Change is a natural part of life, yet it can feel unsettling or overwhelming. This meditation invites you to explore change through open awareness, meeting each moment with presence, curiosity, and ease rather than resistance. You are guided to notice thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and sounds as they arise and pass, allowing experience to unfold as it is. Through this practice, change can be seen as a dynamic movement of life rather than a problem to solve. Over time, resting in open awareness can support greater clarity, emotional resilience, and inner steadiness. This meditation is a recording from a live Journey You Own Meditation Gathering and may include natural pauses and gentle references to a shared group practice.

Take a moment to settle into the space,

Just noticing what energy you're coming into this practice with.

Tune into your body and your breath,

Noticing the inhalation and exhalation.

And take a moment to notice your thoughts,

What's present for you this morning.

Let's take a few minutes just to honor whatever thoughts are arising,

Noticing them and then letting them pass and inviting any new thought to enter.

Notice if there's any color or sensation associated with your thoughts.

See how your body might be feeling having them pass by instead of sitting with them or dwelling with them.

You might even see yourself as floating above your mind,

As an outsider noticing what's happening inside the mind.

Now let's take a moment to clear all thoughts.

Notice the vastness of sitting in open awareness.

Now to this blank slate,

Bring forth the word change and all its meanings and manifestations in your life and see what thoughts,

Feelings,

Emotions,

Sensations arise when you think of the word change.

Notice if change appears in your body in certain locations.

If there's a particular circumstance surrounding change,

Dive into it a little deeper.

Notice where your attachment might lie with the past,

If there's any hesitation about future and reflect in the present.

Notice if you can let go of something in the past in order to open a possibility for future.

Equally,

See what has served you in the past that you'd like to carry forth into future.

Now I invite you again to redefine what change means for you.

How do you experience it?

How does it manifest?

And how can you use it to move forward?

Now gently release your thoughts and turn your awareness back to the breath.

Noticing your inhalation and exhalation.

Noticing any tightness that you might be holding in your body.

Take a moment to breathe into those areas.

Do a quick body scan from head to toe.

Drawing the breath in and then fully exhaling.

With each breath clearing the mind,

Relaxing the body and sitting in stillness.

Then as we close out our practice,

Final minutes,

And take a moment to set an aspiration.

It can be an intention,

A prayer,

A wish that you place out to the universe.

Thank you.
