Letting Go Of False Beliefs
In this guided meditation, you will work on releasing one false belief that you find limits you in your life. I teach you the tools during the meditation to repeat this technique for future healings with other false beliefs you face.
Transcript
We are going to start this meditation by you focusing on your breath.
Take a moment to close your eyes and notice how you are breathing.
Are you taking in deep steady breaths or are they short and quick?
Just take some time to notice without any judgment.
As we go through this meditation,
It will be important that you take deep full breaths to help with this relaxation.
On the next inhale,
I want you to focus on filling all of your lungs from the bottom all the way to the top.
As you exhale,
Breathe out through your mouth.
Breathe in through your nose,
Filling your lungs from the bottom to the top and out through your mouth.
Now we are going to focus on one false belief regarding you,
Grief or life challenges that you are ready to let go of.
As I guide you through the meditation,
Please know that some of you will be able to see what I describe.
Some of you will sense it and some of you will hear confirmations that you are experiencing the imagery.
There is no one way to experience guided meditation.
Your way is right for you and healing can still occur.
Let go of any judgments or expectations around what you should see or experience during this meditation right now.
At any time you can pause this meditation to continue to focus on the area that is important to you.
Let's begin.
I want you to imagine there is a little version of you within yourself and you can travel throughout your body this way,
Checking in on what needs care inside of you.
Now I want that little version of you to travel up to your brain,
The area of our bodies that holds all our thoughts and memories,
Our to do list and our worries and stresses in life.
This is also where our false beliefs hang out.
I want you to imagine you can put your hands on different areas of your brain.
As you start to explore with your hands,
I want you to notice one false belief that comes to light.
You recognize this false belief and it starts to become like writing on the wall of your brain.
Maybe you can trace this false belief to your childhood or repeated events that have happened in your life.
Or maybe it came from one comment made to you from someone important that seemed to get stuck in your mind.
There it is written out for you,
One false belief that has kept you trapped.
Maybe it says you're not worthy.
You're not enough.
Grief is horrible.
Run away from it.
This life challenge is happening because of something you did.
Whatever the false belief is,
I want you to imagine touching the words on the wall.
And as you run your hands over the words,
You feel every time you have believed this false belief to be true.
Continue to take deep breaths as memories and emotions come back.
Remember moments in your life that someone confirmed this false belief.
Remember feelings you had about yourself and others in relation to this false belief.
Continue to breathe.
You start to notice that the more you experience this belief,
Through memories,
Emotions,
Words and sounds,
A prison starts to build up around you.
On the walls of this prison are this false belief written over and over.
The prison is becoming stronger.
Notice what the walls are made of.
Go around and touch them.
Are they made of metal or stone?
Earth and rock?
Or some other material?
What does it feel like in this prison?
Is it cold or hot?
Damp or dry?
Do you have a lot of space inside?
Or is it really small?
Are there windows to see out?
Or is it completely dark inside?
How are you feeling by being in this prison?
What emotions are coming up for you?
I want you to see the words again all around you of this one false belief that you have held for so long to be true.
The reality is that healthy beliefs do not put us in prisons like this.
When we start to sense that we are trapped or in a prison because of a particular belief,
It is more than likely a false belief that no longer serves us.
The reality is that healthy beliefs do not put us in prisons like this.
When we start to sense that we are trapped or in a prison because of a particular belief,
It is more than likely a false belief that no longer serves us.
So here you are in this prison.
No matter who you call out to,
They can't hear you.
No matter what you say,
It doesn't change the prison.
But now it's time to break free.
Stand in the middle of the prison and look at one of the walls.
The longer you look at the wall,
The more you notice a door starting to form.
Walk up to it and explore the door.
What does it look like?
What shape is it?
As you explore,
You notice there is one key element of a prison door that is missing.
There is no lock on this door.
You can open it at any time and walk out.
You are in a prison with no lock on the door.
What are you going to do?
For many,
This can be a scary moment.
We don't always know what is on the other side of this prison.
If this false belief is no longer true,
Then what does that mean?
Sometimes staying in this prison is comfortable because it forms how we understand the world to work.
But because you have chosen this one false belief to face and let go of,
It's time.
Imagine you push open the door and start to walk out.
As you step out,
You notice all around you is this huge open field and the sun's rays touching warmly on your skin.
This place feels safe.
You notice there's a crowd of people that seem to have been waiting for you.
They're clapping and cheering.
It's like they've been waiting all this time for you to let yourself out and now they're ready to celebrate.
Some of the people you know as family and friends,
And some maybe you don't know,
But you know that they're here to support you.
They run towards you,
Giving you big hugs.
You are so relieved and grateful for all of the support.
See?
You're not alone.
Now that you've stepped out of the prison and away from this false belief,
You are not alone.
Often when we are in a prison,
We believe that there is no one and that we are all by ourselves.
But today is different.
Today you have a full crowd of support to welcome you.
They are ready to watch you live life more fully by letting go of this false belief.
The crowd begins to move back,
Allowing you to stand fully in who you are without this prison around you.
You know now you no longer have to be blocked by this old belief.
You turn around and notice that the prison is now just a little rock on the ground.
Take a moment to pick it up.
Reflect on what it taught you.
Did this false belief make you stronger?
Strengthen your faith?
Push you to grow?
Whatever it is,
Take a moment to say thank you to it.
Now imagine a large body of water becomes clearer in front of you.
You know that it's time to let go of this false belief.
You throw that small rock into the water so it can no longer impact you anymore.
You see it hit the water and disappear.
You feel a sense of relief.
Moments may come up in your day or week that make you reflect on this false belief.
Bring yourself back to this field and the sun shining on your skin.
Remember the crowd of people supporting you and the little rock you threw into the water.
Imagine yourself,
You no longer need this false belief.
Take a deep breath in and feel your body covered in this relief and joy.
Experience the relaxation of letting go and being in the moment.
Give yourself some gratitude for the growth you just made.
Thank you for being willing to grow and be healthier in this moment.
Take one more deep breath in.
As you are ready,
Open your eyes.
I hope you've enjoyed today's meditation.
Know that you can come back to this anytime and face a new false belief each time.
I recommend only doing this once or twice a day to allow the healing to fully take place.
Remember to always reflect on what you learned from being in that prison before letting go of the rock into the water.
This is how we really bring about full growth.
Know that there are so many around you who support you,
Love you,
And are ready for you to live life to the fullest.

Very powerful meditation. Was not expecting the flood gates to open. I know she says you can pause at any time if you need more time, I feel if she spoke a little slower and integrated moments of silence it could be that much more powerful and healing. Thanks for thisβ€
