Hi,
This is Manal.
Welcome to Meditation,
The Gift of Focus.
The intention of this meditation is to guide you to recognize the benefits of meditation and to provide the context for becoming more satisfied,
Content,
And present in your daily life.
Meditation is a practice that enables you to focus to a point that you become unfocused.
Consistent meditation enables you to develop this focus muscle.
Ultimately,
The strengthening of this focus muscle is the key to your ability to be present more often as you journey through life.
The feeling of being present leads to satisfaction,
Contentment,
And bliss.
Engaging any of your five senses is a very effective way to become present at any time.
I will articulate how to connect with your senses to enhance your sense of being,
Celebration,
And joy.
Let's start with invoking your sense of feeling.
As you sit still,
Feel the sensations in,
Within,
On,
Or around your body.
You want to think of your body as a whole.
Your energy field,
Perhaps.
Feel if you can feel yourself protected.
You want to just go more local,
Feel the sensations in a certain part of your body.
Tingling your toes.
Enjoy the physical sensations from connecting through your physicality.
Enjoy engaging your sense of feeling while in stillness.
Feeling is such a powerful body.
It's one of my favorite sensations and senses.
I enjoy looking at pictures and getting an understanding,
A deeper understanding,
Just through feeling.
I enjoy walking through the forest or anywhere in life and connecting with the feeling of the space or the people I may connect with.
Feeling is such a powerful one for me.
Our sense of sight is so powerful.
You can always tap into your sense of seeing to become present.
Whether your eyes are closed or open,
Use your sight to focus.
My eyes are closed,
But with my eyes closed,
I can strengthen my sense of presence and focus by becoming really intently aware and focused of the black behind my lids.
Simply seeing what's going on around you while focusing on one point can always help you get to presence.
Watching the dancing of a flame is an invigorating way to use your sense of sight to become present.
Wonderful.
Let's move on to your sense of hearing.
Our ears and our sense of hearing create such a beautiful opportunity in any moment to become present.
Listen to the beat,
The harmony,
The sounds of the background music.
Paying attention to the tone,
The enunciation,
To the sound of my voice,
And even listening to the nothingness.
When I stop speaking in between the music,
Whether you can connect with the sound of nothingness,
Any music,
Any noise,
Any background noise can become a beautiful way to become fully present anywhere you go.
The sense of taste is becoming more and more one of my favorite senses to describe.
During my inspirations and meditations,
I'll say,
Taste that feeling of resistance.
And I just really enjoy that our mouths have so many sensations.
Take a moment to feel what your mouth tastes like in this present moment.
Dry or not.
Have you eaten recently or drank something recently?
Taste can be beyond food,
And just like when you're out in the world and you can see and get a feeling,
You could also get a taste for what's going on around you.
How often do you hear someone say,
Oh,
You've got great taste.
Such a wonderful,
Strong sense.
While eating,
Really enjoy the tastes and the sensations of the foods,
Sour,
Sweet,
Whatever it might be.
Truly enjoy your sensations and be present while eating.
And finally,
The beautiful sense of smell.
Engage your sense of smell.
Is there something particular in the room that you're sitting in?
Freshness,
Maybe some baking or cooking,
Perhaps some incense,
Perfume,
Or the smell of home.
Your sense of smell is a beautiful way to ignite memories and to become present.
Amplify your feeling of being through your sense of smell anywhere when you just are ready to be.
As your day unfolds,
Create an intention to become more and more present.
Becoming present means truly enjoying all the expressions of life.
Letting go of thoughts that do not serve you allows your senses to genuinely enjoy the sensations of the human experience.
We have so much pleasure that we can derive from in this human experience by truly connecting with our five senses.
Catch yourself if you're not present and recognize that you have the power to reconnect at any time and become present by invoking your five senses.
Celebrate your unique journey.
Celebrate this joyous human experience.
Celebrate your five senses.
Celebrate yourself.
My love,
Always.
