Make yourself comfortable,

Seated or lying down.

Breathing deeply at your own pace.

With each inhale,

Feeling your ribcage expanding.

And with each exhale,

Letting any worries,

Stories or words drift away with your breath.

Feel the weight of your body on the floor or on the chair.

Feeling that connection to the Earth as she sustains and supports you on your path.

As you continue to inhale and exhale,

Expanding and letting go.

Check in with your body to find and release any muscle tension you might be holding onto.

Letting that tension drift away on each breath.

Bringing your attention to your feet.

Imagining your whole consciousness can be contained in your toes,

In your arches,

In your heels.

Looking for tension or pain and letting it all melt away with your next exhale.

As you continue to inhale and exhale,

Expanding and letting go.

Move up your body to your ankles,

Lower legs and knees.

Take a moment to just be there,

The muscles,

Tendons and bones.

Looking for any pain or tension and letting it all melt away with your next exhale.

Exhaling to inhale and exhale,

Expanding and letting go.

Feel as your consciousness moves up through your body to your thighs and hips.

Take a moment to be there with the muscles,

Tendons,

Internal organs and bones.

Looking for any pain or tension and letting it all melt away with your next exhale.

As you continue to move up through your torso,

Continuing to inhale and exhale.

Breathing at your own pace.

And feeling your belly and lower back expanding with each inhale.

And as you let that breath go,

Letting any remaining tension drift away on your breath.

Exhaling to move up through your torso,

Checking in with your chest and upper back.

Continuing to breathe deeply at your own pace.

With each inhale,

Feeling your rib cage expanding and with each exhale,

Releasing any muscle tension you might be holding on to.

Letting all that tension drift away along with your breath.

Breathing upward to your shoulders,

Feeling for any tension you might be holding on to.

Muscles softening.

Arms and wrists and fingers,

Feeling limp and heavy,

Releasing any tension as you continue to breathe at your own pace.

And as you continue to inhale and exhale,

Expanding and letting go.

Inhale as your consciousness moves up through your neck and jaw.

Taking a moment to just be there with the muscles and tendons,

Feeling for any tension and letting it all drift away with your next breath.

Moving up to your scalp and forehead,

The muscles around your eyes,

Releasing and softening.

As you continue to breathe at your own pace,

Feeling for any tension you might be holding on to and letting it all melt away.

Breathing in the shimmering,

Sparkling energy of gratitude.

Imagine it moving throughout your beautiful,

Strong and resilient body,

Loving and supporting and healing and thanking it for all it does.

Continue to breathe deeply and at your own pace until you feel ready to come back into the room and open your eyes.

Thank you for taking this time for you.

I found the teacher’s voice and background music soothing. Although I would have preferred the music to be a little quieter to better hear the teacher. However I definitely felt more calm after this meditation. I felt lighter. I appreciated the teacher reminding me to breathe at my own pace. Thank you for offering this.
