Join me for an analytical meditation on anxiety and fear. This was taught by HH Dalai Lama in one of his sessions. This falls under a mind-training technique which helps us to look at our fears and anxieties from a different perspective and helps us to release fear through logical analysis and training our mind giving a long-term benefit.

This meditation is called put a pinch of salt on your anxiety and fear.

An unusual name for a meditation right?

But don't worry it will all come together soon.

Fear and anxiety are very disturbing emotions both for our mind and body.

It creates that uneasy feeling in your body and that constant thumping of your heart.

We all have it at some point of time.

I have a solution to it.

Whenever I feel uneasy I feel fear or anxious.

I say anxiety fear whosoever whatsoever you are.

I'll put a pinch of salt on you.

Like how you put salt in hot water and it burns and bubbles come out.

The same way my fears and anxiety will go out.

But this is more than that.

This requires us to think about the situation and analyse the situation.

More often we just think from our current point of view our current perspective and make assumptions.

Let's larger our vision today.

Let's broaden our thinking today.

And that's the only way you can bring a long term solution a long term stop on this.

This is the beauty of an analytical meditation or a practical meditation.

I want you to imagine any situation where you felt anxious.

You felt a little bit of fear.

Maybe it's right now.

Maybe it happened sometimes earlier.

Imagine the situation clearly.

The people around you.

The feelings and emotions you had.

The thumping of heart.

That constant buzzing of thoughts.

That sleepless night.

But don't get attached to this situation.

Remember you are recreating the situation only to turn it into something more positive.

You're just broadening your vision.

We are broadening our perspectives today.

In this situation now remember this word SALT.

SALT is an acronym which is a series of logical analysis that you can do in any situation.

Trying to broaden our horizons and making your mind at ease.

So let's go through these four letters.

And try to use this in our situation that we have just recreated.

The first letter is S which means strong.

This situation of yours.

Can you see this as an opportunity and a challenge for you to become stronger?

It is only through challenges that the best,

The strong come out of us.

Can you see this situation as the one which will make you stronger?

Try to let go of the anxiety and worry and accept it as a challenge.

That yes,

I will give my best.

I'm not worrying about the result.

But I'm taking the situation for my growth.

No matter what happens,

I will be happy that I gave my best and I came out stronger and stronger.

The second letter is A which means action or acceptance.

The line armor says,

If you can do something about it,

Do it.

What is the need to worry about it then?

And if you cannot do something,

Then what is the need to worry about it?

Now in this situation of yours,

Think is there something you can do about it?

So that the situation might not occur or might ease a little bit.

Maybe doing your homework again before a meeting,

Preparing again before an interview,

Or talking again to your spouse for some of the things that you haven't talked about.

But if there is nothing in your control,

Then there is absolutely no need to worry.

What is the use of this anxiety if ultimately you can't do anything?

Let's accept this as it is.

And we know all things in life change.

So let this one go.

The third letter is L which means least,

Which means to be prepared for the least or for the worst.

And thinking,

What is the worst thing that could happen if it comes true?

Is it too big?

No.

This thing is not bigger than you.

It's not bigger than your strength.

We human beings are much more stronger than we think.

The last one in our salt today is T the truth.

In the situation of yours,

Ask yourself the truth.

What I'm feeling,

Is it really going to happen?

Like really?

100%?

Is it the truth?

Almost every time you will get the answer.

Not necessarily.

Then why I'm getting anxious on something which really might not happen at all?

This doesn't make sense.

Let this go and enjoy the present moment.

I invite you to incorporate salt in your life and think about those logical analysis in any situation that you feel uneasy and then let go of your anxieties.

The Lailama does this.

He uses salt all the time.

And what could be a better example than him?

So let's take a moment here.

Having firmed up with our analysis,

Our reasoning,

Feel that the situation of yours and all your negativities,

Your fears,

Your tensions have bundled up near your heart like a black smoke.

And with every exhale that you do,

Push them out of your body.

If you want to exhale strongly,

Do it.

Push them out and try to feel them leaving your body,

Cleansing your body.

And we have done our analysis.

We have done our salt.

So push them out today and try to feel them again.

Just leaving every atom of your body.

It's going out from every muscle,

From every bone and from every atom of your body.

All that remains is a peaceful you.

Try to feel this peace within you.

Now take a couple of deep breaths,

Seeing this negativity going out of your body and feeling the peace within you.

Whenever you're ready,

Gently open your eyes.

Whenever you feel any situation,

Bring these analysis of salt.

See if you can broaden your horizons,
