Sometimes the inner torment becomes too much to bear. We seek relief...but from where? In THERE, that's where. It's the only place that truly calms, smooths and delivers exactly what you uniquely need. Rare and difficult, digging deeply to find the inner calm and by leaning in, confronting the discomfort is the best and lasting way to dispell torment's power over us. The practice is a win-win. Meeting trouble where it is, then rebounding into the light will lift you to higher heights everytime.

Hello,

My name is Maris and this will be an 8 minute meditation on smoothing the wrinkles of torment,

Inner torment.

In a very comfortable seat,

Drop into your bones and seek great relaxation in your body.

If you feel safe,

You're welcome to close your eyes.

Oftentimes,

We feel a state of torment,

Whether it's negative self-talk,

Forces from the outside or impacting our mental state.

Meditation is here to help smooth out those wrinkles of torment by expanding inside the body,

Pressing out when the world feels like it's squeezing in on us.

You are gifted and talented in so many ways.

And so it is important that you are able to shine and not cripple your gifts and talents from being shared.

Notice any discomfort you're feeling in your body.

Notice if you're squeezing your mind,

Your brain and the muscles in your face because of any inner torment.

Recognize and release.

This does not help you.

Take your time.

Scan the body.

Notice where you may be gripping and squeezing,

Letting your mental gyrations take a hold of your physicality.

Acknowledge and release.

This meditation is meant to be a very safe haven for you to be.

Breathing and lighting the fire of your vitality.

Take your time.

Hop into greater ease.

Press the body out.

Expand.

Relax your eyes and thus any mental activity.

Now it's impossible to stop the thoughts so we let them sputter out.

During this meditation,

We're simply taking a holiday from onboarding any additional stimuli,

Dressers,

Input.

Enjoy the process of purifying the mind.

Take your time.

Rest your eyes.

Again,

Search the body for where you're gripping and release the mental hold in your physical body.

We can do this over and over and over again.

And every day,

You'll see how far you've come.

And every day,

We get to see how far we have to go.

So just find ease at the center point,

Grounded in the unknowing.

Find ease with uncertainty.

And gain mastery over the relationship you have with your mind.

Take a big belly breath in and a long and easeful breath out.

I wished it was longer, as the voice was very soothing. My state of relaxation was just starting to flow, then there was nothing. Before I noticed, the meditation had run over a minute. I don't mind sitting in a relaxed state for longer than the guide speaks, but it's nice to know when the actual piece has finished. Maybe a bell or some closing words would help. Thanks for the positive reminders. Namastè
