Forgiving ourselves is easier with God’s love. Use this meditation to use compassion instead of shame or judgment for your mistakes or perceived imperfections. Based on ACIM workbook lessons: “God has condemned me not. No more will I.” (Lesson 228), “Forgive and this will disappear.” (Lesson 193) “Instead of judging, we be but still and let all things be healed. (Part 2, Introduction). You can also use this process to forgive someone else.

Take several long,

Slow,

Deep breaths.

Letting your body just sink into the chair or the floor as you exhale.

Breathing in calm and breathing out your thoughts and your worries and your stress.

Let it all go.

Feeling the stillness of just sitting and being,

Feeling the movement of your spirit as you breathe in and breathe out.

And I invite you to put a hand at your heart.

Feeling the breath of spirit breathing through your heart.

As you allow yourself to be open to forgiving mistakes and letting all things be healed.

Instead of judging,

We be but still and let all things be healed.

God has condemned me not,

No more will I condemn myself.

My purpose is to forgive and experience peace and I know that only love is real.

Lesson 221 says forgiveness is still and quietly does nothing.

It offends no aspect of reality nor seeks to twist it to appearances it likes.

Forgiveness looks and waits and judges not.

It welcomes truth exactly as it is.

Do nothing and let forgiveness show you what to do.

So I invite you today to put into your heart something you want to forgive yourself for.

Maybe a mistake that you made or an attitude or behavior that you have that you dislike or being sick or having pain.

Just choose one unpleasant situation or quality about yourself that you'd like healing around.

Could be allowing yourself to be imperfect,

Allowing yourself to make mistakes.

Put it into your heart,

Whatever it is,

And hold it in a space of love.

Knowing God's love and light to enter your heart and help you remove the block that you have to true love through the act of forgiveness.

To myself,

I offer acceptance and compassion.

Even if I'm not perfect or I've made a mistake,

I completely love and accept myself.

I let things be exactly as they are.

I let myself be exactly as I am.

I remember who I truly am in spirit.

But then I really have done nothing wrong.

And I'm willing to let go of my preferences that I be a certain way or I should have done this or I should have done that.

I'm willing to let that go and feel the innocence of who I really am.

But it's only my mind that's creating myself to be imperfect or a mistake or inadequate.

In truth,

I am love.

I am as God created me,

Whole and complete,

Lacking nothing.

So whatever you're holding in your heart,

Just talk to it in a loving,

Compassionate way by saying,

I know you feel this way.

I understand.

I'm with you.

I get it.

I get that you feel this way.

And I still love you as if from your higher wiser self,

You're speaking to that small ego self.

I'm just acknowledging it exactly as it is.

I can forgive and this will disappear.

What do I need to allow and hold in love and compassion with myself?

Love me?

.

.

And as you hold it in your heart,

Just allow yourself to be still and be healed.

You don't have to know what to do.

Let forgiveness show you.

.

.

I need to forgive myself for.

.

.

What could my relationship be with myself if I allowed myself to be exactly as I am?

Would I feel more peace?

Would I have more clarity?

More ease in dealing with situations?

Or changing something about myself that might make my life easier?

Do I want my relationship with myself to be fearful or to be peaceful?

Angry or loving?

Shaming or compassionate?

I can choose in this moment.

Turn towards myself in a way that offers me peace,

Kindness,

Blessings.
