Waking Up, Good Morning

Sometimes it's hard to wake up, hard to get out of bed. This meditation is for those days. When you just want to hit snooze 1,000 times or when you feel like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed, use this audio to shift your day. Some days we just start in a funk, but this exercise will help you move through that so your funk doesn't ruin your day.

Good morning love.

In this morning's meditation we will wake up.

Sometimes for a lot of us it's hard to get up in the morning and so this meditation is for you if you are struggling getting out of bed or waking up on this morning.

So wherever you are if you're still in your bed like I am maybe you're snuggling on the couch or in a chair or even on your meditation pillow.

Wherever you are let's start with a big deep breath in and then sigh it all out.

Let's take a few more deep breaths in again here and sigh it out.

Sometimes we need that gentle morning to help us get going in our day and there's nothing wrong with that.

So continue to sigh out and if you need to yawn let that happen too.

Now before we move on snuggle into wherever you are.

Cuddle into your bed really connecting with the bed underneath you the floor or the couch underneath you.

Almost melt wherever you are melt into the space and thank yourself for being here this morning and thank your bed or couch or wherever for supporting you as you wake up.

I always love to think my bed every morning for supporting me as I slept providing that safe place and for comforting me.

Now let's start to wiggle your fingers and toes just gently waking up your body really feeling what it's like to introduce movement here.

Now allow the movement to stretch into your lower legs your lower arms into your knees and elbows into your upper arms and to your upper legs.

Maybe start to stretch now bringing your belly and your back and your chest into the movement.

Take one more big stretch here whatever feels good to you and then let's bring our face into it scrunch up all your facial muscles scrunching your eyes your nose your cheeks your lips contract all of those facial muscles including the ones on the back of your head and at the top of your crown.

Squeeze tight and then let it all go.

Take one more big stretch here bringing in all your body whatever feels good and then let's end our meditation by envisioning the Sun.

Imagine that there is a Sun above you shining down on your body.

Imagine there's almost a liquid light that's going to fill up your body from the bottom all the way to the top.

Imagine the light pouring down from the top of your head flowing all the way down to your feet.

It's filling up your big toes now with brightness and lightness.

It's filling up the bottoms of your feet your ankles.

Imagine the sunlight is coming in your body and breaking away any tension any tightness filling your body up with liquid gold bright shiny light.

It's filling up your lower legs now and your calves filling up your knees bringing warmth and light to your body.

It's filling up your upper legs now.

Imagine the light pouring out of your pores shining around you.

Now it's filling up your hips your glutes releasing all tension and filling you with warmth and light.

It's filling up your belly now and your lower back and graduating into your chest and your upper back.

Now the sunshine is filling you with joy and peace and light.

Moving into your shoulders now and dripping from your shoulders in to each of your fingertips filling up your hand and your forearm your lower arm.

It's filling up your elbows now with that warm luscious light.

It's filling up your upper arm now and now your neck is being filled with that liquid sunlight into your chin into your ears to your sinuses behind your eyes your whole body is filling with warmth and light.

Filling up your forehead now and the top of your head.

Imagine that this personal Sun that's filled you with sunlight it's blessing your day setting you up for success.

Giving you space and time to create the kind of day that you want.

Sit for a moment here now and think about what you want out of this day.

Think about the kind of day you want to have.

Because you've taken time for yourself this morning and woken up gently and with this expanse of light anything is possible for you today.

Know that you are starting off on the right foot.

Know that whatever happens can be working for you.

Know what you can control and remember that this light is here for you throughout the day to help you create the day you want.

Take a big deep breath in and sigh it all out.

Continue to breathe this way along and deep and sighing it out and take one more big deep stretch now that you're filled with this beautiful sunlight.

Know that you are held and taken care of and that today is gonna be a great day.
