Namaste,
Welcome.
My name is Monika and I'm so happy to chant with you today in this chanting circle.
You don't need much for the session,
Just your voice,
Your breath and an open heart.
And if you'd like you can also have a mala to count the chants,
But that's completely optional.
Please take a comfortable seat on a cushion,
Chair or a yoga mat.
You can sit in a way that feels stable and supported.
Let's take a moment to arrive.
Close your eyes,
Feel the ground beneath you.
Let your spine gently rise and bring awareness to your breath.
Let's breathe together,
Three deep breaths.
In through the nose and out through the mouth.
In through the nose and out through the nose.
One more deep inhale and a long exhale.
Settling into the here and now.
Today we will be chanting the mantra Lam 108 times.
Lam is the Bija,
The seed mantra of the root chakra,
Also called Muladhara.
This energy center connects to the earth,
To safety,
Stability and a deep sense of belonging.
Chanting Lam helps us ground ourselves physically,
Emotionally,
Energetically.
It's especially helpful when we feel scattered,
Anxious or disconnected from our body.
We chant 108 times as a sacred number,
Representing completeness and alignment with the rhythms of nature.
And there's no right or wrong way to join.
You can chant aloud,
Hum or simply listen and absorb the vibrations.
And as we chant you may want to gently bring your awareness to the space at the base of your spine,
The area of your root chakra.
Imagine the sound Lam vibrating there,
Anchoring you,
Stabilizing you,
Rooting you deeply into the earth.
Let your breath move like a quiet river through you.
Let's begin by chanting three slow Lam together to find our rhythm.
Short L,
Long A,
And a short N.
So let's inhale together.
Inhaling.
One more.
Inhaling.
Now we begin our 108 repetitions.
I'll be chanting with you and counting with my mala.
Let the sound settle into your body.
Feel the vibration in your pelvis,
Your legs,
Your feet.
And bring your attention to the base of your spine,
The root chakra,
As if you were planting roots into the earth.
Let's inhale for Lam.
Now we rest.
Let the sound dissolve in the stillness.
Notice how your body feels.
Notice what is present beneath the surface.
There is nothing to do,
Just breathe and be.
If you like,
Place a hand on your belly or low back.
Feel the support beneath you and the calm within you.
Begin to gently deepen your breath.
Move your fingers and toes.
Return slowly.
Bring your palms together in front of your heart space.
Thank yourself for being here,
For chanting,
For grounding.
Let's close with one final Lam as a blessing for this day.
Inhaling.
Namaste.
And thank you so much for joining this grounding practice.
If this session supported you,
I warmly invite you to return.
Your presence makes this space sacred.
I wish you a wonderful rest of your day,
If it's your evening,
And a wonderful day ahead,
If it's your morning.
Namaste.
