Loving yourself for who you are is so fundamental,
And we take it for granted if we've cultivated this skill,
And long to have this feeling if we haven't yet fully arrived into this place of comfort with ourselves.
As you prepare to listen to this meditation,
Find a comfortable place to get settled in and cozy.
Only listen to this meditation when you are in a relaxed,
Safe place,
And do not use it when driving or doing anything that requires your attention.
As you begin to settle in and get comfortable,
You can allow part of your mind to drift while another part can listen to these words fully.
The process is even more effective as you follow along and use your imagination to get really absorbed,
Present in mind and body.
You might wonder what it means to be present in the body,
And what that means is to be aware of body sensation,
Like the shifting,
Changing process of the breath,
As you inhale gently and exhale fully,
Perhaps a bit longer on the out-breath,
Which guides you into a relaxed state.
As the breath naturally relaxes and shifts into a gentle,
Easy rhythm,
You might also notice any areas of the physical body that feel comfortable.
It might be pleasant to imagine tension breathing away or floating out of you,
So that what is left is a beautiful sense of calm.
A sense of calmness may be reminiscent of places you know or will know,
Places or spaces in nature where you feel calm and whole.
You can relax deeper as you recognize what it feels like when you're in one of these peaceful natural places,
Taking a moment to do that now.
Even just a moment of connecting with and feeling the energy of nature can be both grounding and revitalizing.
Perhaps you've dreamt of a relationship with yourself or a partner where you can be your full,
Authentic self,
A relationship with someone who loves you deeply and with whom you can be your full,
Abundant,
Shining you,
Free of insecurities about being enough for that person,
Because they love and care for you deeply,
And because you deeply love yourself.
Once upon a time,
As if in a dream,
There were times and places where you didn't feel good enough,
Times when you tried to pour your love out to another person or kept it safely tucked away inside,
And in both cases,
That love was not being received by them.
But you know in your heart of hearts that love is there and waiting to be given a place to call home.
You might see this love as a glowing ember or a shining star,
Or the seedling of a beautiful plant waiting to emerge from the soil and greet the sun.
If you take a moment to go inside and connect with this feeling of love,
I wonder what you'll notice.
Some people experience love as a gentle warmth,
Starting in the chest and then radiating throughout the body like a warm glow.
Bring to mind,
And this might be something you see,
Hear,
Or feel,
Someone or something that you care for and feel positively toward.
Perhaps you'll see yourself in the picture also,
Smiling.
Or hear yourself laughing,
Or feel a sense of calm centeredness in the physical body.
As you connect more with this positive experience,
You can notice what it is about this person or thing that you find enjoyable.
It might be an earthly possession that you hold dear,
A particular place in nature you feel connected with,
Or a person for whom you have a positive regard.
If it's a person,
You might notice how good it feels when they're present with you.
Perhaps there's a sense that they really get you,
Or you really relate to something they share with you.
Or you might even find that that relaxation comes from being in the presence of a kindred spirit,
Someone who you can share with in a light way,
Or maybe in a deeper way,
And that the sharing is well-received without judgment,
But with acceptance and care.
Let yourself relax into the enjoyment of knowing that however you are in this moment is just fine.
It's so much easier to feel at home with ourselves when you simply accept yourself for who you are.
And you have many positive qualities that are endearing to others.
Let yourself bring one to mind now,
Something about you that is positive that other people have commented on,
Or you've noticed in yourself.
It might be a strength of yours,
A resource,
Or a special ability that makes you who you are.
You have,
Do,
Or are this thing in some particularly unique way that is amazing if you stop and think about it.
As you consider this particular quality of yours,
You may imagine ways you might bring this into relationships,
Where other people appreciate you even more,
Because this is some quality that is particular to you,
And that other people appreciate,
Or that brings them comfort,
Admiration,
Or happiness.
Whether or not you've ever taken the time to appreciate this particular quality in yourself,
It is there.
Sometimes we don't notice the things we are strongest at,
And our talents are almost invisible to us because we take them for granted.
So you can just take a moment to appreciate this beautiful aspect of yourself,
And observe if there is some way that it brings you closer to others or it might in the future.
Let yourself bring to mind an image of you there in the future,
Fully embracing this particular quality,
And someone else in this scenario is fully appreciating it and loving it about you.
Notice the ways that you can tell they appreciate and care about you.
It might be how they are looking at you,
Or the particular way they laugh,
Or clearly enjoy your company.
There there in the most consistent,
Loving,
Attuned way,
Let yourself feel their presence.
Notice any physical sensations that cue you into their presence.
Perhaps you feel a warmth in your hands,
Or an openness in your heart or relaxation in the muscles of the back or throat that let you know they appreciate you for who you are.
Just notice what is there in a felt-sense level that tells you that you are enough.
And let yourself give yourself the appreciation that you are receiving from this other person,
The love or care for just being you beyond any quality or measure,
That you are lovable for just being you.
And if there are any parts of you that are questioning or doubting,
There may or may not be,
Invite them now to witness this picture of you and this other person who is appreciating you for this quality of yours,
Appreciating you for who you are.
And let these parts take in the updated version of you that includes the version now as you see and know yourself as a beautiful,
Loving being.
And perhaps even bringing in the awareness of a higher self or higher being who can love you and appreciate you for this deep aspect of who you are on a fundamental level.
And just take a moment to update any parts of yourself that need to have the information now that,
On some deep level,
A level which may yet be below the level of conscious awareness,
You are pure,
Radiant love.
And say the words,
I am enough,
To yourself out loud or in your mind.
I am enough.
And let yourself really feel that on the somatic level,
On the level of the body.
The rightness of those words and the accuracy.
If you want to modify them in any way for yourself,
That is fine too,
Creating an expression of who you are becoming.
In this moment now,
I am welcoming in the feeling of being enough.
And feeling the enjoyment and rightness of this positive decision you are making for yourself now.
And you may experience this love as the gentlest of energies or as a powerful,
Encompassing,
Energetic warmth of enveloping love that is up to you how much you want to receive right now.
Know that you are beginning the process of creating a greater depth and awareness and appreciation for yourself on a deep level.
And finding gratitude for the ways that this greater awareness of self-appreciation will begin to show itself in the coming days and weeks as you go about your business.
Because in the back of your mind,
This awareness of your worthiness has grown.
This appreciation for your own worthiness blossoms and flourishes and colors all of your relationships.
Not the least of which is the relationship with yourself and all of the parts that make up you.
And as you begin the process of coming back to yourself in this moment now,
You are bringing with you a greater shift toward self-love and acceptance.
You might notice it as a warmth or relaxation that wasn't there before,
The beginnings of this shift toward loving yourself deeply and with your whole heart.
Feeling energy flowing up starting at your feet and flowing up through your lower legs,
Your upper legs,
Your hips and stomach and chest,
Arms,
Neck,
And face.
Feeling that energy bringing you alert and into greater awareness of your surroundings.
And coming all the way back now,
Alert,
Refreshed,
And present.
Taking a moment to enjoy the feeling of being fully awake,
Like you had just had a refreshing nap.
