arms at the same time.
Sense both arms at the same time.
Bring your awareness back to the third eye center,
Relaxing the front of the brain and the thinking mind.
Soften and relax the third eye center.
Sense the midline of your body running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head,
Just in front of your spine.
See a golden thread of energy running up the central axis of your body.
Now bring awareness to energy centers along this golden pathway,
Beginning with the root chakra at the base of your spine.
Sense the sensation at the base of the spine.
Become aware of sensation at the second chakra,
Midway between the base of the spine and the navel center.
Moving attention to the third chakra,
Sensing the energy center at the navel center.
Become aware of sensation at the heart center,
Center of the chest,
Base of the throat,
Third eye.
Sense Sahasrara chakra at the very center of the crown of the head.
Become aware of sensation at the center of the top of your head.
Sense the whole midline of your body from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.
Rest into this golden pathway of sensation and vibration.
And bring your attention to the very center of your brain,
The region of the pineal gland.
Soften and relax the center of your brain,
Allowing the subconscious mind to relax and let go.
Relaxing the subconscious mind.
Become aware of the sensation of the soles of both feet,
Allowing sensation in the soles of the feet to reveal itself in your awareness.
Sense the sensation in the toes on the left foot,
Beginning with the big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Top of the foot,
Whole of the left foot,
Left ankle,
Middle of left calf muscle,
Left shin bone,
Inside left knee,
Middle of left thigh bone,
Inside left hip.
Let the sensation in the left hip open up as you place your awareness there.
Allow your awareness to expand to include the whole of the left leg,
From the toes to the knee to the hip.
Sensing the whole of the left leg as it is in this moment.
Bring your attention to the center of the back of the brain.
Relax and soften the back of the brain and the unconscious mind.
Feel the unconscious mind relax and let go of old programming that is no longer serving your well-being.
Relax the back of the brain.
Move your attention into your right foot.
Sense the sole of the right foot and all the toes on the right foot.
Big toe,
Second toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe,
Top of the foot.
Sense the whole of the right foot as one unit of energy.
Stay with my voice as you follow sensation to the right ankle,
Center of the right calf muscle,
Right shin bone,
Inside right knee,
Center of the right thigh bone,
Inside right hip.
Let sensation reveal itself inside right hip.
Sense the whole of the right leg as one connected field of sensation.
Let go of thinking about it or imagining it and experience the whole of the right leg as it is in this moment.
Include in your awareness both legs at the same time.
Both legs as one continuum of sensation.
And include in your awareness both legs and both arms.
Include the whole of the torso,
Neck and head.
Awareness filling the whole front of the body and the whole back of the body.
Sensing the whole left side of the body and the whole right side of the body.
Sense the whole body as one field of sensation and vibration.
Let go of any memory of the shape or form of the body.
Let go of any ideas or thinking about the body and directly experience it as it is in this moment.
Whole body resting on the surface beneath you.
As you let go of ideas of your physical form and shape,
Feel yourself opening into your infinite self.
Resting into unbounded sensation and awareness.
Allow thoughts,
Feelings,
Sensations to come and go.
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to change.
Simply allowing what is to be as it is.
Rest into the underlying peace and stillness of your being.
Rest into wholeness.
Into well-being.
Letting go.
Letting go.
Letting go.
Very gently begin to notice the way the body is being breathed without your effort or intention.
Sense the points of contact between the body and the surface beneath you.
Back of the shoulder blades.
Backs of the legs.
Backs of the arms.
Back of the head.
Sense the support that is rising up to hold you and the way the body rests deeply into that support.
Bring your attention back to the heart center,
Center of the chest.
And reconnect with the you who has healed the issue you are wanting to heal.
What are you doing?
How are you feeling?
What are you believing and knowing in this version of you?
Imagine this is already true and let the feelings amplify.
You may choose to silently repeat these words.
Already healed.
Already whole.
Already healed.
Already whole.
Feel the gratitude you have for this healing as if it has already taken place.
Feel the whole body with the sensation of gratitude as you breathe in deeply to every part of you.
And exhale.
Allow some gentle movement to awaken in your fingers and toes.
It may feel good to let your head fall slowly to the side and then to the other side.
As you're ready,
Reach your right arm overhead and rest for a while on your right side.
In your own time,
Come up to sitting and take a few moments to rest in a seated position before continuing on with your day.
Sending you blessings for total and complete healing.
With much love,
Namaste.
