Hi.

Thank you for being here.

Take a breath with me.

Feel your chest rise.

Let it fall.

Settle your weight.

Let your shoulders soften.

Let's talk.

Today we talk about right concentration.

The final step of the Noble Eightfold Path.

When the mind is scattered,

It creates confusion and suffering.

When the mind is steady,

When we train concentration,

It becomes the foundation for wisdom,

Compassion,

And liberation.

Right concentration is the cultivation of a focused,

Steady mind.

In modern life,

Attention is pulled in a hundred directions.

Notifications,

Stress,

Busyness.

The mind gets restless.

Concentration is how we gather it back.

Think of sunlight.

It warms everything it touches.

But when scattered,

Its power is limited.

Put a magnifying glass in front of it.

Suddenly it can light a fire.

The mind works the same way.

Here's a tool you can use.

Pick one spot for your attention.

The breath at your nose.

The rise of the chest.

Or the weight of your feet on the ground.

Set a short timer if you need.

One,

Three,

Maybe five minutes.

And for that time,

Stay with the one point.

If your mind wanders,

No problem.

Notice it.

Stay thinking quietly in your head.

Simple,

Direct.

And if you repeat it often,

Your focus grows.

Let's try it now,

Just one minute together.

Choose your point.

Stay with it.

Notice how the mind feels now compared to one minute ago.

This practice isn't about perfection.

Some days focus comes easy.

Other days it slips.

The work isn't showing up.

So when you're anxious before a meeting,

Try one breath with full attention.

When you can't sleep,

Focus on the rise and fall of the chest.

When life feels scattered,

Give yourself three minutes to return.

That is right concentration.

Not escape.

Not hiding.

But training the mind to hold steady so wisdom and compassion can flow.

Before we close,

Let's breathe three steady breaths together.

Carry this with you.

Every time you bring the mind back,

Sharpen your light.

Every time you choose focus over distraction,

You strengthen your freedom.

And every moment of steady attention is one step closer to liberation.
