As a new year begins, it can be tempting to skip over what has already been lived. This one-hour guided reflection is an invitation to pause and honor the days that shaped you. This is more of a reflection practice than a typical meditation, so it can help to listen with a calendar, journal, or anything you can write on nearby. You are welcome to pause anytime to note what you remember, sit with what surfaces, or simply breathe. You’ll be guided to move through the year season by season, noticing what stands out and what still feels unfinished. The prompts are simple and steady: · What did you accomplish, and how can you feel your commitment and effort? · Were there disappointments you can release so you feel more complete? · Are there unresolved items or requests that would help you finish the year well? · What did you let go of, and what newly emerged? This episode is a live session recording, so you may notice natural pauses and gentle references to shared practice.

There are a few questions that I'm inviting you to reflect on.

And the first is,

You know,

What you accomplished,

How can you experience your commitment and effort that went into it?

The second is any disappointments,

How you can let go of whatever it is to feel complete with it,

Which means it doesn't mean it's necessarily done,

But you can mentally let go of it.

Do you have any unresolved items or requests or people to finish out the year well?

And then thinking about what you let go of and then what newly emerged.

Now,

I would like to start the way we normally start,

Which means with a bell and a few breaths and closing our eyes and getting ourselves grounded here.

And then I'll invite you to open your eyes if you choose and think through the year.

Okay,

So when you hear the bell,

Start with three deep breaths,

Inhaling and exhaling,

Centering yourself in your space.

Let's take a moment to notice the breath,

The rise and fall of your shoulders,

Inviting the breath to allow this moment to center you,

Letting go of whatever it took to arrive here so that you can be present to this moment.

Now,

Let us begin our reflection.

If you choose,

You can open your eyes.

And bring forth last year's winter season.

Notice where you were.

What was that experience of the new year?

And for this season,

I invite you to think about the questions what did I accomplish?

How can I experience and feel my commitment and effort?

Were there any disappointments?

Can I let go of something to be complete with it?

Do I have any unresolved items?

Are there any requests or something left to be done to be complete?

What did I let go of?

What newly emerged?

Notice if you had a commitment or declaration as you started the year last year.

Notice where you were,

Who you were with.

From January,

Bring yourself to February and March,

Holding the winter season.

Noticing what you can acknowledge and what you can let go of.

Notice if there were any disappointments or unresolved items.

Are there any requests that you can make to feel complete?

Something you can let go of to allow yourself to feel complete?

Allow the new to emerge.

Notice for the winter season if there's anything left that's unresolved.

Any requests that you can make or something that you can let go of to feel complete?

Becoming present to who you were then.

And who you are becoming.

Notice where your energy went as we enter spring.

Closing out the winter season and entering towards the end of March and April.

What mattered to you then?

Notice if you can feel or internalize all that was accomplished.

Are there any requests that you can make to feel complete?

Something you can let go of to allow the new to emerge?

Noticing what you can acknowledge and what you can let go of.

What newly emerged for you in April and May of last year?

Notice where you were,

Who you were with.

Becoming present to who you were then.

And who you are becoming.

Notice if there were any new conversations happening as spring emerged.

Noticing what you can acknowledge and what you can let go of.

And notice where you were as you entered June.

And the cusp between spring and summer.

Are there any requests or something left to be done to be complete?

Notice where you were,

Who you were with.

What did the season from spring to summer to change hold for you?

Now we enter the summer months.

Closing out June and moving into July.

Notice if there were any disappointments or unresolved items from the early summer months.

Something that you can mentally release.

Noticing what you can acknowledge and what you can let go of.

Are there any requests that you can make to feel complete?

Something you can let go of to allow the new to emerge?

Summer months.

Becoming present to who you were then.

And who you are now.

You are becoming.

Noticing what you can acknowledge and what you can let go of.

Notice if there were any disappointments or unresolved items.

Bring yourself to the transition months of September and October.

The shift from summer to fall.

Are there any requests or something left to be done to be complete?

Any incomplete items?

And then the space that's newly emerging.

Notice who you were being,

Where you were,

What conversations you are having.

Bring yourself to the entirety of the fall season.

October,

November.

Into the early December.

November,

December.

Into the early November months.

Notice all that you experienced and all that you can let go of.

Notice where your energy and time was spent this fall.

Becoming present to who you were then.

And who you are becoming.

Notice any unresolved or lingering items from November and early December.

Are there any requests that you can make to feel complete?

Something you can let go of to allow the new to emerge?

Notice if you can feel or internalize all that was accomplished.

Bringing yourself to December.

Notice how this year has shaped you.

What are you ready to let go of and who are you becoming?

Notice if there were any disappointments or unresolved items.

Notice who you were being,

Where you were,

What conversations you are having.

Look at your year in its entirety.

At the accomplishments.

Any incomplete items.

And then the space that's newly emerging.

Your eyes are open.

You might choose to close them and take a few deep breaths.

Acknowledging yourself for setting this time to reflect on the year.

Offering gratitude for all that has passed and all that is to come.
