Hi and welcome to this guided meditation.
My name is Leslie and I will be your guide to these minutes of relaxation.
To start the meditation,
Move into a comfortable position.
This can be either sleeping or sitting.
If sitting on the floor,
You can sit cross-legged.
If using a chair,
Sit with your feet flat on the ground.
Keep your back upright,
Hands on your knees facing outward and head slightly tilted upwards.
If sleeping,
Sleep flat on your back without a pillow.
Keep your arms to your sides facing upwards.
Keep your eyes closed with a gentle focus between your eyebrows.
Let's focus on our breathing and start taking deep breaths.
Breathe in through your nose and let the air fill your lungs and then breathe out through your nose.
As we go through this meditation,
We will keep taking these deep relaxing breaths.
And if you find yourself lost,
Then bring back your focus to my voice and keep taking deep relaxing breaths.
This meditation is focused on our ego's need for wholeness.
We all feel the sense of incompleteness,
The sense of not being whole.
Some of us are conscious of this and are seen in the sense of not being worthy or not good enough.
Unconsciously,
It can sometimes be seen as an intense craving,
As a want or as a need.
To fulfill this incompleteness,
We look to satisfy our ego in possessions,
Money,
Success,
Power,
Recognition and relationships.
And in some cases,
Also through political and religious associations.
We look for these things to feel more complete.
And after attaining these things,
We find some satisfaction.
But the satisfaction is short lived and in no time new cravings develop.
As long as our ego is running the show,
We can never be fulfilled.
Our ego is like a bottomless pit that can never be filled.
What we need to understand is that we are not the sum of all these desires.
We need to look into ourselves and understand who we truly are.
We need to know that we are not our ego.
In truth,
All material things are temporary.
They will come and they will go.
And the only thing that matters and is truly permanent is our spirit.
What matters is who we are at the core.
We are loving,
Caring and selfless people.
So growing in spirituality will lead to lasting wholeness.
And this can be achieved by increasing our awareness of who we are through meditation and through prayer.
So let's stop filling our spiritual needs with material things and let's start to grow in our spirituality.
And with this we can become whole.
Thank you for your time.
