Welcome to week one of self-love notes,

Permission to be you.

Today we will discover giving yourself permission to be yourself in all the ways that make you unique.

First let's take a moment to get comfortable sitting taller with a straight spine.

Begin by taking a deeper breath in,

Inhale through your nose,

And exhale out of your nose or mouth.

Let your eyes softly close and soften into your seat.

Begin to relax.

Take an easy breath in and an easy breath out.

Our bodies and mind work hard every day to keep us thriving.

Let's pause for a moment of gratitude for all you do.

For all you have been through leading up to now and all that is waiting to unfold for you.

Take a breath here,

Filling up your lungs with air,

Breathing in through the nose,

And exhale to release.

Being compassionate to yourself first requires acceptance and loving understanding of who you are as a human being separate from all you do or what titles or roles you take on.

Take a moment here to think of a few qualities about yourself that you love.

Sitting with your breath for the next few moments,

Come back to your breath once more to re-center.

Notice the air moving in,

Notice how the body expands on your in-breath,

And slowly release your breath on your exhale.

Honor yourself for whatever arises for you today.

Sit with the qualities you discovered and see if you can observe or even add to that list this week.

Take note that it may not come easy to list all of these qualities we love about ourselves,

And that's okay.

It can take time to change these internal thoughts,

So give yourself grace and time to do just that.

Coming back to your breath and back to the room,

Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,

Slowly open your eyes and even let a smile come to your mouth.

Beginning to observe how you feel in your body and how you feel in your mind.

Thank you for this practice and have a wonderful day.

See you next week for another self-love note.
