With an exhalation,

Just let your eyes close,

Releasing the busyness of the day.

With an inhalation,

Bring your energy and your attention into your body.

Exhaling,

Letting your body relax just a bit more,

Sensing how your body is supported by the bed,

How your head is supported by the pillow.

Inhaling,

Just letting yourself be right here,

Right now.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Giving yourself permission to rest now.

Letting yourself know that you are done for the day.

Letting this be enough for now.

Allowing the breath to deepen,

To slow its pace.

Perhaps counting to five as you inhale,

Counting to five as you exhale.

Starting your body with steady,

Rhythmic breathing as you bring your attention to your heart.

Letting yourself imagine that you are breathing through your heart.

Slowly breathing in,

The heart expands.

Slowly breathing out,

The heart relaxes.

Allowing your heart to enjoy the nourishment of the inhalation.

Allowing your heart to enjoy the ease of the exhalation.

As you continue to relax into these heart breaths,

See if you can call into your consciousness an experience of feeling grateful.

A time when you had a sense of deep appreciation.

Perhaps this time was something that happened today.

Perhaps it was something that happened a while ago.

The time doesn't matter.

What matters is that you notice the feeling in your heart,

A sensing in your body of,

I'm glad for this.

Letting yourself feel what it felt like to have this experience as part of your life.

Letting this experience of gratitude through your heart into your body.

Letting your heart radiate the sensation of gratitude throughout your chest,

Into your arms,

Into the tips of your fingers.

Radiating the sensation of gratitude through your belly,

Down your legs,

And into the tips of your toes.

Letting your body be filled with a sense of appreciation.

Inviting each cell to have a sip of it.

Letting the sensation of appreciation fill your awareness.

Relaxing into the sensation of fulfillment,

The experience of noticing,

Of receiving a pleasant surprise with appreciation.

Inhaling,

There is acceptance and letting it soak into your body and into your consciousness.

Exhaling,

There is a soft thank you and letting it be part of your life.

Just resting here in the heart breathing of gratitude,

Feeling this is enough for now.
